1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzi-bah.

1 Manasés tenía doce años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén cincuenta y cinco años; el nombre de su madre era Hepsiba.

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

2 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, según las abominaciones de las naciones que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.

3 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

3 Porque él volvió a edificar los lugares altos que su padre Ezequías había derribado, y levantó altares a Baal e hizo una imagen de Asera, como había hecho Acab, rey de Israel; y adoró a todo el ejército del cielo y los sirvió.

4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

4 Asimismo edificó altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual Jehová había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalén.

5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

5 Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová.

6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

6 E hizo pasar a su hijo por fuego, y fue adivino y agorero, e instituyó magos y adivinos, multiplicando así el hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová para provocarlo a ira.

7 And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

7 Y puso una imagen tallada de Asera, que él había hecho, en la casa de la cual Jehová había dicho a David y a Salomón, su hijo: Yo pondré mi nombre para siempre en esta casa y en Jerusalén, a la cual escogí entre todas las tribus de Israel.

8 Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

8 Y no volveré a hacer que el pie de Israel ande errante fuera de la tierra que di a sus padres, con tal de que hagan conforme a todas las cosas que yo les he mandado y las guarden, conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó.

9 But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

9 Pero ellos no escucharon, y Manasés los indujo a que hiciesen más mal que las naciones que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

10 Y habló Jehová por medio de sus siervos, los profetas, diciendo:

11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:

11 Por cuanto Manasés, rey de Judá, ha hecho estas abominaciones y ha hecho más mal que todo el que hicieron los amorreos que fueron antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar a Judá con sus ídolos,

12 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

12 por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová, el Dios de Israel: He aquí, yo traigo un mal tan grande sobre Jerusalén y sobre Judá, que al que lo oiga le retiñirán ambos oídos.

13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.

13 Y mediré a Jerusalén con el mismo cordel que a Samaria, y con la misma plomada que a la casa de Acab; y yo limpiaré a Jerusalén como se limpia un tazón que, después que se ha limpiado, se pone boca abajo.

14 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

14 Y desampararé al remanente de mi heredad y lo entregaré en manos de sus enemigos; y serán presa y despojo para todos sus enemigos;

15 Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

15 por cuanto han hecho lo malo ante mis ojos y me han provocado a ira, desde el día en que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy.

16 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

16 Además de esto, Manasés derramó mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta llenar Jerusalén de un extremo a otro, además de su pecado con el que hizo pecar a Judá, para que hiciese lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová.

17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

17 Los demás hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo y el pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

18 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres y fue sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uza; y reinó en su lugar su hijo Amón.

19 Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

19 Amón tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén. Y el nombre de su madre era Mesulemet hija de Haruz, de Jotba.

20 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.

20 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, como lo había hecho Manasés, su padre.

21 And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:

21 Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió a los ídolos a los cuales había servido su padre, y los adoró;

22 And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.

22 y abandonó a Jehová, el Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino de Jehová.

23 And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.

23 Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él y mataron al rey en su casa.

24 And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

24 Entonces el pueblo de la tierra mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y el pueblo de la tierra proclamó rey en su lugar a su hijo Josías.

25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

25 Los demás hechos que Amón hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

26 And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.

26 Y fue sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uza, y reinó en su lugar su hijo Josías.
