1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

1 En aquellos días Ezequías cayó enfermo de muerte; y vino a él el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz y le dijo: Así dice Jehová: Ordena tu casa, porque vas a morir y no vivirás.

2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

2 Entonces él volvió su rostro hacia la pared y oró a Jehová, diciendo:

3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

3 Te ruego, oh Jehová, te ruego que hagas memoria de que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón, y que he hecho lo bueno ante tus ojos. Y lloró Ezequías con gran llanto.

4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

4 Y aconteció que antes de que Isaías hubiera salido del patio central, vino a él la palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

5 Vuelve, y di a Ezequías, príncipe de mi pueblo: Así dice Jehová, el Dios de David, tu padre: Yo he oído tu oración; he visto tus lágrimas. He aquí, yo te sanaré; al tercer día subirás a la casa de Jehová.

6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

6 Y añadiré a tus días quince años, y te libraré a ti y a esta ciudad de la mano del rey de Asiria; y ampararé esta ciudad por causa de mí mismo y por causa de David, mi siervo.

7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

7 Y dijo Isaías: Tomad una masa de higos. Y la tomaron y la pusieron sobre la úlcera, y sanó.

8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

8 Y Ezequías dijo a Isaías: ¿Qué señal tendré de que Jehová me sanará y de que subiré a la casa de Jehová al tercer día?

9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

9 Y respondió Isaías: Esta señal tendrás de Jehová, de que Jehová hará lo que ha dicho: ¿Avanzará la sombra diez grados, o retrocederá diez grados?

10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

10 Y Ezequías respondió: Cosa fácil es que la sombra avance diez grados, pero no que la sombra vuelva atrás diez grados.

11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

11 Entonces el profeta Isaías clamó a Jehová, e hizo volver atrás la sombra los diez grados que había avanzado en el reloj de Acaz.

12 At that time Berodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

12 En aquel tiempo Merodac-baladán hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió cartas y un presente a Ezequías, porque había oído que Ezequías había caído enfermo.

13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

13 Y Ezequías los escuchó y les mostró toda la casa de sus cosas preciosas: la plata, el oro, las especias y los preciados ungüentos; y la casa de sus armas y todo lo que había en sus tesoros; ninguna cosa quedó que Ezequías no les mostrase, tanto en su casa como en todo su dominio.

14 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

14 Entonces el profeta Isaías vino al rey Ezequías y le dijo: ¿Qué dijeron aquellos hombres y de dónde vinieron a ti? Y Ezequías le respondió: De lejanas tierras han venido, de Babilonia.

15 And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

15 Y él le volvió a decir: ¿Qué vieron en tu casa? Y Ezequías respondió: Vieron todo lo que había en mi casa; nada quedó de mis tesoros que no les mostrase.

16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

16 Entonces Isaías dijo a Ezequías: Oye la palabra de Jehová:

17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

17 He aquí, vienen días en que todo lo que está en tu casa, y todo lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta hoy, será llevado a Babilonia, sin quedar nada, dice Jehová.

18 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

18 Y de los hijos que saldrán de ti, que tú habrás engendrado, los tomarán; y serán eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.

19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

19 Entonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: La palabra de Jehová que has hablado es buena. Después dijo: ¿No habrá paz y seguridad en mis días?

20 And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20 Los demás hechos de Ezequías, y todo su poderío, y cómo hizo el estanque y el acueducto y trajo las aguas en la ciudad, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

21 Y durmió Ezequías con sus padres, y reinó en su lugar su hijo Manasés.
