1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

1 Y Ezequías comenzó a reinar cuando tenía veinticinco años, y reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Abías hija de Zacarías.

2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done.

2 E hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todas las cosas que había hecho David, su padre.

3 He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them.

3 En el primer año de su reinado, en el mes primero, abrió las puertas de la casa de Jehová y las reparó.

4 And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street,

4 E hizo venir a los sacerdotes y a los levitas, y los reunió en la plaza oriental.

5 And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

5 Y les dijo: ¡Oídme, levitas! Santificaos ahora, y santificad la casa de Jehová, el Dios de vuestros padres, y sacad del lugar santo la inmundicia.

6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.

6 Porque nuestros padres se han rebelado y han hecho lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová nuestro Dios; y le han abandonado, y han apartado sus ojos del tabernáculo de Jehová y le han vuelto la espalda.

7 Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

7 Y aun han cerrado las puertas del pórtico, y han apagado las lámparas, y no han quemado incienso ni han ofrecido holocausto en el lugar santo al Dios de Israel.

8 Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

8 Por tanto, la ira de Jehová ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y los ha entregado a turbación, a horror y a escarnio, como lo veis vosotros con vuestros propios ojos.

9 For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

9 Y he aquí, nuestros padres han caído a espada, y nuestros hijos, y nuestras hijas y nuestras esposas están en cautiverio por esto.

10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

10 Ahora, pues, yo he determinado en mi corazón hacer convenio con Jehová, el Dios de Israel, para que aparte de nosotros el furor de su ira.

11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

11 Hijos míos, no seáis ahora negligentes, porque Jehová os ha escogido a vosotros para que estéis delante de él, y le sirváis, y seáis sus siervos y le queméis incienso.

12 Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites: and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehalelel: and of the Gershonites; Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah:

12 Entonces los levitas se levantaron, Mahat hijo de Amasai, y Joel hijo de Azarías, de los hijos de Coat; y de los hijos de Merari, Cis hijo de Abdi y Azarías hijo de Jehalelel; y de los hijos de Gersón, Joa hijo de Zima y Edén hijo de Joa;

13 And of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri, and Jeiel: and of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah, and Mattaniah:

13 y de los hijos de Elizafán, Simri y Jehiel; y de los hijos de Asaf, Zacarías y Matanías;

14 And of the sons of Heman; Jehiel, and Shimei: and of the sons of Jeduthun; Shemaiah, and Uzziel.

14 y de los hijos de Hemán, Jehiel y Simei; y de los hijos de Jedutún, Semaías y Uziel.

15 And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.

15 Y estos reunieron a sus hermanos, y se santificaron y entraron, conforme al mandamiento del rey según las palabras de Jehová, para limpiar la casa de Jehová.

16 And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron.

16 Y entraron los sacerdotes dentro de la casa de Jehová para limpiarla, y sacaron toda la inmundicia que hallaron en el templo de Jehová al atrio de la casa de Jehová; y de allí los levitas la llevaron fuera al torrente Cedrón.

17 Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

17 Y comenzaron la santificación el primero del mes primero, y a los ocho días del mismo mes vinieron al pórtico de Jehová; y santificaron la casa de Jehová en ocho días, y terminaron en el día dieciséis del mes primero.

18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

18 Entonces fueron ante el rey Ezequías y le dijeron: Ya hemos limpiado toda la casa de Jehová, el altar del holocausto y todos sus utensilios, y la mesa de la proposición con todos sus utensilios.

19 Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression, have we prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they are before the altar of the LORD.

19 Asimismo, hemos preparado y santificado todos los utensilios que en su infidelidad había desechado el rey Acaz, cuando reinaba; y he aquí, están delante del altar de Jehová.

20 Then Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.

20 Y levantándose de mañana, el rey Ezequías reunió a los principales de la ciudad y subió a la casa de Jehová.

21 And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

21 Y trajeron siete novillos, y siete carneros, y siete corderos y siete machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado, por el reino, y por el santuario y por Judá. Y dijo a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, que los ofreciesen sobre el altar de Jehová.

22 So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.

22 Mataron, pues, los novillos, y los sacerdotes recibieron la sangre y la esparcieron sobre el altar; mataron luego los carneros y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar; asimismo mataron los corderos y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar.

23 And they brought forth the he goats for the sin offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them:

23 Y trajeron los machos cabríos de la ofrenda por el pecado delante del rey y de la congregación, y pusieron sus manos sobre ellos;

24 And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

24 y los sacerdotes los mataron e hicieron ofrenda por el pecado con la sangre de ellos sobre el altar, para hacer expiación por todo Israel, porque el rey mandó ofrecer el holocausto y la ofrenda por el pecado a favor de todo Israel.

25 And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.

25 Puso también a los levitas en la casa de Jehová con címbalos, con salterios y con arpas, conforme al mandamiento de David y de Gad, el vidente del rey, y del profeta Natán, porque aquel mandamiento procedía de Jehová por medio de sus profetas.

26 And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

26 Y los levitas estaban con los instrumentos de David, y los sacerdotes con trompetas.

27 And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.

27 Entonces mandó Ezequías ofrecer el holocausto en el altar; y al tiempo que comenzó el holocausto, comenzó también el cántico de Jehová, con las trompetas y los instrumentos de David, rey de Israel.

28 And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

28 Y toda la congregación adoraba, y los cantores cantaban y las trompetas sonaban; todo esto duró hasta consumirse el holocausto.

29 And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.

29 Y cuando esto terminó, el rey y todos los que con él estaban se inclinaron y adoraron.

30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

30 Entonces el rey Ezequías y los principales dijeron a los levitas que alabasen a Jehová con las palabras de David y de Asaf, el vidente; y ellos alabaron con gran alegría, y se inclinaron y adoraron.

31 Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

31 Y respondiendo Ezequías, dijo: Vosotros os habéis consagrado ahora a Jehová; acercaos, pues, y presentad sacrificios y ofrendas de acción de gracias en la casa de Jehová. Y la congregación presentó sacrificios y ofrendas de acción de gracias, y todos los generosos de corazón trajeron holocaustos.

32 And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.

32 Y el número de los holocaustos que trajo la congregación fue de setenta novillos, cien carneros y doscientos corderos; todo para el holocausto de Jehová.

33 And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

33 Y las ofrendas consagradas fueron seiscientos novillos y tres mil ovejas.

34 But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

34 Pero los sacerdotes eran pocos y no bastaban para desollar los holocaustos, y sus hermanos los levitas les ayudaron hasta que acabaron la obra, y hasta que los sacerdotes se santificaron, porque los levitas fueron más rectos de corazón para santificarse que los sacerdotes.

35 And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.

35 Así, pues, hubo abundancia de holocaustos, con la grasa de las ofrendas de paz y las libaciones para cada holocausto. Y así quedó restablecido el servicio de la casa de Jehová.

36 And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

36 Y se alegró Ezequías y todo el pueblo de que Dios hubiese preparado al pueblo, porque la cosa fue hecha súbitamente.
