1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.

1 Tenía, pues, Josafat riquezas y gloria en abundancia, y se emparentó con Acab.

2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead.

2 Y después de algunos años descendió a Samaria para visitar a Acab; y mató Acab muchas ovejas y bueyes para él y para la gente que con él venía, y le persuadió a que fuese con él a Ramot de Galaad.

3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

3 Y dijo Acab, rey de Israel, a Josafat, rey de Judá: ¿Irás conmigo a Ramot de Galaad? Y él respondió: Yo soy como tú, y tu pueblo como mi pueblo; iremos contigo a la guerra.

4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

4 Y dijo Josafat al rey de Israel: Te ruego que consultes hoy la palabra de Jehová.

5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.

5 Entonces el rey de Israel reunió a cuatrocientos profetas y les preguntó: ¿Iremos a la guerra contra Ramot de Galaad, o debo desistir? Y ellos dijeron: Sube, porque Dios los entregará en manos del rey.

6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him?

6 Pero Josafat dijo: ¿No queda aún aquí algún profeta de Jehová, para que le preguntemos?

7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

7 Y el rey de Israel respondió a Josafat: Aún hay aquí un hombre por medio del cual podemos preguntar a Jehová; pero yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza el bien, sino siempre el mal. Es Micaías hijo de Imla. Y respondió Josafat: No hable así el rey.

8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.

8 Entonces el rey de Israel llamó a un oficial y le dijo: Haz venir pronto a Micaías hijo de Imla.

9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

9 Y el rey de Israel y Josafat, rey de Judá, estaban sentados cada uno en su trono, vestidos con sus ropas reales, y estaban sentados en la era a la entrada de la puerta de Samaria; y todos los profetas profetizaban delante de ellos.

10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.

10 Y Sedequías hijo de Quenaana se había hecho cuernos de hierro, y decía: Así ha dicho Jehová: Con estos acornearás a los sirios hasta destruirlos del todo.

11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

11 De esta manera profetizaban también todos los profetas, diciendo: Sube a Ramot de Galaad y prosperarás, porque Jehová la entregará en manos del rey.

12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.

12 Y el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Micaías le habló, diciendo: He aquí, las palabras de los profetas a una voz anuncian al rey el bien; yo, pues, te ruego que tu palabra sea como la de uno de ellos, y que anuncies el bien.

13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

13 Y dijo Micaías: Vive Jehová, que lo que mi Dios me diga, eso hablaré.

14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

14 Y cuando llegó al rey, le dijo: Micaías, ¿iremos a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad, o debo desistir? Y él respondió: Subid, porque seréis prosperados, pues serán entregados en vuestras manos.

15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?

15 Y el rey le dijo: ¿Cuántas veces he de hacerte jurar en el nombre de Jehová que no me hables sino la verdad?

16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.

16 Entonces él dijo: He visto a todo Israel esparcido por los montes como ovejas sin pastor; y dijo Jehová: Estos no tienen señor; vuelva cada uno en paz a su casa.

17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?

17 Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: ¿No te había yo dicho que no me profetizaría el bien, sino el mal?

18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

18 Entonces Micaías dijo: Oíd, pues, la palabra de Jehová: Yo he visto a Jehová sentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba a su mano derecha y a su izquierda.

19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

19 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Quién inducirá a Acab, rey de Israel, para que suba y caiga en Ramot de Galaad? Y uno decía así, y otro decía de otra manera.

20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?

20 Entonces salió un espíritu que se puso delante de Jehová y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y Jehová le dijo: ¿De qué modo?

21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the LORD said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

21 Y él dijo: Saldré y seré espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos sus profetas. Y Jehová dijo: Tú le inducirás y lo lograrás; sal y hazlo así.

22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.

22 Y ahora, he aquí, Jehová ha puesto espíritu de mentira en la boca de estos tus profetas; pues Jehová ha hablado el mal contra ti.

23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

23 Entonces Sedequías hijo de Quenaana se le acercó y golpeó a Micaías en la mejilla y dijo: ¿Por qué camino se apartó de mí el espíritu de Jehová para hablarte a ti?

24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

24 Y Micaías respondió: He aquí, tú lo verás aquel día cuando entres en un aposento interior para esconderte.

25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

25 Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Tomad a Micaías y llevadlo a Amón, gobernador de la ciudad, y a Joás, hijo del rey.

26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.

26 Y diréis: El rey ha dicho así: Poned a este en la cárcel y sustentadle con pan de aflicción y agua de angustia, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.

27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.

27 Y Micaías dijo: Si en verdad vuelves en paz, Jehová no ha hablado por mí. Dijo además: Oíd, pueblos todos.

28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.

28 Subió, pues, el rey de Israel con Josafat, rey de Judá, a Ramot de Galaad.

29 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.

29 Y dijo el rey de Israel a Josafat: Yo me disfrazaré para entrar en la batalla, pero tú vístete con tus ropas. Y se disfrazó el rey de Israel, y entraron en la batalla.

30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.

30 Y el rey de Siria había mandado a los capitanes de los carros que tenía consigo, diciendo: No peleéis con pequeño ni con grande, sino solo con el rey de Israel.

31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

31 Y sucedió que cuando los capitanes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: Este es el rey de Israel. Y lo rodearon para pelear; pero Josafat clamó y Jehová lo ayudó, y Dios los apartó de él.

32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.

32 Y aconteció que al ver los capitanes de los carros que no era el rey de Israel, dejaron de perseguirle.

33 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

33 Pero un hombre disparó el arco al azar e hirió al rey de Israel entre las junturas de la armadura. Él entonces dijo al que conducía el carro: Vuelve tu mano y sácame del campo, porque estoy mal herido.

34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.

34 Y arreció la batalla aquel día, y el rey de Israel se mantuvo en pie en el carro frente a los sirios hasta la tarde; y murió al ponerse el sol.
