1 And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

1 Y Salomón hijo de David fue afirmado en su reino; y Jehová su Dios estaba con él y le engrandeció sobremanera.

2 Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.

2 Y habló Salomón a todo Israel, a los jefes de millares, y de centenas, y a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, jefes de las casas paternas.

3 So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.

3 Y fue Salomón, y con él toda esta congregación, al lugar alto que había en Gabaón, porque allí estaba el tabernáculo de reunión de Dios que Moisés, siervo de Jehová, había hecho en el desierto.

4 But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

4 Pero David había traído el arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim al lugar que él le había preparado, porque él le había levantado una tienda en Jerusalén.

5 Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

5 Asimismo el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezaleel hijo de Uri, hijo de Hur, estaba allí delante del tabernáculo de Jehová, al cual fue a consultar Salomón con aquella congregación.

6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

6 Y subió Salomón allá delante de Jehová, al altar de bronce que estaba en el tabernáculo de reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.

7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

7 Y aquella noche se le apareció Dios a Salomón y le dijo: Pide lo que quieras que yo te dé.

8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.

8 Y Salomón dijo a Dios: Tú has hecho con David, mi padre, gran misericordia, y a mí me has hecho rey en lugar suyo.

9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

9 Ahora pues, oh Jehová Dios, que se cumpla tu palabra dada a David, mi padre, porque tú me has hecho rey sobre un pueblo tan numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.

10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

10 Dame ahora sabiduría y conocimiento, para salir y entrar delante de este pueblo, porque, ¿quién podrá juzgar a este tu pueblo tan grande?

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

11 Y dijo Dios a Salomón: Por cuanto esto ha estado en tu corazón, y no pediste riquezas, bienes ni gloria, ni la vida de tus enemigos, ni pediste muchos días, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y conocimiento para juzgar a mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he hecho rey,

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

12 sabiduría y conocimiento te son dados; y también te daré riquezas, y bienes y gloria, como nunca tuvieron los reyes que han sido antes de ti, ni tendrán los que vengan después de ti.

13 Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

13 Y volvió Salomón a Jerusalén desde el lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, delante del tabernáculo de reunión, y reinó sobre Israel.

14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

14 Y juntó Salomón carros y gente de a caballo; y tuvo mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros y con el rey en Jerusalén.

15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

15 E hizo el rey que hubiera en Jerusalén tanta plata y tanto oro como piedras, y que abundaran los cedros como los sicómoros que nacen en los campos.

16 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

16 Y hacían traer caballos de Egipto y de Coa para Salomón, porque los mercaderes del rey los compraban allí.

17 And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

17 Y subían y traían de Egipto un carro por seiscientas piezas de plata y un caballo por ciento cincuenta; y así los traían por medio de ellos todos los reyes de los heteos y los reyes de Siria.
