1 Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel.

1 Y los filisteos reunieron todas sus fuerzas en Afec, e Israel acampó junto a la fuente que está en Jezreel.

2 And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands: but David and his men passed on in the rearward with Achish.

2 Y cuando los príncipes de los filisteos pasaban revista a sus compañías de a ciento y de a mil hombres, David y sus hombres iban en la retaguardia con Aquis.

3 Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day?

3 Y dijeron los príncipes de los filisteos: ¿Qué hacen aquí estos hebreos? Y Aquis respondió a los príncipes de los filisteos: ¿No es este, David, el siervo de Saúl, rey de Israel, que ha estado conmigo por días o por años, y no he hallado falta en él desde el día en que se pasó a mí hasta hoy?

4 And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?

4 Entonces los príncipes de los filisteos se enojaron contra él y le dijeron: Despide a este hombre, para que vuelva al lugar que le señalaste y no venga con nosotros a la batalla, no sea que en la batalla se vuelva enemigo nuestro; porque, ¿con qué cosa volvería mejor a la gracia de su señor que con las cabezas de estos hombres?

5 Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

5 ¿No es este, David, de quien cantaban en las danzas, diciendo: Saúl hirió a sus miles, y David a sus diez miles?

6 Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.

6 Y Aquis llamó a David y le dijo: Vive Jehová, que tú has sido recto, y me ha parecido bien tu salida y tu entrada en el campamento conmigo, pues ninguna cosa mala he hallado en ti desde que viniste a mí hasta el día de hoy; pero ante los ojos de los príncipes no eres grato.

7 Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines.

7 Vuelve, pues, y vete en paz; y no hagas lo malo ante los ojos de los príncipes de los filisteos.

8 And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?

8 Y David le respondió a Aquis: ¿Qué he hecho? ¿Qué has hallado en tu siervo desde el día en que estoy contigo hasta el día de hoy, para que yo no vaya y pelee contra los enemigos de mi señor el rey?

9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.

9 Y Aquis respondió a David y dijo: Yo sé que tú eres bueno ante mis ojos, como un ángel de Dios; pero los príncipes de los filisteos han dicho: No venga él con nosotros a la batalla.

10 Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master's servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.

10 Levántate, pues, de mañana, tú y los siervos de tu señor que han venido contigo; y levantaos de mañana y partid al amanecer.

11 So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

11 Y se levantó David muy de mañana, él y sus hombres, para irse y regresar a la tierra de los filisteos; y los filisteos fueron a Jezreel.
