1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.

1 Y dieron aviso a David, diciendo: He aquí que los filisteos combaten contra Keila y roban las eras.

2 Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.

2 Y David consultó a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré a atacar a estos filisteos? Y Jehová respondió a David: Ve, ataca a los filisteos y libra a Keila.

3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

3 Pero los que estaban con David le dijeron: He aquí que nosotros aquí en Judá estamos con miedo; ¿cuánto más si vamos a Keila contra el ejército de los filisteos?

4 Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

4 Entonces David volvió a consultar a Jehová. Y Jehová le respondió y dijo: Levántate, desciende a Keila, porque yo entregaré en tus manos a los filisteos.

5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

5 Partió, pues, David con sus hombres a Keila, y peleó contra los filisteos, y se llevó sus ganados y los hirió con gran mortandad; y libró David a los habitantes de Keila.

6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.

6 Y aconteció que cuando Abiatar hijo de Ahimelec huyó adonde estaba David, en Keila, descendió con un efod en la mano.

7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.

7 Y le fue dicho a Saúl que David había venido a Keila. Entonces dijo Saúl: Dios lo ha entregado en mis manos, porque él mismo se ha encerrado, habiendo entrado en una ciudad con puertas y cerraduras.

8 And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.

8 Y convocó Saúl a todo el pueblo a la batalla para descender a Keila y poner sitio a David y a sus hombres.

9 And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.

9 Mas entendiendo David que Saúl ideaba el mal contra él, dijo al sacerdote Abiatar: Trae el efod.

10 Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.

10 Y dijo David: Oh Jehová Dios de Israel, tu siervo tiene entendido que Saúl trata de venir contra Keila para destruir la ciudad por causa mía.

11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.

11 ¿Me entregarán los señores de Keila en sus manos? ¿Descenderá Saúl, como tu siervo ha oído? Oh Jehová Dios de Israel, te ruego que lo declares a tu siervo. Y Jehová dijo: Sí, descenderá.

12 Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.

12 Dijo luego David: ¿Me entregarán los de Keila a mí y a mis hombres en manos de Saúl? Y Jehová respondió: Os entregarán.

13 Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.

13 David entonces se levantó con sus hombres, que eran como seiscientos, y salieron de Keila y anduvieron de una parte a otra. Y llegó la nueva a Saúl de que David se había escapado de Keila, y desistió de salir.

14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.

14 Y David se quedó en el desierto, en lugares fuertes, y habitaba en la región montañosa del desierto de Zif; y lo buscaba Saúl todos los días, pero Dios no lo entregó en sus manos.

15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.

15 Viendo, pues, David que Saúl había salido en busca de su vida, se quedó él en Hores, en el desierto de Zif.

16 And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

16 Entonces se levantó Jonatán hijo de Saúl y fue a David en Hores, y fortaleció su mano en Dios.

17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.

17 Y le dijo: No temas, porque no te hallará la mano de Saúl mi padre, y tú reinarás sobre Israel, y yo seré segundo después de ti; y aun Saúl mi padre así lo sabe.

18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.

18 Y ambos hicieron un pacto delante de Jehová; y David se quedó en Hores, y Jonatán se volvió a su casa.

19 Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?

19 Y subieron los de Zif a decir a Saúl en Gabaa: ¿No está David escondido en nuestra tierra en las peñas de Hores, en el collado de Haquila, que está al sur de Jesimón?

20 Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand.

20 Por tanto, oh rey, desciende ahora pronto, conforme a todo el deseo de tu alma, y nosotros lo entregaremos en manos del rey.

21 And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.

21 Y Saúl dijo: Benditos seáis vosotros de Jehová, porque habéis tenido compasión de mí.

22 Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.

22 Id, os ruego; aseguraos bien, averiguad y ved el lugar de su escondite y quién lo ha visto allí, porque se me ha dicho que él es astuto en gran manera.

23 See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.

23 Observad, pues, y averiguad acerca de todos los escondrijos donde se oculta; y volved a mí con la información precisa, y yo iré con vosotros. Y acontecerá que si él está en la región, yo le buscaré entre todos los millares de Judá.

24 And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.

24 Y ellos se levantaron y se fueron a Zif delante de Saúl. Pero David y su gente estaban en el desierto de Maón, en la llanura que está al sur de Jesimón.

25 Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.

25 Y partió Saúl con su gente a buscarlo; pero fue dado aviso a David, y este descendió a la peña y se quedó en el desierto de Maón. Y cuando Saúl oyó esto, persiguió a David en el desierto de Maón.

26 And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.

26 Y Saúl iba por un lado del monte, y David con los suyos, por el otro lado del monte; y se daba prisa David para escapar de Saúl, porque Saúl y los suyos habían rodeado a David y a su gente para capturarlos.

27 But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.

27 Entonces llegó un mensajero a Saúl, diciendo: Ven pronto, porque los filisteos han hecho una incursión en el país.

28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela-hammahlekoth.

28 Volvió, por tanto, Saúl de perseguir a David y partió contra los filisteos. Por esta causa pusieron por nombre a aquel lugar Sela-hama-lecot.

29 And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at En-gedi.

29 Entonces David subió de allí y habitó en los lugares fuertes en En-gadi.
