1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

1 Entonces reunió Salomón ante sí, en Jerusalén, a los ancianos de Israel, y a todos los jefes de las tribus y a los principales de las familias de los hijos de Israel, para hacer subir el arca del convenio de Jehová de la ciudad de David, que es Sion.

2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

2 Y se reunieron ante el rey Salomón todos los hombres de Israel en la fiesta del mes de Etanim, que es el mes séptimo.

3 And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

3 Y llegaron todos los ancianos de Israel, y los sacerdotes levantaron el arca.

4 And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

4 Y llevaron el arca de Jehová, y el tabernáculo de reunión y todos los utensilios sagrados que estaban en el tabernáculo, los cuales llevaban los sacerdotes y los levitas.

5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

5 Y el rey Salomón, y toda la congregación de Israel que ante él se había reunido, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando ovejas y bueyes, que por la cantidad no se podían contar ni numerar.

6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

6 Y los sacerdotes llevaron el arca del convenio de Jehová a su lugar en el santuario de la casa, en el lugar santísimo, debajo de las alas de los querubines.

7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

7 Porque los querubines tenían extendidas las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y así cubrían los querubines el arca y sus varas por encima.

8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

8 Y sacaron las varas de manera que los extremos de las varas se dejaban ver desde el lugar santo, que estaba delante del lugar santísimo, pero no se veían desde afuera; y así han quedado hasta hoy.

9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

9 En el arca no había ninguna cosa aparte de las dos tablas de piedra que allí había puesto Moisés en Horeb, donde Jehová hizo un convenio con los hijos de Israel, cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

10 Y aconteció que cuando los sacerdotes salieron del santuario, la nube llenó la casa de Jehová.

11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

11 Y los sacerdotes no pudieron permanecer para ministrar a causa de la nube, porque la gloria de Jehová había llenado la casa de Jehová.

12 Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

12 Entonces dijo Salomón: Jehová ha dicho que él habitaría en la oscuridad de la nube.

13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

13 Ciertamente he edificado una casa majestuosa, una morada para ti, lugar en el que tú habites para siempre.

14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

14 Y volvió el rey su rostro y bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel; y toda la congregación de Israel estaba de pie.

15 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

15 Y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová, Dios de Israel, que habló con su boca a David, mi padre, y con su mano lo ha cumplido, diciendo:

16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

16 Desde el día en que saqué a mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no he escogido ciudad de todas las tribus de Israel para edificar una casa en la cual estuviese mi nombre, aunque escogí a David para que gobernase sobre mi pueblo Israel.

17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

17 Y mi padre David tuvo en el corazón edificar una casa al nombre de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

18 Pero Jehová dijo a David, mi padre: Por cuanto tuviste en tu corazón edificar una casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho en tener tal deseo en tu corazón;

19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

19 pero tú no edificarás la casa, sino tu hijo que saldrá de tus lomos, él edificará la casa a mi nombre.

20 And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

20 Y Jehová ha cumplido su palabra que había dicho; porque yo me he levantado en lugar de David, mi padre, y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como Jehová había dicho, y he edificado la casa al nombre de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

21 Y he dispuesto un lugar allí para el arca, en la cual está el convenio de Jehová que él hizo con nuestros padres cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.

22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

22 Entonces se puso Salomón delante del altar de Jehová, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendiendo sus manos al cielo,

23 And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

23 dijo: Oh Jehová Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú, ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el convenio y la misericordia a tus siervos que andan delante de ti con todo su corazón;

24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

24 que has cumplido a tu siervo David, mi padre, lo que le dijiste; lo dijiste con tu boca y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como sucede en este día.

25 Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

25 Ahora, pues, oh Jehová, Dios de Israel, cumple a tu siervo David, mi padre, lo que le prometiste, diciendo: No te faltará varón delante de mí que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino y anden delante de mí como tú has andado delante de mí.

26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

26 Ahora, pues, oh Dios de Israel, te ruego que se cumpla tu palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David, mi padre.

27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

27 Pero, ¿es verdad que Dios morará sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, y los cielos de los cielos, no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta casa que yo he edificado?

28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

28 Con todo, tú atenderás a la oración de tu siervo y a su plegaria, oh Jehová, Dios mío, escuchando el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti:

29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

29 que estén tus ojos abiertos de noche y de día sobre esta casa, sobre este lugar del cual has dicho: Mi nombre estará allí; y que escuches la oración que tu siervo haga hacia este lugar.

30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

30 Escucha, pues, la oración de tu siervo y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oren hacia este lugar, escucha tú en el lugar de tu habitación en los cielos; escucha y perdona.

31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

31 Si alguno peca contra su prójimo, y le toman juramento haciéndole jurar, y llega el juramento ante tu altar en esta casa,

32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

32 escucha desde el cielo, y actúa, y juzga a tus siervos, condenando al malvado, haciendo recaer su proceder sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo para darle conforme a su justicia.

33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:

33 Cuando tu pueblo Israel caiga delante de sus enemigos, por haber pecado contra ti, y se vuelva a ti y confiese tu nombre, y ore, y te ruegue y te suplique en esta casa,

34 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

34 entonces escucha tú en los cielos, y perdona el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y hazlos volver a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

35 Cuando el cielo se cierre y no llueva, por haber ellos pecado contra ti, y oren hacia este lugar, y confiesen tu nombre, y se vuelvan de su pecado, cuando tú los aflijas,

36 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

36 escucha tú en los cielos, y perdona el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, para que les enseñes el buen camino por el que deben andar; y envía lluvias sobre tu tierra, la cual diste a tu pueblo por heredad.

37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

37 Si en la tierra hay hambre, o pestilencia, o tizoncillo, o añublo, o langosta o saltamontes; y si sus enemigos los sitian en la tierra de sus ciudades, cualquier plaga o enfermedad que haya,

38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

38 toda oración y toda súplica que haga cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sienta el remordimiento de su corazón, y extienda sus manos hacia esta casa,

39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

39 escucha tú en los cielos, en el lugar de tu morada, y perdona, y actúa, y da a cada uno conforme a sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces (porque solo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres);

40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

40 para que te teman todos los días que vivan sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres.

41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;

41 Asimismo el extranjero, que no sea de tu pueblo Israel, que haya venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu nombre

42 (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

42 (porque oirán de tu gran nombre, y de tu mano poderosa, y de tu brazo extendido), y llegue a orar a esta casa,

43 Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

43 escucha tú en los cielos, en el lugar de tu morada, y haz conforme a todo aquello por lo cual el extranjero haya clamado a ti, para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre y te teman, como tu pueblo Israel, y entiendan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que yo he edificado.

44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

44 Si tu pueblo sale a la batalla contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú los envíes, y oran a Jehová hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la casa que yo he edificado a tu nombre,

45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

45 escucha tú en los cielos su oración y su súplica, y hazles justicia.

46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

46 Si pecan contra ti (porque no hay hombre que no peque), y tú, airado contra ellos, los entregas al enemigo, para que los lleven cautivos a tierra enemiga, sea lejos o cerca,

47 Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

47 y si ellos vuelven en sí en la tierra adonde los hayan llevado cautivos, si se arrepienten, y oran a ti en la tierra de los que los llevaron cautivos y dicen: Hemos pecado, hemos hecho lo malo, hemos cometido iniquidad;

48 And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

48 y si se vuelven a ti de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, en la tierra de sus enemigos que los hayan llevado cautivos, y oran a ti hacia su tierra, que tú diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste y la casa que yo he edificado a tu nombre,

49 Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

49 escucha tú en los cielos, en el lugar de tu morada, su oración y su súplica, y hazles justicia;

50 And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

50 y perdona a tu pueblo que ha pecado contra ti, y todas las transgresiones que hayan cometido contra ti; y haz que tengan de ellos misericordia los que los hayan llevado cautivos para que tengan compasión de ellos,

51 For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

51 porque ellos son tu pueblo y tu heredad que tú sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro.

52 That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.

52 Estén tus ojos abiertos a la oración de tu siervo, y a la plegaria de tu pueblo Israel, para escucharlos en todo aquello por lo que te invoquen;

53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.

53 pues tú los apartaste para ti como heredad tuya de entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, como lo dijiste por medio de Moisés tu siervo, cuando tú sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor Jehová.

54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

54 Y sucedió que cuando acabó Salomón de hacer a Jehová toda esta oración y súplica, se levantó de delante del altar de Jehová, de estar de rodillas con sus manos extendidas hacia el cielo.

55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

55 Y puesto en pie, bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel, diciendo en voz alta:

56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

56 ¡Bendito sea Jehová, que ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que él había dicho! Ninguna palabra de todas sus promesas que expresó por Moisés, su siervo, ha faltado.

57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

57 Esté con nosotros Jehová nuestro Dios, como estuvo con nuestros padres, y no nos desampare ni nos deje;

58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

58 incline nuestro corazón hacia él, para que andemos en todos sus caminos y guardemos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos y sus decretos, los cuales mandó a nuestros padres.

59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

59 Y que estas mis palabras con que he orado delante de Jehová estén cerca de Jehová nuestro Dios de día y de noche, para que él proteja la causa de su siervo, y de su pueblo Israel, según la necesidad de cada día,

60 That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

60 a fin de que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que Jehová es Dios, y que no hay otro.

61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

61 Sea, pues, perfecto vuestro corazón para con Jehová nuestro Dios, andando en sus estatutos y guardando sus mandamientos, como en el día de hoy.

62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

62 Entonces el rey, y todo Israel con él, ofrecieron sacrificios delante de Jehová.

63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

63 Y sacrificó Salomón como ofrendas de paz, las cuales ofreció a Jehová, veintidós mil bueyes y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así dedicaron el rey y todos los hijos de Israel la casa de Jehová.

64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

64 Aquel mismo día santificó el rey la parte central del atrio que estaba delante de la casa de Jehová, porque ofreció allí los holocaustos, y las ofrendas y la grasa de las ofrendas de paz, por cuanto el altar de bronce que estaba delante de Jehová era pequeño y no cabían en él los holocaustos, y las ofrendas y la grasa de las ofrendas de paz.

65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

65 En aquel tiempo Salomón hizo fiesta, y con él todo Israel, una gran congregación, desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el río de Egipto, delante de Jehová nuestro Dios, durante siete días y otros siete días, esto es, durante catorce días.

66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

66 Y al octavo día despidió al pueblo, y ellos, bendiciendo al rey, se fueron a sus casas alegres y gozosos de corazón por todo el bien que Jehová había hecho a David, su siervo, y a su pueblo Israel.
