1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

1 Y aconteció que en el año cuatrocientos ochenta después que los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto, el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el mes segundo, comenzó él a edificar la casa de Jehová.

2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

2 Y la casa que el rey Salomón edificó a Jehová tenía sesenta codos de largo, y veinte de ancho y treinta codos de alto.

3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

3 Y el pórtico delante del templo de la casa tenía veinte codos de largo, según la anchura de la casa, y su ancho delante de la casa era de diez codos.

4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

4 E hizo a la casa ventanas anchas por dentro, y estrechas por fuera.

5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

5 Edificó también aposentos junto a las paredes de la casa y a su alrededor, adosados a las paredes de la casa alrededor del templo y del lugar santísimo; e hizo cuartos laterales alrededor.

6 The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

6 El aposento de abajo tenía cinco codos de ancho, y el de en medio, seis codos de ancho, y el tercero, siete codos de ancho, porque por fuera había hecho paredes escalonadas alrededor de la casa, para no empotrar las vigas en las paredes de la casa.

7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

7 Y cuando se edificó la casa, la construyeron de piedras que traían ya acabadas, de tal manera que cuando la edificaban, ni martillos ni hachas se oyeron en la casa, ni ningún otro instrumento de hierro.

8 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

8 La puerta del aposento de en medio estaba al lado derecho de la casa; y se subía por una escalera de caracol al aposento de en medio, y de allí al tercero.

9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

9 Construyó, pues, la casa y la terminó; y recubrió la casa con vigas y tablas de cedro.

10 And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

10 Y así edificó aposentos de cinco codos de altura alrededor de toda la casa, todo lo cual se apoyaba en la casa con vigas de cedro.

11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

11 Y vino la palabra de Jehová a Salomón, diciendo:

12 Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

12 Con respecto a esta casa que tú edificas, si andas en mis estatutos, y cumples mis decretos y guardas todos mis mandamientos andando en ellos, yo cumpliré contigo mi palabra que hablé a David, tu padre;

13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

13 y habitaré en medio de los hijos de Israel y no abandonaré a mi pueblo Israel.

14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

14 Así, pues, Salomón construyó la casa y la terminó.

15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the ceiling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

15 Y recubrió las paredes de la casa con tablas de cedro, revistiéndola de madera por dentro, desde el suelo de la casa hasta las paredes del techo; recubrió también el suelo con madera de ciprés.

16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

16 Asimismo edificó los veinte codos del fondo de la casa con tablas de cedro, desde el suelo hasta el techo; así hizo en la casa un santuario interior, que es el lugar santísimo.

17 And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

17 Y la casa, esto es, la parte delantera interior, tenía cuarenta codos.

18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

18 Y la casa estaba recubierta de cedro por dentro, y tenía entalladuras de calabazas silvestres y de botones de flores. Todo era cedro; ninguna piedra se veía.

19 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

19 Y preparó por dentro el lugar santísimo, que estaba en el interior de la casa, para poner allí el arca del convenio de Jehová.

20 And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

20 Y el lugar santísimo tenía veinte codos de largo, y veinte de ancho y veinte de altura; y lo revistió de oro purísimo; asimismo recubrió el altar de cedro.

21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

21 De manera que Salomón recubrió de oro puro la casa por dentro, y cerró la entrada del lugar santísimo con cadenas de oro, y lo recubrió de oro.

22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

22 Recubrió, pues, de oro toda la casa hasta terminarla; y asimismo recubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba delante del lugar santísimo.

23 And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

23 E hizo también en el lugar santísimo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de diez codos de altura.

24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

24 Un ala del querubín tenía cinco codos y la otra ala del querubín, otros cinco codos; así que había diez codos desde la punta de un ala hasta la punta de la otra.

25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.

25 Asimismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos, porque ambos querubines eran de un mismo tamaño y de una misma hechura.

26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

26 La altura de uno era de diez codos, y asimismo la del otro.

27 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

27 Y puso los querubines en medio del lugar santísimo, los cuales tenían extendidas sus alas, de modo que el ala de uno tocaba una pared, y el ala del otro querubín tocaba la otra pared, y las otras dos alas se tocaban la una a la otra en medio de la casa.

28 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.

28 Y recubrió de oro los querubines.

29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

29 Y talló todas las paredes de la casa alrededor con grabados de figuras de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, por dentro y por fuera.

30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

30 Y recubrió de oro el piso de la casa, por dentro y por fuera.

31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

31 Y a la entrada del lugar santísimo hizo puertas de madera de olivo; y el dintel y los postes tenían cinco esquinas.

32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

32 Las dos puertas eran de madera de olivo; y talló en ellas figuras de querubines, y de palmeras y de botones de flores, y las recubrió de oro; y recubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmeras.

33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

33 Igualmente hizo para la puerta del templo postes cuadrados de madera de olivo.

34 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

34 Y las dos puertas eran de madera de ciprés; y las dos hojas de una puerta eran plegadizas, y las dos hojas de la otra puerta también eran plegadizas.

35 And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

35 Y talló en ellas querubines, y palmeras y botones de flores, y recubrió de oro laminado los grabados.

36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

36 Y edificó el atrio interior con tres hileras de piedras labradas, y con una hilera de vigas de cedro.

37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:

37 En el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, puso los cimientos de la casa de Jehová.

38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.

38 Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fue terminada la casa con todos los detalles y con todo lo especificado. La edificó, pues, en siete años.
