1 And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.

1 Tres años pasaron sin guerra entre los sirios e Israel.

2 And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.

2 Y aconteció al tercer año, que Josafat, rey de Judá, descendió a visitar al rey de Israel.

3 And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?

3 Y el rey de Israel dijo a sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que Ramot de Galaad es nuestra, y nosotros no hemos hecho nada para tomarla de manos del rey de Siria?

4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth-gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

4 Y dijo a Josafat: ¿Quieres venir conmigo a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad? Y Josafat respondió al rey de Israel: Yo soy como tú, mi pueblo como tu pueblo, y mis caballos como tus caballos.

5 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

5 Y dijo Josafat al rey de Israel: Yo te ruego que consultes hoy la palabra de Jehová.

6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

6 Entonces el rey de Israel reunió a los profetas, como cuatrocientos hombres, a los cuales dijo: ¿Iré a la guerra contra Ramot de Galaad o la dejaré? Y ellos dijeron: Sube, porque el Señor la entregará en manos del rey.

7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him?

7 Y dijo Josafat: ¿Hay aún aquí algún profeta de Jehová, por medio del cual consultemos?

8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

8 Y el rey de Israel respondió a Josafat: Aún hay un hombre por medio del cual podríamos consultar a Jehová, Micaías hijo de Imla; pero yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza el bien, sino solamente el mal. Y Josafat dijo: No hable el rey así.

9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah.

9 Entonces el rey de Israel llamó a un oficial y le dijo: Trae pronto a Micaías hijo de Imla.

10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

10 Y el rey de Israel y Josafat, rey de Judá, estaban sentados cada uno en su silla, vestidos con sus ropas reales, en una era a la entrada de la puerta de Samaria; y todos los profetas profetizaban delante de ellos.

11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.

11 Y Sedequías hijo de Quenaana se había hecho unos cuernos de hierro y dijo: Así dice Jehová: Con estos acornearás a los sirios hasta acabarlos.

12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.

12 Y todos los profetas profetizaban de la misma manera, diciendo: Sube a Ramot de Galaad y serás prosperado, porque Jehová la entregará en manos del rey.

13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.

13 Y el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Micaías le habló, diciendo: He aquí que las palabras de los profetas a una voz anuncian al rey el bien; sea ahora tu palabra conforme a la palabra de alguno de ellos, y anuncia el bien.

14 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

14 Y Micaías respondió: Vive Jehová, que lo que Jehová me hable, eso diré.

15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

15 Vino, pues, al rey, y el rey le dijo: Micaías, ¿iremos a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad o la dejaremos? Y él respondió: Sube, y serás prosperado, y Jehová la entregará en manos del rey.

16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

16 Y el rey le dijo: ¿Hasta cuántas veces he de hacerte jurar que no me digas sino la verdad en el nombre de Jehová?

17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.

17 Entonces él dijo: Yo vi a todo Israel esparcido por los montes, como ovejas que no tienen pastor; y Jehová dijo: Estos no tienen señor; vuelva cada uno a su casa en paz.

18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?

18 Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: ¿No te lo había yo dicho? Ninguna cosa buena profetizará él acerca de mí, sino solamente el mal.

19 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

19 Entonces Micaías dijo: Oye, pues, la palabra de Jehová: Yo vi a Jehová sentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba junto a él, a su derecha y a su izquierda.

20 And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.

20 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Quién inducirá a Acab, para que suba y caiga en Ramot de Galaad? Y uno decía de una manera, y otro decía de otra.

21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.

21 Y salió un espíritu, y se puso delante de Jehová y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y Jehová le dijo: ¿De qué manera?

22 And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

22 Y él dijo: Yo saldré y seré espíritu de mentira en boca de todos sus profetas. Y él dijo: Lo inducirás, y aun lo conseguirás; ve, pues, y hazlo así.

23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

23 Y ahora, he aquí Jehová ha puesto espíritu de mentira en boca de todos estos tus profetas, y Jehová ha decretado el mal acerca de ti.

24 But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

24 Entonces se acercó Sedequías hijo de Quenaana, y golpeó a Micaías en la mejilla, diciendo: ¿Por dónde se fue de mí el espíritu de Jehová para hablarte a ti?

25 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

25 Y Micaías respondió: He aquí, tú lo verás en aquel día, cuando te metas en un aposento interior para esconderte.

26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

26 Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Toma a Micaías y llévalo ante Amón, gobernador de la ciudad, y ante Joás, hijo del rey;

27 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.

27 y dirás: Así ha dicho el rey: Echad a este en la cárcel, y mantenedle con pan de angustia y con agua de aflicción, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.

28 And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

28 Y dijo Micaías: Si llegas a volver en paz, Jehová no ha hablado por mí. Enseguida dijo: ¡Oíd, pueblos todos!

29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.

29 Subió, pues, el rey de Israel con Josafat, rey de Judá, a Ramot de Galaad.

30 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

30 Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: Yo me disfrazaré y entraré en la batalla; y tú ponte tus vestidos. Y el rey de Israel se disfrazó y entró en la batalla.

31 But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

31 Pero el rey de Siria había mandado a sus treinta y dos capitanes de los carros, diciendo: No peleéis vosotros ni con grande ni con chico, sino solo contra el rey de Israel.

32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.

32 Y sucedió que cuando los capitanes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: Ciertamente este es el rey de Israel; y se volvieron a él para pelear con él; pero el rey Josafat gritó.

33 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

33 Y aconteció que al ver los capitanes de los carros que no era el rey de Israel, se apartaron de él.

34 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

34 Y un hombre disparó su arco al azar e hirió al rey de Israel por entre las junturas de la armadura, por lo que dijo él a su cochero: Da la vuelta y sácame del campo, que estoy herido.

35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.

35 Pero la batalla había arreciado aquel día, y el rey tuvo que ser sostenido en su carro delante de los sirios, y al atardecer murió, y la sangre de la herida corría por el fondo del carro.

36 And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.

36 Y a la puesta del sol salió un pregón por el campamento, diciendo: ¡Cada uno a su ciudad, y cada cual a su tierra!

37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.

37 Y murió, pues, el rey, y fue llevado a Samaria; y sepultaron al rey en Samaria.

38 And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.

38 Y lavaron el carro en el estanque de Samaria; lavaron también sus armas; y los perros lamieron su sangre, conforme a la palabra que Jehová había hablado.

39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

39 Los demás hechos de Acab, y todas las cosas que hizo, y la casa de marfil que construyó y todas las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

40 Y durmió Acab con sus padres, y reinó en su lugar Ocozías, su hijo.

41 And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

41 Y Josafat hijo de Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá en el cuarto año de Acab, rey de Israel.

42 Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

42 Y tenía Josafat treinta y cinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó veinticinco años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Azuba hija de Silhi.

43 And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.

43 Y anduvo en todo el camino de Asa, su padre, sin desviarse de él, haciendo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová. Con todo eso los lugares altos no fueron quitados, y el pueblo aún sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos.

44 And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.

44 Y Josafat hizo la paz con el rey de Israel.

45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

45 Los demás hechos de Josafat, y sus hazañas y las guerras que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

46 And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.

46 Barrió también de la tierra el resto de los sodomitas que habían quedado en el tiempo de su padre Asa.

47 There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king.

47 No había entonces rey en Edom; había gobernador en lugar de rey.

48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.

48 Josafat había hecho naves en Tarsis, las cuales habían de ir a Ofir por oro; pero no fueron, porque se rompieron en Ezión-geber.

49 Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

49 Entonces Ocozías hijo de Acab dijo a Josafat: Vayan mis siervos con los tuyos en las naves. Pero Josafat no quiso.

50 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

50 Y durmió Josafat con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David, su padre; y en su lugar reinó Joram, su hijo.

51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.

51 Y Ocozías hijo de Acab comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en Samaria el año diecisiete de Josafat, rey de Judá, y reinó dos años sobre Israel.

52 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:

52 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de su padre, y en el camino de su madre y en el camino de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar a Israel,

53 For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.

53 porque sirvió a Baal y lo adoró, y provocó a ira a Jehová, Dios de Israel, conforme a todas las cosas que su padre había hecho.
