1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

1 Y en el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

2 Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

2 Reinó tres años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Maaca hija de Abisalom.

3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

3 Y anduvo en todos los pecados que su padre había cometido antes de él; y su corazón no fue perfecto para con Jehová, su Dios, como el corazón de su padre David.

4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

4 Pero por amor a David, le dio Jehová, su Dios, lámpara en Jerusalén, al levantar a su hijo después de él y al sostener a Jerusalén;

5 Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

5 por cuanto David había hecho lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, y de ninguna cosa que le había mandado se había apartado en todos los días de su vida, excepto en el asunto de Urías, el heteo.

6 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

6 Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.

7 Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

7 Los demás hechos de Abiam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.

8 And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

8 Y durmió Abiam con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David; y reinó Asa, su hijo, en su lugar.

9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

9 En el año veinte de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

10 And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

10 Y reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalén; y el nombre de su madre era Maaca hija de Abisalom.

11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

11 Y Asa hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, como David, su padre,

12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

12 porque quitó a los sodomitas de la tierra y quitó todos los ídolos que sus padres habían hecho.

13 And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

13 Y también privó a su madre Maaca de ser reina, porque había hecho un ídolo de Asera. Además, deshizo Asa el ídolo de su madre y lo quemó junto al torrente Cedrón.

14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

14 Sin embargo, los lugares altos no fueron quitados; con todo, el corazón de Asa fue perfecto para con Jehová toda su vida.

15 And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

15 También puso en la casa de Jehová lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él mismo dedicó: oro, y plata y utensilios.

16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

16 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todos sus días.

17 And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

17 Y subió Baasa, rey de Israel, contra Judá, y fortificó Ramá para no dejar que ninguno se comunicara con Asa, rey de Judá.

18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

18 Entonces tomó Asa toda la plata y todo el oro que habían quedado en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y en los tesoros de la casa real, y los entregó en las manos de sus siervos, y los envió el rey Asa a Ben-adad hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, el cual residía en Damasco, diciendo:

19 There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

19 Haya alianza entre tú y yo, y entre mi padre y el tuyo. He aquí yo te envío un presente de plata y de oro; ve y rompe tu alianza con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que se aparte de mí.

20 So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

20 Y Ben-adad escuchó al rey Asa, y envió a los jefes de los ejércitos que tenía contra las ciudades de Israel, y conquistó Ijón, y Dan, y Abel-bet-maaca y toda Cineret, con toda la tierra de Neftalí.

21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

21 Y sucedió que cuando Baasa oyó todo esto, dejó de fortificar Ramá y se quedó en Tirsa.

22 Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

22 Entonces el rey Asa convocó a todo Judá, sin exceptuar a ninguno; y quitaron de Ramá la piedra y la madera con que Baasa edificaba, y el rey Asa edificó con ellas Geba de Benjamín y Mizpa.

23 The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

23 Los demás hechos de Asa, y todo su poderío, y todas las cosas que hizo y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Pero en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de los pies.

24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

24 Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David, su padre; y reinó en su lugar Josafat, su hijo.

25 And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

25 Y Nadab hijo de Jeroboam comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa, rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.

26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

26 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, andando en el camino de su padre y en los pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel.

27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

27 Y Baasa hijo de Ahías, que era de la casa de Isacar, conspiró contra él; y lo mató Baasa en Gibetón, que era de los filisteos, porque Nadab y todo Israel tenían sitiado a Gibetón.

28 Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

28 Lo mató, pues, Baasa en el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

29 And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

29 Y aconteció que cuando llegó a ser rey, mató a toda la casa de Jeroboam, sin dejar alma viviente de los de Jeroboam, hasta raerla, conforme a la palabra de Jehová que él habló por su siervo Ahías, el silonita,

30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

30 por los pecados que Jeroboam había cometido, y con los cuales hizo pecar a Israel, y por su provocación con que provocó a enojo a Jehová, Dios de Israel.

31 Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

31 Los demás hechos de Nadab y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

32 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todos sus días.

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

33 En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Baasa hijo de Ahías sobre todo Israel en Tirsa; y reinó veinticuatro años.

34 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

34 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y en el pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.
