1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

1 Y cuando la reina de Sabá oyó de la fama de Salomón en relación al nombre de Jehová, vino a probarle con preguntas difíciles.

2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

2 Y vino a Jerusalén con una gran comitiva, con camellos cargados de especias, y oro en gran abundancia y piedras preciosas. Y cuando se presentó ante Salomón, le expuso todo lo que en su corazón tenía.

3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.

3 Y Salomón le contestó todas sus preguntas; no hubo ninguna cosa escondida que el rey no le declarase.

4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

4 Y cuando la reina de Sabá vio toda la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,

5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

5 así como la comida de su mesa, y los asientos que ocupaban sus siervos, y la apariencia y los vestidos de los que le servían, y sus maestresalas y los holocaustos que ofrecía en la casa de Jehová, se quedó sin aliento.

6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.

6 Y dijo al rey: Es verdad lo que oí en mi tierra de tus cosas y de tu sabiduría;

7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.

7 pero yo no creía las palabras hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto que ni aun se me dijo la mitad. Tu sabiduría y tus bienes son mayores que la fama que yo había oído.

8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.

8 ¡Dichosos tus hombres, dichosos estos tus siervos, que están continuamente delante de ti y oyen tu sabiduría!

9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

9 ¡Bendito sea Jehová tu Dios que se agradó de ti para ponerte en el trono de Israel! Porque Jehová ha amado siempre a Israel, y te ha puesto como rey para que gobiernes con derecho y justicia.

10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

10 Y dio ella al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, y mucha especiería y piedras preciosas. Nunca vino tan gran cantidad de especias, como la que la reina de Sabá dio al rey Salomón.

11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.

11 La flota de Hiram, que había traído el oro de Ofir, traía también de Ofir gran cantidad de madera de sándalo y piedras preciosas.

12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.

12 Y de la madera de sándalo hizo el rey balaustres para la casa de Jehová y para la casa del rey, arpas también y salterios para los cantores. Nunca vino tanta madera de sándalo, ni se ha visto hasta hoy.

13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.

13 Y el rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo lo que ella quiso y todo lo que pidió, además de lo que el rey Salomón le dio conforme a su real generosidad. Y ella se volvió y se fue a su tierra con sus criados.

14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

14 El peso del oro que Salomón recibía cada año era de seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,

15 Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.

15 sin contar lo de los mercaderes, y el comercio, y lo de todos los reyes de Arabia y de los gobernantes de la tierra.

16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.

16 Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos escudos grandes de oro batido; seiscientos siclos de oro empleó en cada escudo.

17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

17 Asimismo trescientos escudos de oro batido, en cada uno de los cuales empleó tres libras de oro; y los puso el rey en la Casa del Bosque del Líbano.

18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

18 Hizo también el rey un gran trono de marfil, el cual recubrió de oro purísimo.

19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.

19 Seis gradas tenía el trono, y la parte alta era redonda por el respaldo, con brazos a uno y otro lado del asiento, junto a los cuales estaban colocados dos leones.

20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.

20 Había también doce leones puestos allí sobre las seis gradas, a uno y otro lado; en ningún otro reino se había hecho un trono semejante.

21 And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

21 Y todos los vasos de beber del rey Salomón eran de oro, y asimismo toda la vajilla de la Casa del Bosque del Líbano era de oro fino; no había nada de plata; pues en tiempos de Salomón no era apreciada.

22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

22 Pues el rey tenía en el mar una flota de naves que salía de Tarsis, con la flota de Hiram; una vez cada tres años venía la flota de Tarsis y traía oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.

23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

23 Así excedía el rey Salomón a todos los reyes de la tierra en riquezas y en sabiduría.

24 And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

24 Toda la tierra procuraba ver el rostro de Salomón, para oír la sabiduría que Dios había puesto en su corazón.

25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

25 Y todos le llevaban año tras año sus presentes: artículos de oro y de plata, vestidos, armas, especias aromáticas, caballos y mulos.

26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.

26 Y juntó Salomón carros y gente de a caballo; y tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros y junto al rey en Jerusalén.

27 And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.

27 E hizo el rey que en Jerusalén hubiera tanta plata como piedras, y que abundaran los cedros como los sicómoros que están por los campos.

28 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

28 E importaban caballos de Egipto y de Coa para Salomón, porque los mercaderes del rey los compraban allí.

29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.

29 Y un carro que se traía de Egipto valía seiscientas piezas de plata, y un caballo ciento cincuenta; y asimismo los adquirían, también por medio de ellos, para todos los reyes de los heteos y de Siria.
