1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.

1 Entonces David tomó consejo de los capitanes de millares y de centenas, y de todos los jefes.

2 And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:

2 Y dijo David a toda la congregación de Israel: Si os parece bien y si es la voluntad de Jehová nuestro Dios, enviaremos a todas partes por nuestros hermanos que han quedado en todas las tierras de Israel, y por los sacerdotes y levitas que están con ellos en sus ciudades y campos, para que se reúnan con nosotros;

3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.

3 y traigamos el arca de nuestro Dios a nosotros, porque desde el tiempo de Saúl no la hemos consultado.

4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

4 Y dijo toda la congregación que se hiciese así, porque esto parecía bien a todo el pueblo.

5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.

5 Entonces reunió David a todo Israel, desde Sihor de Egipto hasta la entrada de Hamat, para que trajesen el arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim.

6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.

6 Y subió David con todo Israel a Baala, es decir, Quiriat-jearim, que es de Judá, para subir de allí el arca de Dios, Jehová, que habita entre los querubines, sobre la cual su nombre es invocado.

7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.

7 Y llevaron el arca de Dios de la casa de Abinadab en un carro nuevo; y Uza y Ahío guiaban el carro.

8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

8 Y David y todo Israel se regocijaban delante de Dios con todas sus fuerzas, con cánticos, y con arpas, y con salterios, y con tamboriles, y con címbalos y con trompetas.

9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.

9 Y cuando llegaron a la era de Quidón, Uza extendió su mano al arca para sostenerla, porque los bueyes tropezaban.

10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

10 Y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Uza, y lo hirió, porque había extendido su mano al arca; y murió allí delante de Dios.

11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.

11 Y David se disgustó, porque Jehová había quebrantado a Uza; por lo que llamó aquel lugar Pérez-uza, hasta hoy.

12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

12 Y David temió a Dios aquel día y dijo: ¿Cómo he de traer a mí el arca de Dios?

13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

13 Y no llevó David el arca consigo a la ciudad de David, sino que la llevó a casa de Obed-edom, el geteo.

14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.

14 Y el arca de Dios estuvo con la familia de Obed-edom, en su casa, tres meses; y bendijo Jehová la casa de Obed-edom y todo lo que tenía.
