1 Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.

1 Y estos son los que fueron adonde estaba David en Siclag, mientras él aún se mantenía oculto de la presencia de Saúl hijo de Cis; y eran de los valientes que le ayudaron en la guerra.

2 They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.

2 Estaban armados de arcos y usaban ambas manos para lanzar piedras con la honda y saetas con el arco. De los hermanos de Saúl, de Benjamín:

3 The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,

3 El jefe Ahiezer, después Joás, hijos de Semaa, el gabaatita; y Jeziel y Pelet, hijos de Azmavet; y Beraca y Jehú, el anatotita,

4 And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,

8 And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;

8 También de los de Gad se pasaron a David a la fortaleza en el desierto, guerreros valientes, hombres de guerra aptos para pelear, diestros con el escudo y la lanza, sus rostros eran como rostros de leones y eran ligeros como las gacelas sobre los montes.

9 Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

9 Ezer el primero, Obadías el segundo, Eliab el tercero,

10 Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

10 Mismana el cuarto, Jeremías el quinto,

11 Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

11 Atai el sexto, Eliel el séptimo,

12 Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

12 Johanán el octavo, Elzabad el noveno,

13 Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.

13 Jeremías el décimo, Macbanai el undécimo.

14 These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.

14 Estos fueron capitanes del ejército de los hijos de Gad. El menor estaba sobre cien, y el mayor, sobre mil.

15 These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

15 Estos pasaron el Jordán en el mes primero, cuando se había desbordado por todas sus riberas; e hicieron huir a todos los de los valles al oriente y al occidente.

16 And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.

16 Asimismo algunos de los hijos de Benjamín y de Judá vinieron a la fortaleza, ante David.

17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

17 Y David salió a su encuentro y les respondió, diciendo: Si habéis venido a mí en son de paz y para ayudarme, mi corazón se unirá al vuestro; pero si es para entregarme a mis enemigos, sin haber violencia en mis manos, véalo el Dios de nuestros padres y que él decida.

18 Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

18 Entonces el Espíritu vino sobre Amasai, jefe de los oficiales, y dijo: Por ti, oh David, y contigo, oh hijo de Isaí. Paz, paz a ti, y paz a tus ayudantes, porque tu Dios te ayuda. Y David los recibió y los hizo capitanes de la tropa.

19 And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

19 También se pasaron a David algunos de Manasés cuando fue con los filisteos a la batalla contra Saúl, aunque no les ayudaron, porque los príncipes de los filisteos, tras deliberar, lo despidieron, diciendo: Con peligro de nuestras cabezas se pasará a su señor Saúl.

20 As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh.

20 Y cuando él iba a Siclag, se pasaron a él de los de Manasés: Adnas, y Jozabad, y Jediaiel, y Micael, y Jozabad, y Eliú y Ziletai, capitanes de millares de los de Manasés.

21 And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.

21 Y estos ayudaron a David contra la banda de merodeadores, pues todos ellos eran hombres fuertes y valientes, y fueron capitanes en el ejército.

22 For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

22 Porque en ese tiempo, día tras día llegaba ayuda a David, hasta hacerse un gran ejército, como un ejército de Dios.

23 And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.

23 Y este es el número de los escuadrones que estaban listos para la guerra, y que vinieron a David en Hebrón para traspasarle el reino de Saúl, conforme a la palabra de Jehová:

24 The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.

24 De los hijos de Judá que traían escudo y lanza, seis mil ochocientos, listos para la guerra.

25 Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

25 De los hijos de Simeón, hombres fuertes y valientes para la guerra, siete mil cien.

26 Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.

26 De los hijos de Leví, cuatro mil seiscientos;

27 And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;

27 asimismo Joiada, príncipe de la casa de Aarón, y con él tres mil setecientos;

28 And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.

28 y Sadoc, joven fuerte y valiente, con veintidós de los capitanes de la casa de su padre.

29 And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.

29 De los hijos de Benjamín, hermanos de Saúl, tres mil, pues hasta entonces la mayor parte de ellos se mantenían fieles a la casa de Saúl.

30 And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.

30 Y de los hijos de Efraín, veinte mil ochocientos, hombres fuertes y valientes, varones de renombre en la casa de sus padres.

31 And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.

31 Y de la media tribu de Manasés, dieciocho mil, los cuales fueron designados por nombre para ir a proclamar rey a David.

32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

32 Y de los hijos de Isacar, doscientos jefes, entendidos en los tiempos, y que sabían lo que Israel debía hacer, y cuyas órdenes seguían todos sus hermanos.

33 Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.

33 Y de Zabulón, cincuenta mil, que salían a campaña listos para la guerra, con toda clase de armas de guerra, dispuestos a pelear sin doblez de corazón.

34 And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.

34 Y de Neftalí, mil capitanes, y con ellos treinta y siete mil con escudo y lanza.

35 And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.

35 Y de los de Dan, dispuestos a pelear, veintiocho mil seiscientos.

36 And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.

36 Y de Aser, que salían a campaña listos para la guerra, cuarenta mil.

37 And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.

37 Y del otro lado del Jordán, de los rubenitas y de los gaditas y de la media tribu de Manasés, ciento veinte mil con toda clase de armas de guerra.

38 All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

38 Todos estos hombres de guerra, dispuestos a pelear, vinieron con corazón perfecto a Hebrón, para proclamar a David rey sobre todo Israel; asimismo, todos los demás de Israel eran de un mismo parecer para poner a David como rey.

39 And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.

39 Y estuvieron allí con David tres días comiendo y bebiendo, porque sus hermanos habían provisto para ellos.

40 Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.

40 Y también los que les eran vecinos, hasta Isacar, y Zabulón y Neftalí, trajeron alimentos en asnos, y en camellos, y en mulos y en bueyes, y comida, harina, tortas de higos, y racimos de uvas pasas, y vino y aceite, y vacas y ovejas en abundancia, porque en Israel había alegría.
