1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

1 Mirad que no deis vuestra limosna delante de los hombres para ser vistos por ellos; de otra manera, no tendréis recompensa de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.

2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

2 Cuando, pues, des limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las calles, para ser alabados por los hombres; de cierto os digo que ya tienen su recompensa.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

3 Mas cuando tú des limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha,

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

4 para que sea tu limosna en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará en público.

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

5 Y cuando ores, no seas como los hipócritas, porque a ellos les gusta el orar de pie en las sinagogas y en las esquinas de las calles para ser vistos por los hombres; de cierto os digo que ya tienen su recompensa.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

6 Mas tú, cuando ores, entra en tu aposento, y cerrada tu puerta, ora a tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará en público.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

7 Y al orar, no uséis vanas repeticiones, como los gentiles, que piensan que por su palabrería serán oídos.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

8 No os hagáis, pues, semejantes a ellos, porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad antes que vosotros le pidáis.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

9 Vosotros, pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

10 Venga tu reino. Hágase tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

11 Danos hoy el pan nuestro de cada día.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

12 Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos a nuestros deudores.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

13 Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal; porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

14 Porque si perdonáis a los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también a vosotros vuestro Padre Celestial.

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

15 Pero si no perdonáis a los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.

16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

16 Y cuando ayunéis, no pongáis un semblante como los hipócritas, porque ellos demudan sus rostros para mostrar a los hombres que ayunan; de cierto os digo que ya tienen su recompensa.

17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

17 Mas tú, cuando ayunes, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro,

18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

18 para no mostrar a los hombres que ayunas, sino a tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará en público.

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

19 No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

20 sino haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan.

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

21 Porque donde esté vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro corazón.

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

22 La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo; así que, si tu ojo es sincero, todo tu cuerpo estará lleno de luz;

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

23 mas si tu ojo es malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la luz que hay en ti es tinieblas, ¿cuán grandes no serán esas tinieblas?

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

24 Ninguno puede servir a dos señores, porque o aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, o se apegará al uno y menospreciará al otro; no podéis servir a Dios y a las riquezas.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

25 Por tanto os digo: No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir. ¿No es la vida más que el alimento y el cuerpo más que el vestido?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

26 Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan ni juntan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre Celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

27 Mas, ¿quién de vosotros podrá, afanándose, añadir a su estatura un codo?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

28 Y por el vestido, ¿por qué os afanáis? Considerad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

29 mas os digo que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

30 Y si la hierba del campo, que hoy es y mañana es echada al horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más a vosotros, hombres de poca fe?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

31 No os afanéis, pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, o qué beberemos o con qué nos cubriremos?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

32 Porque los gentiles buscan todas estas cosas, pero vuestro Padre Celestial sabe que tenéis necesidad de todas estas cosas.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

33 Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

34 Así que, no os afanéis por el día de mañana, porque el día de mañana traerá su propio afán. Basta al día su propio mal.
