1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

1 Y cuando se acercaron a Jerusalén y llegaron a Betfagé, al monte de los Olivos, entonces Jesús envió a dos discípulos,

2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

2 diciéndoles: Id a la aldea que está delante de vosotros, y enseguida hallaréis un asna atada y un pollino con ella; desatad la y traédme los.

3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

3 Y si alguien os dice algo, decid: El Señor los necesita. Y enseguida los enviará.

4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

4 Y todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo que fue dicho por el profeta, cuando dijo:

5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

5 Decid a la hija de Sion: He aquí, tu Rey viene a ti, manso y sentado sobre un asna, y sobre un pollino, hijo de animal de carga.

6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

6 Entonces los discípulos fueron e hicieron como Jesús les mandó;

7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

7 y trajeron el asna y el pollino, y pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos; y él se sentó encima.

8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

8 Y la multitud, que era muy numerosa, tendía sus mantos en el camino; y otros cortaban ramas de los árboles y las tendían en el camino.

9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

9 Y las multitudes que iban delante de él y las que iban detrás aclamaban, diciendo: ¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!

10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

10 Y al entrar él en Jerusalén, toda la ciudad se alborotó, diciendo: ¿Quién es este?

11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

11 Y la gente decía: Este es Jesús, el profeta, de Nazaret de Galilea.

12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

12 Y entró Jesús en el templo de Dios y echó fuera a todos los que vendían y compraban en el templo; y volcó las mesas de los cambistas y las sillas de los que vendían palomas;

13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

13 y les dijo: Escrito está: Mi casa, casa de oración será llamada, pero vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.

14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

14 Entonces en el templo vinieron a él ciegos y cojos, y los sanó.

15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,

15 Pero los principales sacerdotes y los escribas, viendo las maravillas que hacía y a los muchachos que aclamaban en el templo y decían: ¡Hosanna al Hijo de David!, se indignaron

16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

16 y le dijeron: ¿Oyes lo que estos dicen? Y Jesús les dijo: Sí; ¿nunca leísteis: De la boca de los pequeños y de los niños de pecho perfeccionaste la alabanza?

17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

17 Y dejándolos, salió fuera de la ciudad, a Betania; y se hospedó allí.

18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

18 Y por la mañana, volviendo a la ciudad, tuvo hambre.

19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

19 Y viendo una higuera cerca del camino, fue a ella, pero no halló nada en ella, sino hojas solamente, y le dijo: ¡Nunca jamás nazca de ti fruto! Y de inmediato se secó la higuera.

20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

20 Y al ver esto los discípulos, maravillados decían: ¿Cómo se secó al instante la higuera?

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

21 Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: De cierto os digo que si tenéis fe y no dudáis, no solo haréis esto de la higuera, sino que si a este monte decís: ¡Quítate y échate al mar!, será hecho.

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

22 Y todo lo que pidáis en oración, creyendo, lo recibiréis.

23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

23 Y cuando llegó al templo, los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo se acercaron a él mientras enseñaba, y le preguntaron: ¿Con qué autoridad haces esto? ¿Y quién te dio esta autoridad?

24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

24 Y, respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Yo también os haré una pregunta, y si me la contestáis, también yo os diré con qué autoridad hago esto.

25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

25 El bautismo de Juan, ¿de dónde era? ¿Del cielo o de los hombres? Ellos entonces discutieron entre sí, diciendo: Si decimos del cielo, nos dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?

26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

26 Y si decimos de los hombres, tememos al pueblo, porque todos tienen a Juan por profeta.

27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

27 Y respondiendo a Jesús, dijeron: No lo sabemos. Y él también les dijo: Tampoco yo os digo con qué autoridad hago esto.

28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

28 Mas, ¿qué os parece? Un hombre tenía dos hijos, y acercándose al primero, le dijo: Hijo, ve hoy a trabajar en mi viña.

29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

29 Y respondiendo él, dijo: No quiero; pero después, arrepentido, fue.

30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

30 Y acercándose al otro, le dijo de la misma manera; y respondiendo él, dijo: Sí, señor, voy. Pero no fue.

31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

31 ¿Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad de su padre? Dijeron ellos: El primero. Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo que los publicanos y las rameras van delante de vosotros al reino de Dios.

32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

32 Porque Juan vino a vosotros en camino de justicia, y no le creísteis; pero los publicanos y las rameras le creyeron; pero vosotros, aunque visteis esto, no os arrepentisteis después para creerle.

33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

33 Oíd otra parábola: Había un hombre, padre de familia, el cual plantó una viña; y la cercó de vallado, y cavó en ella un lagar, y edificó una torre, y la arrendó a unos labradores y partió lejos.

34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

34 Y cuando se acercó el tiempo de los frutos, envió sus siervos a los labradores para que recibiesen sus frutos.

35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

35 Pero los labradores, tomando a los siervos, a uno golpearon, y a otro mataron y a otro apedrearon.

36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

36 Envió de nuevo otros siervos, más que los primeros, e hicieron con ellos de la misma manera.

37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

37 Finalmente les envió a su hijo, diciendo: Tendrán respeto a mi hijo.

38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

38 Pero los labradores, cuando vieron al hijo, dijeron entre sí: Este es el heredero; venid, matémosle y tomemos su heredad.

39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

39 Y tomándole, le echaron fuera de la viña y le mataron.

40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

40 Cuando venga, pues, el señor de la viña, ¿qué hará a aquellos labradores?

41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

41 Le dijeron: A los malos destruirá sin misericordia, y arrendará su viña a otros labradores que le paguen el fruto a su tiempo.

42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

42 Jesús les dijo: ¿Nunca leísteis en las Escrituras: La piedra que desecharon los edificadores ha llegado a ser cabeza del ángulo. El Señor ha hecho esto, y es cosa maravillosa a nuestros ojos?

43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

43 Por tanto, os digo que el reino de Dios será quitado de vosotros y será dado a gente que produzca los frutos de él.

44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

44 Y el que caiga sobre esta piedra será quebrantado; y sobre quien ella caiga, lo desmenuzará.

45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

45 Y al oír sus parábolas, los principales sacerdotes y los fariseos entendieron que hablaba de ellos.

46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

46 Y buscando cómo echarle mano, temieron al pueblo, porque le tenían por profeta.
