1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judæa beyond Jordan;

1 Y aconteció que cuando acabó Jesús estas palabras, salió de Galilea y fue a la región de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán.

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

2 Y le siguió mucha gente, y los sanó allí.

3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

3 Entonces se acercaron a él los fariseos, tentándole y diciéndole: ¿Es lícito al hombre repudiar a su esposa por cualquier causa?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

4 Y él, respondiendo, les dijo: ¿No habéis leído que el que los hizo al principio, hombre y mujer los hizo,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

5 y dijo: Por tanto, el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su esposa, y los dos serán una sola carne?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

6 Así que, no son ya más dos, sino una sola carne; por tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, no lo separe el hombre.

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

7 Le dijeron: ¿Por qué, pues, mandó Moisés darle carta de divorcio y repudiarla?

8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

8 Les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón Moisés os permitió repudiar a vuestras esposas; mas al principio no fue así.

9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

9 Y yo os digo que cualquiera que repudia a su esposa, a no ser por causa de adulterio, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio; y el que se casa con la repudiada comete adulterio.

10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

10 Le dijeron sus discípulos: Si así es la condición del hombre con su esposa, no conviene casarse.

11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

11 Entonces él les dijo: No todos pueden recibir esta palabra, sino solo aquellos a quienes es dado.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

12 Porque hay eunucos que nacieron así del vientre de su madre, y hay eunucos que son hechos eunucos por los hombres, y hay eunucos que se hicieron a sí mismos eunucos por causa del reino de los cielos; el que sea capaz de aceptar esto, que lo acepte.

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

13 Entonces le fueron presentados unos niños, para que pusiese las manos sobre ellos y orase; pero los discípulos los reprendieron.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

14 Y Jesús dijo: Dejad a los niños venir a mí y no les impidáis hacerlo, porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

15 Y habiendo puesto las manos sobre ellos, partió de allí.

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

16 Y he aquí uno, acercándose, le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué bien haré para tener la vida eterna?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

17 Y él le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Ninguno es bueno sino uno, a saber, Dios; y si quieres entrar en la vida, guarda los mandamientos.

18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

18 Le dijo: ¿Cuáles? Y Jesús dijo: No matarás; no cometerás adulterio; no hurtarás; no dirás falso testimonio;

19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

19 honra a tu padre y a tu madre; y, amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

20 El joven le dijo: Todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud. ¿Qué más me falta?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

21 Le dijo Jesús: Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende lo que tienes y da a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

22 Y al oír el joven esta palabra, se fue triste, porque tenía muchas posesiones.

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

23 Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: De cierto os digo que difícilmente entrará un rico en el reino de los cielos.

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

24 Mas os digo que es más fácil a un camello pasar por el ojo de una aguja que a un rico entrar en el reino de Dios.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

25 Mas sus discípulos, oyendo estas cosas, se asombraron en gran manera, diciendo: ¿Quién, pues, podrá ser salvo?

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

26 Y mirándo los Jesús, les dijo: Para los hombres esto es imposible, mas para Dios todo es posible.

27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

27 Entonces, respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: He aquí, nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido. ¿Qué, pues, tendremos?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

28 Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo que, en la regeneración, cuando el Hijo del Hombre se siente en el trono de su gloria, vosotros que me habéis seguido os sentaréis también sobre doce tronos, para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

29 Y todo el que haya dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o esposa, o hijos o tierras, por mi nombre recibirá cien veces más y heredará la vida eterna.

30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

30 Pero muchos primeros serán postreros, y los postreros, primeros.
