1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

1 En aquel tiempo iba Jesús por los sembrados en el día de reposo; y sus discípulos tuvieron hambre y comenzaron a arrancar espigas y a comer.

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

2 Y al verlo los fariseos, le dijeron: He aquí tus discípulos hacen lo que no es lícito hacer en el día de reposo.

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

3 Pero él les dijo: ¿No habéis leído lo que hizo David cuando él y los que con él estaban tuvieron hambre;

4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

4 cómo entró en la casa de Dios y comió los panes de la proposición, que no les era lícito comer, ni a él ni a los que estaban con él, sino solamente a los sacerdotes?

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

5 O, ¿no habéis leído en la ley que en los días de reposo los sacerdotes en el templo profanan el día de reposo y son sin culpa?

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

6 Pues os digo que uno mayor que el templo está aquí.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

7 Mas si supieseis lo que significa: Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio, no condenaríais a los inocentes;

8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

8 porque el Hijo del Hombre es Señor del día de reposo.

9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

9 Y partiendo de allí, vino a la sinagoga de ellos.

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

10 Y he aquí, había allí uno que tenía seca una mano; y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Es lícito curar en el día de reposo?, para acusarle.

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

11 Y él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros que tenga una oveja, y si esta cae en un foso en el día de reposo, no le echa mano y la levanta?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

12 Pues, ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Así que, es lícito en los días de reposo hacer el bien.

13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

13 Entonces dijo a aquel hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y le fue restituida como la otra.

14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

14 Y cuando salieron los fariseos, consultaron entre sí contra Jesús para destruirle.

15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

15 Mas sabiéndo lo Jesús, se apartó de allí; y le siguió mucha gente, y sanaba a todos.

16 And charged them that they should not make him known:

16 Y él les encargaba rigurosamente que no le descubriesen,

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

17 para que se cumpliese lo dicho por medio del profeta Isaías, cuando dijo:

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

18 He aquí mi siervo, a quien he escogido; mi Amado, en quien se agrada mi alma. Pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, y a los gentiles anunciará juicio.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

19 No contenderá, ni voceará, ni nadie oirá en las calles su voz.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

20 La caña cascada no quebrará, y el pabilo que humea no apagará, hasta que saque a victoria el juicio.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

21 Y en su nombre esperarán los gentiles.

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

22 Entonces fue traído a él un endemoniado, ciego y mudo; y le sanó, de tal manera que el que había sido ciego y mudo hablaba y veía.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

23 Y toda la gente estaba atónita y decía: ¿No será este el Hijo de David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

24 Mas los fariseos, al oírle, decían: Este no echa fuera los demonios sino por Beelzebú, príncipe de los demonios.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

25 Y Jesús, sabiendo los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo es asolado; y toda ciudad o casa dividida contra sí misma no permanecerá.

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

26 Y si Satanás echa fuera a Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido; ¿cómo, pues, permanecerá su reino?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

27 Y si yo echo fuera los demonios por Beelzebú, ¿por quién los echan vuestros hijos? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

28 Pero si yo por el espíritu de Dios echo fuera los demonios, ciertamente ha llegado a vosotros el reino de Dios.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

29 Porque, ¿cómo puede alguno entrar en la casa del hombre fuerte y saquear sus bienes, si primero no lo ata? Y entonces saqueará su casa.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

30 El que no está conmigo, contra mí está; y el que conmigo no recoge, desparrama.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

31 Por tanto os digo: Todo pecado y blasfemia será perdonado a los hombres; pero la blasfemia contra el Espíritu no les será perdonada.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

32 Y a cualquiera que hable contra el Hijo del Hombre le será perdonado; pero a cualquiera que hable contra el Espíritu Santo no le será perdonado, ni en este siglo ni en el venidero.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

33 O haced el árbol bueno y su fruto bueno o haced el árbol malo y su fruto malo; porque por el fruto se conoce el árbol.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

34 ¡Generación de víboras! ¿Cómo podéis hablar lo bueno, siendo malos? Porque de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

35 El hombre bueno del buen tesoro del corazón saca buenas cosas, y el hombre malo del mal tesoro saca malas cosas.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

36 Mas yo os digo que de toda palabra ociosa que hablen los hombres, de ella darán cuenta en el día del juicio.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

37 Porque por tus palabras serás justificado, y por tus palabras serás condenado.

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

38 Entonces respondieron algunos de los escribas y de los fariseos, diciendo: Maestro, deseamos ver de ti señal.

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

39 Y él respondió y les dijo: La generación mala y adúltera demanda señal, pero señal no le será dada, sino la señal del profeta Jonás.

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

40 Porque como estuvo Jonás en el vientre del gran pez tres días y tres noches, así estará el Hijo del Hombre en el corazón de la tierra tres días y tres noches.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

41 Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en el juicio con esta generación y la condenarán, porque ellos se arrepintieron por la predicación de Jonás; y he aquí hay uno mayor que Jonás en este lugar.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

42 La reina del sur se levantará en el juicio con esta generación y la condenará, porque ella vino de los confines de la tierra para oír la sabiduría de Salomón; y he aquí hay uno mayor que Salomón en este lugar.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

43 Cuando el espíritu inmundo ha salido del hombre, anda por lugares secos buscando reposo, pero no lo halla.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

44 Entonces dice: Volveré a mi casa de donde salí; y cuando llega, la halla desocupada, barrida y adornada.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

45 Entonces va y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entran y moran allí; y son peores las cosas últimas de aquel hombre que las primeras. Así también acontecerá a esta generación mala.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

46 Y mientras él aún hablaba a la gente, he aquí su madre y sus hermanos estaban fuera y le querían hablar.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

47 Y le dijo uno: He aquí, tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, y te quieren hablar.

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

48 Y respondiendo él al que le decía esto, dijo: ¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?

49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

49 Y extendiendo su mano hacia sus discípulos, dijo: He aquí mi madre y mis hermanos.

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

50 Porque todo aquel que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos, ese es mi hermano, y hermana y madre.
