1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

1 Entonces, llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos, para que los echasen fuera y sanasen toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

2 Y los nombres de los doce apóstoles son estos: el primero, Simón, que es llamado Pedro, y su hermano Andrés; Jacobo hijo de Zebedeo y su hermano Juan;

3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphæus, and Lebbæus, whose surname was Thaddæus;

3 Felipe y Bartolomé; Tomás y Mateo, el publicano; Jacobo hijo de Alfeo, y Lebeo, por sobrenombre Tadeo;

4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

4 Simón el Cananita, y Judas Iscariote, el que además le entregó.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

5 A estos doce envió Jesús, a los cuales dio mandamiento, diciendo: Por camino de gentiles no vayáis, y en ciudad de samaritanos no entréis;

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

6 sino id antes a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

7 Y yendo, predicad, diciendo: El reino de los cielos se ha acercado.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

8 Sanad enfermos, limpiad leprosos, resucitad muertos, echad fuera demonios; de gracia recibisteis, dad de gracia.

9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

9 No llevéis oro, ni plata, ni cobre en vuestras bolsas;

10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

10 ni alforja para el camino, ni dos ropas de vestir, ni calzado ni bordón, porque el obrero es digno de su alimento.

11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

11 Mas en cualquier ciudad o aldea donde entréis, averiguad quién es digno en ella y reposad allí hasta que salgáis.

12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.

12 Y al entrar en la casa, saludad.

13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

13 Y si la casa fuere digna, vuestra paz vendrá sobre ella; mas si no fuere digna, vuestra paz se volverá a vosotros.

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

14 Y si alguno no os recibiere ni oyere vuestras palabras, salid de aquella casa o ciudad y sacudid el polvo de vuestros pies.

15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

15 De cierto os digo que en el día del juicio el castigo será más tolerable para la tierra de Sodoma y de Gomorra que para aquella ciudad.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

16 He aquí, yo os envío como a ovejas en medio de lobos; sed, pues, prudentes como serpientes y sencillos como palomas.

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

17 Y guardaos de los hombres, porque os entregarán a los concilios y os azotarán en sus sinagogas;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

18 y aun ante gobernantes y ante reyes seréis llevados por causa de mí, para testimonio a ellos y a los gentiles.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

19 Pero cuando os entreguen, no os preocupéis de cómo o de qué hablaréis, porque en aquella hora os será dado lo que habéis de hablar.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

20 Pues no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu de vuestro Padre que habla en vosotros.

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

21 Y el hermano entregará a la muerte al hermano, y el padre al hijo; y los hijos se levantarán contra los padres y los harán morir.

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

22 Y seréis aborrecidos por todos por causa de mi nombre; pero el que persevere hasta el fin, este será salvo.

23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

23 Mas cuando os persigan en esta ciudad, huid a la otra; porque de cierto os digo que no acabaréis de recorrer todas las ciudades de Israel antes que venga el Hijo del Hombre.

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

24 El discípulo no es más que su maestro, ni el siervo más que su señor.

25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

25 Bástale al discípulo ser como su maestro y al siervo como su señor. Si al padre de familia llamaron Beelzebú, ¿cuánto más a los de su casa?

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

26 Así que, no los temáis, porque nada hay encubierto que no haya de ser manifestado, ni oculto que no haya de saberse.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

27 Lo que os digo en la oscuridad, decidlo a plena luz; y lo que oís al oído, proclamadlo desde las azoteas.

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

28 Y no temáis a los que matan el cuerpo pero no pueden matar al alma; más bien temed a aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

29 ¿No se venden dos pajarillos por un cuarto? Con todo, ni uno de ellos cae a tierra sin saberlo vuestro Padre.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

30 Pues aun vuestros cabellos están todos contados.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

31 Así que no temáis; más valéis vosotros que muchos pajarillos.

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

32 A cualquiera, pues, que me confiese delante de los hombres, yo también le confesaré delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

33 Y a cualquiera que me niegue delante de los hombres, yo también le negaré delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

34 No penséis que he venido para traer paz a la tierra; no he venido para traer paz, sino espada.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

35 Porque he venido para poner en disensión al hombre contra su padre, y a la hija contra su madre y a la nuera contra su suegra.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

36 Y los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

37 El que ama al padre o a la madre más que a mí, no es digno de mí; y el que ama al hijo o a la hija más que a mí, no es digno de mí.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

38 Y el que no toma su cruz y sigue en pos de mí no es digno de mí.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

39 El que halla su vida, la perderá; y el que pierde su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

40 El que os recibe a vosotros, a mí me recibe; y el que a mí me recibe, recibe al que me envió.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

41 El que recibe a un profeta porque es profeta, recompensa de profeta recibirá; y el que recibe a un justo porque es justo, recompensa de justo recibirá.

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

42 Y cualquiera que dé a uno de estos pequeñitos un vaso de agua fría solamente, porque es discípulo, de cierto os digo que no perderá su recompensa.
