1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

1 También les dijo: De cierto os digo que hay algunos de los que están aquí que no probarán la muerte hasta que hayan visto el reino de Dios que viene con poder.

2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

2 Y seis días después, tomó Jesús a Pedro, y a Jacobo y a Juan, y los llevó aparte, solos, a un monte alto; y fue transfigurado delante de ellos.

3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

3 Y sus vestidos se volvieron resplandecientes, muy blancos, como la nieve, tanto que ningún lavador en la tierra los puede dejar tan blancos.

4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

4 Y se les apareció Elías, junto con Moisés, y hablaban con Jesús.

5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

5 Entonces respondiendo Pedro, dijo a Jesús: Maestro, bueno es que estemos aquí; hagamos tres enramadas: una para ti, y otra para Moisés y otra para Elías;

6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

6 porque no sabía lo que hablaba, pues estaban aterrados.

7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

7 Entonces vino una nube que les hizo sombra, y desde la nube una voz que decía: Este es mi Hijo Amado; a él oíd.

8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.

8 Y de repente, cuando miraron, no vieron más a nadie con ellos, sino a Jesús solo.

9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

9 Y descendiendo ellos del monte, les mandó que a nadie dijesen lo que habían visto, sino hasta que el Hijo del Hombre hubiese resucitado de entre los muertos.

10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.

10 Y retuvieron la palabra para sí, discutiendo qué sería aquello de resucitar de entre los muertos.

11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?

11 Y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué dicen los escribas que es necesario que Elías venga primero?

12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

12 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Elías a la verdad viene primero y restaurará todas las cosas. Y, ¿no está escrito que el Hijo del Hombre padezca mucho y sea tenido en nada?

13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

13 Pero os digo que Elías ya vino, y le hicieron todo lo que quisieron, como está escrito de él.

14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.

14 Y cuando vino a los discípulos, vio una gran multitud alrededor de ellos, y a escribas que discutían con ellos.

15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.

15 Y de inmediato toda la gente, viéndole, se asombró, y corriendo a él, le saludaron.

16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?

16 Y les preguntó: ¿Qué discutís con ellos?

17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;

17 Entonces, y respondiendo uno de la multitud, dijo: Maestro, traje a ti mi hijo, que tiene un espíritu mudo,

18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

18 el cual, dondequiera que le toma, le derriba; y echa espumarajos, y cruje los dientes y se va secando; y dije a tus discípulos que lo echasen fuera, pero no pudieron.

19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

19 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: ¡Oh generación incrédula! ¿Hasta cuándo he de estar con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os he de soportar? Traédmelo.

20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

20 Y se lo trajeron. Y cuando el espíritu vio a Jesús, de inmediato sacudió al muchacho que, cayendo en tierra, se revolcaba, echando espumarajos.

21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

21 Y Jesús preguntó al padre: ¿Cuánto tiempo hace que le sucede esto? Y él dijo: Desde niño.

22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

22 Y muchas veces le echa al fuego y al agua para matarle; pero si tú puedes hacer algo, ¡ten misericordia de nosotros y ayúdanos!

23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

23 Y Jesús le dijo: Si puedes creer, al que cree todo le es posible.

24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

24 Y de inmediato el padre del muchacho clamó, diciendo: Creo; ayuda mi incredulidad.

25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

25 Y cuando Jesús vio que la multitud se agolpaba, reprendió al espíritu inmundo, diciéndole: Espíritu mudo y sordo, yo te mando, ¡sal de él y no entres más en él!

26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

26 Entonces el espíritu, clamando y sacudiéndole mucho, salió; y el muchacho quedó como muerto, de modo que muchos decían: Está muerto.

27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

27 Pero Jesús, tomándole de la mano, le enderezó; y se levantó.

28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

28 Y cuando él entró en casa, sus discípulos le preguntaron aparte: ¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos echarlo fuera?

29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

29 Y les dijo: Este género con nada puede salir, sino con oración y ayuno.

30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.

30 Y habiendo salido de allí, caminaron por Galilea; y no quería que nadie lo supiese,

31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

31 porque enseñaba a sus discípulos y les decía: El Hijo del Hombre será entregado en manos de hombres, y le matarán; y después de haber muerto, resucitará al tercer día.

32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

32 Pero ellos no entendían esta palabra y tenían miedo de preguntarle.

33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?

33 Y llegó a Capernaúm; y estando en casa, les preguntó: ¿Qué discutíais entre vosotros por el camino?

34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

34 Pero ellos callaron, porque los unos con los otros habían discutido por el camino quién había de ser el mayor.

35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

35 Entonces sentándose, llamó a los doce y les dijo: Si alguno quiere ser el primero será el postrero de todos y el servidor de todos.

36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,

36 Y tomó a un niño y lo puso en medio de ellos; y tomándole en sus brazos, les dijo:

37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

37 El que reciba en mi nombre a uno de estos niños, a mí me recibe; y el que a mí me recibe, no me recibe a mí, sino al que me envió.

38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

38 Y le respondió Juan, diciendo: Maestro, hemos visto a uno que en tu nombre echaba fuera demonios, pero él no nos sigue, y se lo prohibimos, porque no nos sigue.

39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

39 Pero Jesús dijo: No se lo prohibáis, porque ninguno hay que haga milagro en mi nombre que luego pueda decir mal de mí.

40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

40 Porque el que no está contra nosotros, por nosotros está.

41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

41 Y cualquiera que os diere un vaso de agua en mi nombre, porque sois de Cristo, de cierto os digo que no perderá su recompensa.

42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

42 Y a cualquiera que haga tropezar a uno de estos pequeñitos que creen en mí, mejor le fuera que se le atase una piedra de molino al cuello y que fuera echado al mar.

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

43 Y si tu mano te hiciere tropezar, córtala; mejor te es entrar manco en la vida, que teniendo dos manos, ir al infierno, al fuego que no puede ser apagado,

44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

44 donde el gusano de ellos no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

45 Y si tu pie te fuere ocasión de caer, córtalo; mejor te es entrar cojo en la vida, que teniendo dos pies, ser echado al infierno, al fuego que no puede ser apagado,

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

46 donde el gusano de ellos no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

47 Y si tu ojo te fuere ocasión de caer, sácalo; mejor te es entrar en el reino de Dios con un ojo, que teniendo dos ojos, ser echado al infierno,

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

48 donde el gusano de ellos no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga.

49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

49 Porque todos serán salados con fuego, y todo sacrificio será salado con sal.

50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

50 Buena es la sal; pero si la sal se vuelve insípida, ¿con qué la sazonaréis? Tened sal en vosotros mismos, y tened paz los unos con los otros.
