1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

1 Y comenzó a hablarles por parábolas: Un hombre plantó una viña, y la cercó con un muro, y cavó un lagar, y edificó una torre, y la arrendó a labradores y partió lejos.

2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

2 Y envió un siervo a los labradores en su debido tiempo, para que recibiese de los labradores del fruto de la viña.

3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

3 Pero ellos, tomándole, le golpearon y le enviaron con las manos vacías.

4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

4 Y volvió a enviarles otro siervo; mas apedreándole, le hirieron en la cabeza y le despidieron afrentado.

5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

5 Y volvió a enviar otro, y a este mataron; y así a otros muchos, a unos golpearon y a otros los mataron.

6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

6 Teniendo, pues, aún un hijo suyo, bien amado, por último lo envió también a ellos, diciendo: Tendrán respeto a mi hijo.

7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

7 Pero aquellos labradores dijeron entre sí: Este es el heredero; venid, matémosle, y la heredad será nuestra.

8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

8 Y apresándole, le mataron y le echaron fuera de la viña.

9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

9 ¿Qué, pues, hará el señor de la viña? Vendrá, y destruirá a esos labradores y dará su viña a otros.

10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

10 ¿Ni aun esta Escritura habéis leído: La piedra que desecharon los edificadores ha llegado a ser cabeza del ángulo;

11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

11 el Señor ha hecho esto, y es cosa maravillosa a nuestros ojos?

12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

12 Y procuraban apresarle, porque entendían que decía contra ellos aquella parábola; pero temían a la multitud, y dejándole, se fueron.

13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

13 Y le enviaron algunos de los fariseos y de los herodianos para que le sorprendiesen en alguna palabra.

14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?

14 Y viniendo ellos, le dijeron: Maestro, sabemos que eres hombre veraz y que no te dejas influir por nadie, porque no miras la apariencia de los hombres, sino que con verdad enseñas el camino de Dios. ¿Es lícito dar tributo a César, o no? ¿Daremos, o no daremos?

15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

15 Entonces él, como entendía la hipocresía de ellos, les dijo: ¿Por qué me tentáis? Traedme la moneda para que la vea.

16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar's.

16 Y ellos se la trajeron y les dijo: ¿De quién es esta imagen y esta inscripción? Y ellos le dijeron: De César.

17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

17 Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Dad a César lo que es de César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios. Y se maravillaron de él.

18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

18 Entonces vinieron a él los saduceos, que dicen que no hay resurrección, y le preguntaron, diciendo:

19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

19 Maestro, Moisés nos escribió que si el hermano de alguno muere y deja esposa, y no deja hijos, que su hermano se case con ella y levante descendencia a su hermano.

20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.

20 Hubo siete hermanos; y el primero tomó esposa, y murió, sin dejar descendencia;

21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.

21 entonces la tomó el segundo, y murió, y este tampoco dejó descendencia; y el tercero, de la misma manera.

22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

22 Y la tomaron los siete, y tampoco dejaron descendencia; a la postre, murió también la mujer.

23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

23 En la resurrección, pues, cuando resuciten, ¿de cuál de ellos será ella esposa? Porque los siete la tuvieron por esposa.

24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

24 Entonces, respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿No erráis por eso, porque no conocéis las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios?

25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

25 Porque cuando resuciten de los muertos, ni se casarán ni se darán en casamiento, sino que serán como los ángeles que están en los cielos.

26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

26 Y en cuanto a que los muertos resucitan, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés cómo le habló Dios en la zarza, diciendo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob?

27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

27 Él no es Dios de muertos, sino Dios de vivos. Así que vosotros erráis mucho.

28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

28 Y acercándose uno de los escribas, que los había oído discutir y sabía que les había respondido bien, le preguntó: ¿Cuál es el primer mandamiento de todos?

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

29 Y Jesús le respondió: El primer mandamiento de todos es: Oye, Israel: el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es.

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

30 Amarás, pues, al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas; este es el principal mandamiento.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

31 Y el segundo es semejante a este: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. No hay otro mandamiento mayor que estos.

32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

32 Entonces el escriba le dijo: Bien, Maestro, verdad has dicho, que uno es Dios, y no hay otro fuera de él;

33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

33 y el amarle con todo el corazón, y con todo el entendimiento, y con toda el alma y con todas las fuerzas, y el amar al prójimo como a uno mismo, es más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios.

34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

34 Jesús entonces, viendo que había respondido sabiamente, le dijo: No estás lejos del reino de Dios. Y ya ninguno osaba preguntarle.

35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?

35 Y enseñando Jesús en el templo, decía: ¿Por qué dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David?,

36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

36 pues el mismo David dijo por el Espíritu Santo: Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra, hasta que ponga a tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.

37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

37 Si el mismo David le llama Señor, ¿cómo, pues, es su hijo? Y la gran multitud le oía de buena gana.

38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

38 Y les decía en su doctrina: Guardaos de los escribas, a quienes les gusta andar con ropas largas y también las salutaciones en las plazas,

39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:

39 y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas y los primeros asientos en las cenas;

40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

40 que devoran las casas de las viudas y, por aparentar, hacen largas oraciones. Estos recibirán mayor condenación.

41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

41 Y estando Jesús sentado delante del arca de la ofrenda, miraba cómo el pueblo echaba dinero en el arca; y muchos ricos echaban mucho.

42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

42 Y vino una viuda pobre y echó dos blancas, que son un cuadrante.

43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

43 Entonces, llamando a sus discípulos, les dijo: De cierto os digo que esta viuda pobre echó más que todos los que han echado al arca,

44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

44 porque todos han echado de lo que les sobra; pero esta, de su pobreza echó todo lo que tenía, todo su sustento.
