1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

1 Y aconteció después, que Jesús caminaba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, predicando y anunciando el evangelio del reino de Dios, y los doce con él,

2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

2 y algunas mujeres que habían sido sanadas de espíritus malos y de enfermedades: María, que se llamaba Magdalena, de la que habían salido siete demonios,

3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

3 y Juana, mujer de Chuza, mayordomo de Herodes, y Susana y otras muchas que le ayudaban con sus bienes.

4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

4 Y como se juntó una gran multitud, y los que de cada ciudad venían a él, les dijo por parábola:

5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

5 Un sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla; y mientras sembraba, una parte cayó junto al camino y fue hollada; y las aves del cielo se la comieron.

6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

6 Y otra parte cayó entre las piedras; y una vez que brotó, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

7 Y otra parte cayó entre espinos, y los espinos que brotaron juntamente la ahogaron.

8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

8 Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra y, cuando brotó, dio fruto a ciento por uno. Hablando estas cosas, decía a gran voz: El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga.

9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

9 Y sus discípulos le preguntaron qué significaba esta parábola.

10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

10 Y él dijo: A vosotros os es dado saber los misterios del reino de Dios; pero a los otros, por parábolas, para que viendo no vean y oyendo no entiendan.

11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

11 Esta es, pues, la parábola: La semilla es la palabra de Dios.

12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

12 Y los de junto al camino son los que oyen; pero luego viene el diablo y quita la palabra de su corazón, para que no crean y se salven.

13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

13 Y los de entre las piedras son los que, habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo, pero no tienen raíces; por un tiempo creen, pero en el tiempo de la tentación se apartan.

14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

14 Y la que cayó entre espinos son los que oyeron, pero luego siguen su camino y son ahogados por los afanes, y por las riquezas y por los placeres de esta vida, y no dan fruto.

15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

15 Pero la que cayó en buena tierra son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y dan fruto con paciencia.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

16 Ninguno que enciende una vela la cubre con una vasija ni la pone debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en un candelero, para que los que entren vean la luz.

17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

17 Porque no hay nada oculto que no haya de ser manifestado, ni nada escondido que no haya de ser conocido y de salir a la luz.

18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

18 Mirad, pues, cómo oís; porque a todo el que tiene, le será dado; y a todo el que no tiene, aun lo que cree tener le será quitado.

19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

19 Y vinieron a él su madre y sus hermanos; pero no podían llegar hasta él por causa de la multitud.

20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

20 Y le fue dado aviso, diciendo: Tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera y quieren verte.

21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

21 Él entonces, respondiendo, les dijo: Mi madre y mis hermanos son los que oyen la palabra de Dios y la hacen.

22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

22 Y aconteció un día, que él entró en una barca con sus discípulos y les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado del lago. Y partieron.

23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

23 Pero mientras ellos navegaban, él se durmió. Y se desencadenó una tempestad de viento en el lago, y se anegaban y peligraban.

24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

24 Y acercándose a él, le despertaron, diciendo: ¡Maestro, Maestro, que perecemos! Y despertando él, reprendió al viento y a las olas; y cesaron, y se hizo bonanza.

25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

25 Y les dijo: ¿Dónde está vuestra fe? Y atemorizados, se maravillaban, diciéndose los unos a los otros: ¿Quién es este, que aun manda a los vientos y al agua, y le obedecen?

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

26 Y navegaron a la tierra de los gadarenos, que está en la ribera opuesta a Galilea.

27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

27 Y al llegar él a tierra, le salió al encuentro un hombre de la ciudad que tenía demonios desde hacía mucho tiempo; y no vestía ropa ni vivía en una casa, sino entre los sepulcros.

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

28 El cual, cuando vio a Jesús, exclamó y se postró delante de él, y dijo a gran voz: ¿Qué tienes conmigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te ruego que no me atormentes.

29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

29 (Porque mandaba al espíritu inmundo que saliese del hombre, pues muchas veces se había apoderado de él; y le guardaban preso con cadenas y grilletes; mas rompiendo las cadenas, era impelido por el demonio hacia los desiertos).

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

30 Y le preguntó Jesús, diciendo: ¿Qué nombre tienes? Y él dijo: Legión. Porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él.

31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

31 Y le rogaban que no los mandase ir al abismo.

32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

32 Y había allí un hato de muchos cerdos que pacían en el monte; y le rogaron que los dejase entrar en ellos; y les dio permiso.

33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

33 Entonces salieron los demonios del hombre y entraron en los cerdos; y el hato se arrojó al lago por un despeñadero y se ahogó.

34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

34 Y los que los apacentaban, cuando vieron lo que había acontecido, huyeron, y yendo, dieron aviso en la ciudad y por los campos.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

35 Y salieron a ver lo que había acontecido; y vinieron a Jesús y hallaron al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios sentado a los pies de Jesús, vestido y en su juicio cabal; y tuvieron miedo.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

36 Y los que lo habían visto les contaron cómo había sido sanado aquel endemoniado.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

37 Entonces toda la multitud de la región de alrededor de los gadarenos le rogó que se fuese de ellos, porque tenían gran temor. Y Jesús, subiendo en la barca, regresó.

38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

38 Y aquel hombre, de quien habían salido los demonios, le rogó que le dejase estar con él; pero Jesús le despidió, diciendo:

39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

39 Vuélvete a tu casa y cuenta cuán grandes cosas ha hecho Dios contigo. Y él se fue, publicando por toda la ciudad cuán grandes cosas había hecho Jesús con él.

40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

40 Y aconteció que cuando volvió Jesús, la gente le recibió con gozo, porque todos le esperaban.

41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

41 Y he aquí, llegó un hombre llamado Jairo, que era principal de la sinagoga; y postrándose a los pies de Jesús, le rogaba que entrase en su casa,

42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

42 porque tenía una hija única, como de doce años, que se estaba muriendo. Y mientras Jesús iba, le apretaba la multitud.

43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

43 Y una mujer que padecía de flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años, y que había gastado en médicos todo lo que tenía y que por ninguno había podido ser curada,

44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

44 se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto; y al instante cesó su flujo de sangre.

45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

45 Entonces Jesús dijo: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado? Y negando todos, dijo Pedro y los que estaban con él: Maestro, la multitud te aprieta y oprime, y preguntas: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?

46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

46 Y Jesús dijo: Alguien me ha tocado, porque yo he percibido que ha salido poder de mí.

47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

47 Entonces, cuando la mujer vio que no había pasado inadvertida, vino temblando y, postrándose delante de él, le declaró delante de todo el pueblo por qué causa le había tocado y cómo al instante había sido sanada.

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

48 Y él le dijo: Hija, tu fe te ha sanado; ve en paz.

49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

49 Mientras él aún hablaba, vino uno de la casa del principal de la sinagoga a decirle: Tu hija ha muerto; no importunes más al Maestro.

50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

50 Y oyéndolo Jesús, le respondió: No temas; cree solamente, y ella será sanada.

51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

51 Y entrando en la casa, no dejó entrar a nadie consigo, sino a Pedro, y a Jacobo, y a Juan, y al padre y a la madre de la niña.

52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

52 Y lloraban todos y se lamentaban. Y él dijo: No lloréis; no está muerta, sino que duerme.

53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

53 Y hacían burla de él, sabiendo que estaba muerta.

54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.

54 Pero él, tomándola de la mano, clamó, diciendo: ¡Muchacha, levántate!

55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

55 Entonces su espíritu volvió, y se levantó inmediatamente; y él mandó que le diesen de comer.

56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

56 Y sus padres estaban atónitos; pero Jesús les mandó que a nadie dijesen lo que había sucedido.
