1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.

1 Y estaba cerca el día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, que se llama la Pascua.

2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

2 Y los principales sacerdotes y los escribas buscaban cómo matarle, porque tenían miedo del pueblo.

3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

3 Y entró Satanás en Judas, por sobrenombre Iscariote, el que era uno de los doce;

4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

4 y este fue y habló con los principales sacerdotes y con los oficiales de cómo se lo entregaría.

5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

5 Ellos se alegraron y convinieron en darle dinero.

6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

6 Y prometió y buscaba oportunidad para entregárselo a ellos a escondidas del pueblo.

7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.

7 Y llegó el día de los panes sin levadura, en el cual era necesario sacrificar el cordero de la Pascua.

8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

8 Entonces Jesús envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciendo: Id, preparadnos la Pascua para que la comamos.

9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?

9 Y ellos le dijeron: ¿Dónde quieres que la preparemos?

10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

10 Y él les dijo: He aquí, cuando entréis en la ciudad, os saldrá al encuentro un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle hasta la casa donde entre

11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

11 y decid al padre de familia de esa casa: El Maestro te dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde he de comer la Pascua con mis discípulos?

12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

12 Entonces él os mostrará un gran aposento alto, ya dispuesto; preparadla allí.

13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

13 Fueron, pues, y hallaron como les había dicho; y prepararon la Pascua.

14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

14 Y cuando llegó la hora, se sentó a la mesa, y con él los doce apóstoles.

15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

15 Y les dijo: En gran manera he deseado comer con vosotros esta Pascua antes que yo padezca,

16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

16 porque os digo que no comeré más de ella hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios.

17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

17 Y tomando la copa, después de haber dado gracias, dijo: Tomad esto y repartidlo entre vosotros,

18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

18 porque os digo que no beberé más del fruto de la vid hasta que el reino de Dios venga.

19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

19 Entonces tomó el pan, y habiendo dado gracias, lo partió y les dio, diciendo: Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado; haced esto en memoria de mí.

20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

20 Asimismo, tomó también la copa, después que hubo cenado, diciendo: Esta copa es el nuevo convenio en mi sangre, que por vosotros se derrama.

21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

21 Mas, he aquí la mano del que me entrega está conmigo en la mesa.

22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

22 Y a la verdad el Hijo del Hombre va, según lo que está determinado; pero, ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien es entregado!

23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

23 Ellos entonces comenzaron a preguntarse entre sí cuál de ellos sería el que haría esto.

24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

24 Y hubo también entre ellos una disputa sobre quién de ellos sería el mayor.

25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

25 Entonces él les dijo: Los reyes de las naciones se enseñorean de ellas, y los que sobre ellas tienen potestad son llamados bienhechores.

26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

26 Pero entre vosotros no será así, sino que el mayor entre vosotros sea como el menor, y el que dirige, como el que sirve.

27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

27 Porque, ¿cuál es mayor, el que se sienta a la mesa o el que sirve? ¿No es el que se sienta a la mesa? Sin embargo, yo estoy entre vosotros como el que sirve.

28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.

28 Y vosotros sois los que habéis permanecido conmigo en mis pruebas.

29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

29 Yo, pues, os asigno un reino, como mi Padre me lo asignó a mí,

30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

30 para que comáis y bebáis a mi mesa en mi reino, y os sentéis en tronos para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

31 Dijo también el Señor: Simón, Simón, he aquí Satanás os ha pedido para zarandearos como a trigo;

32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

32 pero yo he rogado por ti, que tu fe no falte; y tú, una vez vuelto, fortalece a tus hermanos.

33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

33 Y él le dijo: Señor, dispuesto estoy a ir contigo aun a la cárcel y a la muerte.

34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

34 Y él dijo: Pedro, te digo que el gallo no cantará hoy antes que tú niegues tres veces que me conoces.

35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

35 Y les dijo: Cuando os envié sin bolsa, y sin alforja y sin sandalias, ¿os faltó algo? Y ellos dijeron: Nada.

36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

36 Y les dijo: Pues ahora, el que tiene bolsa, tómela, y también la alforja; y el que no tiene espada, venda su capa y compre una.

37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

37 Porque os digo que es necesario que se cumpla todavía en mí aquello que está escrito: Y con los malos fue contado, porque lo que está escrito de mí tiene cumplimiento.

38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

38 Entonces ellos dijeron: Señor, he aquí dos espadas. Y él les dijo: Basta.

39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

39 Y saliendo, se fue, como solía, al monte de los Olivos; y sus discípulos también le siguieron.

40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

40 Y cuando llegó a aquel lugar, les dijo: Orad para que no entréis en tentación.

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

41 Y él se apartó de ellos a una distancia como de un tiro de piedra; y puesto de rodillas oró,

42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

42 diciendo: Padre, si quieres, pasa de mí esta copa; pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya.

43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

43 Entonces se le apareció un ángel del cielo para fortalecerle.

44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

44 Y estando en agonía, oraba más intensamente; y era su sudor como grandes gotas de sangre que caían a tierra.

45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

45 Y cuando se levantó de la oración y fue a sus discípulos, los halló durmiendo a causa de la tristeza;

46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

46 y les dijo: ¿Por qué dormís? Levantaos y orad para que no entréis en tentación.

47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.

47 Mientras él aún hablaba, he aquí llegó una turba; y el que se llamaba Judas, uno de los doce, iba delante de ellos y se acercó a Jesús para besarlo.

48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

48 Entonces Jesús le dijo: Judas, ¿con un beso entregas al Hijo del Hombre?

49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

49 Y al ver los que estaban con él lo que iba a suceder, le dijeron: Señor, ¿heriremos a espada?

50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

50 Y uno de ellos hirió a un siervo del sumo sacerdote y le cortó la oreja derecha.

51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

51 Entonces, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Dejad, basta ya. Y tocando su oreja, le sanó.

52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?

52 Y Jesús dijo a los que habían venido a él, los principales sacerdotes, y los oficiales del templo y los ancianos: ¿Así como contra un ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos?

53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

53 Habiendo estado con vosotros cada día en el templo, no extendisteis las manos contra mí; mas esta es vuestra hora y la de la potestad de las tinieblas.

54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

54 Y apresándole, le llevaron y le condujeron a casa del sumo sacerdote. Y Pedro le seguía de lejos.

55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.

55 Y habiendo encendido fuego en medio del patio, y sentándose todos alrededor, se sentó también Pedro entre ellos.

56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.

56 Y cuando una criada le vio que estaba sentado al fuego, se fijó en él y dijo: Este estaba con él.

57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.

57 Entonces él lo negó, diciendo: Mujer, no le conozco.

58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.

58 Y un poco después, viéndole otro, dijo: Tú también eres de ellos. Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no lo soy.

59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilæan.

59 Y como una hora después, otro afirmaba, diciendo: Verdaderamente también este estaba con él, porque es galileo.

60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.

60 Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no sé lo que dices. Y enseguida, mientras él aún hablaba, el gallo cantó.

61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

61 Entonces, se volvió el Señor y miró a Pedro; y Pedro se acordó de la palabra que el Señor le había dicho: Antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.

62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

62 Y Pedro, saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente.

63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.

63 Y los hombres que vigilaban a Jesús se burlaban de él y le golpeaban;

64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

64 y vendándole los ojos, le golpeaban el rostro y le preguntaban, diciendo: Profetiza, ¿quién es el que te golpeó?

65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

65 Y decían otras muchas cosas, injuriándole.

66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,

66 Y cuando fue de día, se juntaron los ancianos del pueblo, y los principales sacerdotes y los escribas, y lo llevaron ante el concilio, diciendo:

67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

67 ¿Eres tú el Cristo?, dínos lo. Y les dijo: Si os lo digo, no creeréis;

68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.

68 y también, si os pregunto, no me responderéis ni me soltaréis.

69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

69 Mas de ahora en adelante el Hijo del Hombre se sentará a la diestra del poder de Dios.

70 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

70 Y dijeron todos: Entonces, ¿eres tú el Hijo de Dios? Y él les dijo: Vosotros decís que lo soy.

71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

71 Entonces ellos dijeron: ¿Qué más testimonio necesitamos?, porque nosotros mismos lo hemos oído de su boca.
