1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

1 Y mirando, Jesús vio a los ricos que echaban sus ofrendas en el arca del tesoro.

2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

2 Y vio también a una viuda pobre que echaba allí dos blancas.

3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

3 Entonces dijo: En verdad os digo que esta viuda pobre echó más que todos.

4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

4 Porque todos estos, de lo que les sobra echaron para las ofrendas de Dios; mas ella, de su pobreza, echó todo el sustento que tenía.

5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

5 Y a unos que hablaban de que el templo estaba adornado de hermosas piedras y dádivas, dijo:

6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

6 En cuanto a estas cosas que veis, días vendrán en que no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea destruida.

7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

7 Y le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, ¿cuándo será esto? ¿Y qué señal habrá cuando estas cosas estén a punto de suceder?

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

8 Él entonces dijo: Mirad que no seáis engañados, porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy; y: el tiempo está cerca; por tanto, no vayáis en pos de ellos.

9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

9 Pero cuando oigáis de guerras y de sediciones, no os espantéis; porque es necesario que estas cosas acontezcan primero; mas el fin no será inmediatamente.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

10 Entonces les dijo: Se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino;

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

11 y habrá grandes terremotos y, en varios lugares, hambres y pestilencias; y habrá cosas terribles y grandes señales del cielo.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

12 Pero antes de todas estas cosas os echarán mano y os perseguirán, entregándoos a las sinagogas y a las cárceles, y seréis llevados ante reyes y ante gobernadores por causa de mi nombre.

13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

13 Y esto os será ocasión para dar testimonio.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

14 Proponeos, pues, en vuestros corazones no pensar de antemano cómo habéis de responder;

15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

15 porque yo os daré palabras y sabiduría, a las cuales no podrán resistir ni contradecir ninguno de los que se os opongan.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

16 Y seréis entregados aun por vuestros padres, y hermanos, y parientes y amigos; y matarán a algunos de vosotros.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

17 Y seréis aborrecidos por todos por causa de mi nombre.

18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

18 Pero ni un cabello de vuestra cabeza perecerá.

19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

19 Con vuestra paciencia ganaréis vuestras almas.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

20 Y cuando veáis a Jerusalén rodeada de ejércitos, sabed entonces que su destrucción ha llegado.

21 Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

21 Entonces, los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes; y los que estén en medio de ella, váyanse; y los que estén en los campos, no entren en ella.

22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

22 Porque estos son días de venganza, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

23 Pero, ¡ay de las que estén encintas y de las que críen en aquellos días!, porque habrá gran calamidad en la tierra e ira sobre este pueblo.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

24 Y caerán a filo de espada y serán llevados cautivos a todas las naciones; y Jerusalén será hollada por los gentiles hasta que se cumplan los tiempos de los gentiles.

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

25 Entonces habrá señales en el sol, y en la luna y en las estrellas; y en la tierra habrá angustia de las naciones y confusión ante el bramido del mar y de las olas;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

26 desfalleciendo los hombres a causa del temor y de la expectación de las cosas que sobrevendrán en la tierra, porque los poderes de los cielos serán sacudidos.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

27 Y entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que vendrá en una nube con poder y gran gloria.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

28 Y cuando estas cosas comiencen a suceder, mirad y levantad vuestras cabezas, porque vuestra redención está cerca.

29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

29 Y también les dijo una parábola: Mirad la higuera y todos los árboles.

30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

30 Cuando veis que ya brotan, vosotros mismos entendéis que el verano ya está cerca.

31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

31 Así también vosotros, cuando veáis suceder estas cosas, sabed que está cerca el reino de Dios.

32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

32 De cierto os digo que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo esto haya acontecido.

33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

33 El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

34 Y mirad por vosotros, que vuestros corazones no se carguen de glotonería, y de embriaguez y de las preocupaciones de esta vida, y venga de repente sobre vosotros aquel día;

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

35 porque como una trampa vendrá sobre todos los que habitan sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

36 Velad, pues, orando en todo tiempo que seáis tenidos por dignos de escapar de todas estas cosas que han de venir, y de estar de pie delante del Hijo del Hombre.

37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

37 Y enseñaba de día en el templo; y de noche, saliendo, se quedaba en el monte que se llama de los Olivos.

38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

38 Y todo el pueblo venía a él por la mañana para oírle en el templo.
