1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

1 Y Jesús se fue al monte de los Olivos.

2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

2 Y por la mañana volvió al templo, y todo el pueblo vino a él; y sentado él, les enseñaba.

3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

3 Entonces los escribas y los fariseos le llevaron una mujer sorprendida en adulterio; y poniéndola en medio,

4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

4 le dijeron: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido sorprendida en el acto mismo de adulterio;

5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

5 y en la ley, Moisés nos mandó apedrear a tales mujeres; tú, pues, ¿qué dices?

6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

6 Mas esto decían tentándole, para tener de qué acusarle. Pero Jesús, inclinado hacia el suelo, escribía en la tierra con el dedo.

7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

7 Y como insistieron en preguntarle, se enderezó y les dijo: El que de entre vosotros esté sin pecado sea el primero en arrojar la piedra contra ella.

8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

8 E inclinándose de nuevo, siguió escribiendo en la tierra.

9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

9 Al oír esto, acusados por su conciencia, salieron uno a uno, comenzando desde los más viejos hasta los últimos; y quedaron solo Jesús y la mujer, que estaba en medio.

10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

10 Y enderezándose Jesús y no viendo a nadie más que a la mujer, le dijo: Mujer, ¿dónde están los que te acusaban? ¿Ninguno te ha condenado?

11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

11 Y ella dijo: Ninguno, Señor. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ni yo te condeno; vete, y no peques más.

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

12 Y Jesús les habló otra vez, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me sigue no andará en tinieblas, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida.

13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

13 Entonces los fariseos le dijeron: Tú das testimonio de ti mismo; tu testimonio no es verdadero.

14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

14 Respondió Jesús y les dijo: Aunque yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde he venido y a dónde voy; pero vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo ni a dónde voy.

15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

15 Vosotros juzgáis según la carne, pero yo no juzgo a nadie.

16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

16 Y si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero, porque no soy yo solo, sino yo y el Padre que me envió.

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

17 Y en vuestra ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.

18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

18 Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo, y el Padre que me envió da testimonio de mí.

19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

19 Y le dijeron: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Respondió Jesús: Ni a mí me conocéis, ni a mi Padre; si a mí me conocieseis, también a mi Padre conoceríais.

20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

20 Estas palabras habló Jesús en el lugar de las ofrendas, enseñando en el templo; y nadie le prendió, porque aún no había llegado su hora.

21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

21 Y les dijo otra vez Jesús: Yo me voy, y me buscaréis, pero en vuestro pecado moriréis; a donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir.

22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

22 Decían entonces los judíos: ¿Acaso se irá a matar, que dice: A donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir?

23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

23 Y les dijo: Vosotros sois de abajo; yo soy de arriba; vosotros sois de este mundo; yo no soy de este mundo.

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

24 Por eso os dije que moriréis en vuestros pecados, porque si no creéis que yo soy, en vuestros pecados moriréis.

25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

25 Y le dijeron: Tú, ¿quién eres? Entonces Jesús les dijo: Lo que desde el principio os he dicho.

26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

26 Muchas cosas tengo que decir y juzgar de vosotros, pero el que me envió es verdadero; y yo, lo que he oído de él, esto hablo al mundo.

27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

27 Pero no entendieron que él les hablaba del Padre.

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

28 Les dijo, pues, Jesús: Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del Hombre, entonces sabréis que yo soy, y que nada hago por mí mismo, sino que, como el Padre me enseñó, así hablo.

29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

29 Porque el que me envió, conmigo está; no me ha dejado solo el Padre, porque yo hago siempre lo que a él le agrada.

30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.

30 Al decir él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

31 Dijo Jesús a los judíos que habían creído en él: Si vosotros permaneciereis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

32 y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os hará libres.

33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

33 Y le respondieron: Linaje de Abraham somos y jamás hemos sido esclavos de nadie. ¿Cómo dices tú: Seréis libres?

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

34 Jesús les respondió: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo aquel que comete pecado, esclavo es del pecado.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

35 Y el esclavo no se queda en la casa para siempre, mas el hijo sí se queda para siempre.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

36 Así que, si el Hijo os hace libres, seréis verdaderamente libres.

37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

37 Sé que sois descendientes de Abraham; sin embargo, procuráis matarme, porque mi palabra no tiene cabida en vosotros.

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

38 Yo hablo lo que he visto estando junto al Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis visto junto a vuestro padre.

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

39 Respondieron y le dijeron: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Jesús les dijo: Si fuerais hijos de Abraham, las obras de Abraham haríais.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

40 Pero ahora procuráis matarme a mí, un hombre que os ha hablado la verdad, la cual he oído de Dios; eso no hizo Abraham.

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

41 Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre. Entonces le dijeron: Nosotros no hemos nacido de fornicación; un padre tenemos, que es Dios.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

42 Jesús entonces les dijo: Si vuestro padre fuera Dios, ciertamente me amaríais, porque yo de Dios he salido y he venido; pues no he venido por mí mismo, sino que él me envió.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

43 ¿Por qué no entendéis mi lenguaje? Porque no podéis oír mi palabra.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

44 Vosotros sois de vuestro padre el diablo, y los deseos de vuestro padre queréis hacer. Él ha sido homicida desde el principio y no ha permanecido en la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de sí mismo habla, porque es mentiroso y padre de la mentira.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

45 Y a mí, porque yo digo la verdad, no me creéis.

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

46 ¿Quién de vosotros me acusa de pecado? Pues si digo la verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

47 El que es de Dios, las palabras de Dios oye; por esto no las oís vosotros, porque no sois de Dios.

48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

48 Respondieron entonces los judíos y le dijeron: ¿No decimos bien nosotros que tú eres samaritano y que tienes demonio?

49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

49 Respondió Jesús: Yo no tengo demonio, antes bien honro a mi Padre; y vosotros me deshonráis a mí.

50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

50 Pero yo no busco mi gloria; hay quien la busca y juzga.

51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

51 De cierto, de cierto os digo que el que guarda mi palabra no verá la muerte jamás.

52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

52 Entonces los judíos le dijeron: Ahora sabemos que tienes demonio. Abraham murió, y también los profetas, y tú dices: El que guarda mi palabra no gustará la muerte jamás.

53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

53 ¿Eres tú acaso mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, que murió? También los profetas murieron; ¿quién te haces a ti mismo?

54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

54 Respondió Jesús: Si yo me glorifico a mí mismo, mi gloria no es nada; mi Padre es el que me glorifica, el que vosotros decís que es vuestro Dios.

55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

55 Y vosotros no le conocéis, pero yo sí le conozco; y si digo que no le conozco, sería mentiroso como vosotros; pero le conozco y guardo su palabra.

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

56 Abraham, vuestro padre, se regocijó de que vería mi día; y lo vio y se regocijó.

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

57 Le dijeron entonces los judíos: Aún no tienes cincuenta años, ¿y has visto a Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

58 Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Antes que Abraham fuese, yo soy.

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

59 Tomaron entonces piedras para arrojárselas, pero Jesús se escondió y salió del templo; y atravesando por en medio de ellos, se fue.
