1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

1 Después de esto, Jesús se fue al otro lado del mar de Galilea, que es el de Tiberias.

2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

2 Y le seguía una gran multitud, porque veían los milagros que hacía en los enfermos.

3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

3 Y subió Jesús a un monte y se sentó allí con sus discípulos.

4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

4 Y estaba cerca la Pascua, la fiesta de los judíos.

5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

5 Y cuando alzó Jesús los ojos y vio que había venido a él una gran multitud, dijo a Felipe: ¿De dónde compraremos pan para que coman estos?

6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

6 Pero esto decía para probarle, porque él sabía lo que iba a hacer.

7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

7 Felipe le respondió: Doscientos denarios de pan no les bastarán para que cada uno de ellos tome un poco.

8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

8 Uno de sus discípulos, Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, le dijo:

9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

9 Aquí hay un muchacho que tiene cinco panes de cebada y dos pescados; pero, ¿qué es esto para tantos?

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

10 Entonces Jesús dijo: Haced recostar a la gente. Y había mucha hierba en aquel lugar, y se recostaron como en número de cinco mil hombres.

11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

11 Y tomó Jesús aquellos panes, y habiendo dado gracias, los repartió a los discípulos, y los discípulos a los que estaban recostados; asimismo repartió de los pescados, cuanto querían.

12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

12 Y cuando se saciaron, dijo a sus discípulos: Recoged lo que ha quedado, para que no se pierda nada.

13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

13 Recogieron, pues, y llenaron doce cestas de pedazos de los cinco panes de cebada que les sobraron a los que habían comido.

14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

14 Entonces aquellos hombres, cuando vieron el milagro que Jesús había hecho, dijeron: Verdaderamente este es el profeta que había de venir al mundo.

15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

15 Pero entendiendo Jesús que iban a venir para apoderarse de él y hacerle rey, volvió a retirarse al monte, él solo.

16 And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,

16 Y al anochecer, descendieron sus discípulos al mar;

17 And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

17 y entrando en una barca, iban cruzando al otro lado del mar hacia Capernaúm. Y estaba ya oscuro, y Jesús no había venido a ellos.

18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

18 Y se encrespaba el mar con un gran viento que soplaba.

19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

19 Y cuando habían remado como veinticinco o treinta estadios, vieron a Jesús que andaba sobre el mar y que se acercaba a la barca, y tuvieron miedo.

20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

20 Mas él les dijo: ¡Yo soy; no temáis!

21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

21 Ellos entonces le recibieron con gusto en la barca, y enseguida la barca llegó a la tierra a donde iban.

22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;

22 Al día siguiente, la gente que estaba al otro lado del mar vio que no había habido allí más que una sola barca y que Jesús no había entrado en ella con sus discípulos, sino que sus discípulos se habían ido solos.

23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)

23 Pero otras barcas habían arribado de Tiberias junto al lugar donde habían comido el pan después de haber dado gracias el Señor.

24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

24 Cuando vio, pues, la gente que Jesús no estaba allí, ni sus discípulos, entraron ellos en las barcas y fueron a Capernaúm, buscando a Jesús.

25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

25 Y hallándole al otro lado del mar, le dijeron: Rabí, ¿cuándo llegaste acá?

26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

26 Les respondió Jesús y dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo que me buscáis, no porque habéis visto los milagros, sino porque comisteis el pan y os saciasteis.

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

27 Trabajad, no por la comida que perece, sino por la comida que permanece para vida eterna, la cual el Hijo del Hombre os dará, porque a este selló Dios el Padre.

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

28 Entonces le dijeron: ¿Qué haremos para poner en práctica las obras de Dios?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

29 Respondió Jesús y les dijo: Esta es la obra de Dios: que creáis en el que él ha enviado.

30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

30 Entonces le dijeron: ¿Qué señal, pues, haces tú, para que veamos y te creamos? ¿Qué obra haces?

31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

31 Nuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto, como está escrito: Pan del cielo les dio a comer.

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

32 Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No os dio Moisés el pan del cielo, sino mi Padre os da el verdadero pan del cielo.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

33 Porque el pan de Dios es aquel que descendió del cielo y da vida al mundo.

34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

34 Y le dijeron: Señor, danos siempre este pan.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

35 Y Jesús les dijo: Yo soy el pan de vida; el que a mí viene nunca tendrá hambre; y el que en mí cree no tendrá sed jamás.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

36 Pero ya os he dicho que, aunque me habéis visto, no creéis.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

37 Todo lo que el Padre me da vendrá a mí; y al que a mí viene, no le echaré fuera.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

38 Porque he descendido del cielo, no para hacer mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

39 Y esta es la voluntad del Padre que me envió: Que todo lo que me ha dado no lo pierda, sino que lo resucite en el día postrero.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

40 Y esta es la voluntad del que me ha enviado: Que todo aquel que ve al Hijo y cree en él tenga vida eterna; y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.

41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

41 Murmuraban entonces de él los judíos, porque había dicho: Yo soy el pan que descendió del cielo.

42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

42 Y decían: ¿No es este Jesús, el hijo de José, cuyo padre y madre nosotros conocemos? ¿Cómo, pues, ahora dice: Del cielo he descendido?

43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

43 Y Jesús respondió y les dijo: No murmuréis entre vosotros.

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

44 Ninguno puede venir a mí si el Padre que me envió no le trajere; y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

45 Escrito está en los profetas: Y todos serán enseñados por Dios. Así que, todo aquel que ha oído al Padre y ha aprendido de él viene a mí.

46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

46 No que alguno haya visto al Padre, sino aquel que viene de Dios, este ha visto al Padre.

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

47 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que cree en mí tiene vida eterna.

48 I am that bread of life.

48 Yo soy el pan de vida.

49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

49 Vuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto y están muertos.

50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

50 Este es el pan que desciende del cielo, para que el que de él coma no muera.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

51 Yo soy el pan vivo que ha descendido del cielo; si alguno come de este pan, vivirá para siempre; y el pan que yo daré es mi carne, la cual yo daré por la vida del mundo.

52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

52 Entonces los judíos contendían entre sí, diciendo: ¿Cómo puede este darnos a comer su carne?

53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

53 Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Si no coméis la carne del Hijo del Hombre ni bebéis su sangre, no tenéis vida en vosotros.

54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

54 El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre tiene vida eterna, y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.

55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

55 Porque mi carne verdaderamente es comida, y mi sangre verdaderamente es bebida.

56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

56 El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre permanece en mí y yo en él.

57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

57 Así como me envió el Padre viviente, y yo vivo por el Padre, asimismo, el que me come también vivirá por mí.

58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

58 Este es el pan que descendió del cielo, no como vuestros padres, que comieron el maná y murieron. El que come de este pan vivirá eternamente.

59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

59 Estas cosas dijo en la sinagoga, enseñando en Capernaúm.

60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

60 Entonces, al oír lo, muchos de sus discípulos dijeron: Dura es esta palabra; ¿quién la puede oír?

61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

61 Y sabiendo Jesús en sí mismo que sus discípulos murmuraban de esto, les dijo: ¿Esto os escandaliza?

62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

62 ¿Pues qué, si vierais al Hijo del Hombre subir a donde estaba primero?

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

63 El espíritu es el que da vida; la carne para nada aprovecha; las palabras que yo os he hablado son espíritu y son vida.

64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

64 Pero hay algunos de vosotros que no creen. Porque Jesús sabía desde el principio quiénes eran los que no creían y quién le había de entregar.

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

65 Y dijo: Por eso os he dicho que ninguno puede venir a mí, si no le es concedido por el Padre.

66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

66 Desde entonces, muchos de sus discípulos volvieron atrás y ya no andaban con él.

67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

67 Dijo entonces Jesús a los doce: ¿También vosotros queréis iros?

68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

68 Y le respondió Simón Pedro: Señor, ¿a quién iremos? Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna.

69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

69 Y nosotros hemos creído y sabemos que tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Dios viviente.

70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

70 Jesús les respondió: ¿No os he escogido yo a vosotros doce, y uno de vosotros es diablo?

71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

71 Y hablaba de Judas Iscariote hijo de Simón, porque este era el que le iba a entregar, y era uno de los doce.
