1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

1 Estas cosas os he hablado, para que no tengáis tropiezo.

2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

2 Os expulsarán de las sinagogas; y aun viene la hora cuando cualquiera que os mate pensará que rinde servicio a Dios.

3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

3 Y os harán esto porque no han conocido ni al Padre ni a mí.

4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

4 Pero os he dicho esto para que, cuando llegue la hora, os acordéis de que yo os lo había dicho. Esto no os lo dije al principio, porque yo estaba con vosotros.

5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

5 Pero ahora voy al que me envió, y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿A dónde vas?

6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

6 Antes bien, porque os he dicho estas cosas, la tristeza ha llenado vuestro corazón.

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

7 Pero yo os digo la verdad: Os conviene que yo me vaya; porque si yo no me voy, el Consolador no vendrá a vosotros; pero si yo me voy, os lo enviaré.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

8 Y cuando él venga, reprenderá al mundo acerca del pecado, y de la justicia y del juicio.

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

9 Acerca del pecado, por cuanto no creen en mí;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

10 y acerca de la justicia, por cuanto voy al Padre, y no me veréis más;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

11 y acerca del juicio, por cuanto el príncipe de este mundo ya ha sido juzgado.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

12 Aún tengo muchas cosas que deciros, pero ahora no las podéis sobrellevar.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

13 Pero cuando venga el Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará a toda la verdad; porque no hablará por sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oiga y os hará saber las cosas que han de venir.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

14 Él me glorificará, porque tomará de lo mío y os lo hará saber.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

15 Todo lo que tiene el Padre es mío; por eso dije que tomará de lo mío y os lo hará saber.

16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

16 Un poquito más, y no me veréis; y de nuevo un poquito, y me veréis, porque yo voy al Padre.

17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

17 Entonces algunos de sus discípulos se decían unos a otros: ¿Qué es esto que nos dice: Un poquito más, y no me veréis; y de nuevo un poquito, y me veréis; y, porque yo voy al Padre?

18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

18 Decían pues: ¿Qué es esto que dice: Un poquito más? No entendemos lo que habla.

19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

19 Y Jesús entendió que querían preguntarle, y les dijo: ¿Preguntáis entre vosotros de esto que dije: Un poquito más, y no me veréis, y de nuevo un poquito, y me veréis?

20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

20 De cierto, de cierto os digo que vosotros lloraréis y os lamentaréis, y el mundo se alegrará; y aunque vosotros estaréis tristes, vuestra tristeza se convertirá en gozo.

21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

21 La mujer, cuando da a luz, tiene dolor, porque ha llegado su hora; pero después que ha dado a luz un niño, ya no se acuerda de la angustia, por el gozo de que haya nacido un hombre en el mundo.

22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

22 También vosotros ahora ciertamente tenéis tristeza; pero os veré otra vez, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie os quitará vuestro gozo.

23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

23 Y en aquel día no me preguntaréis nada. De cierto, de cierto os digo que todo cuanto pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará.

24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

24 Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre; pedid y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea completo.

25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

25 Estas cosas os he hablado en parábolas; la hora viene cuando ya no os hablaré en parábolas, sino que claramente os anunciaré acerca del Padre.

26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

26 En aquel día pediréis en mi nombre, y no os digo que yo rogaré al Padre por vosotros,

27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

27 pues el Padre mismo os ama, porque vosotros me habéis amado y habéis creído que yo salí de Dios.

28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

28 Salí del Padre y he venido al mundo; otra vez dejo el mundo y voy al Padre.

29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

29 Le dijeron sus discípulos: He aquí, ahora hablas claramente, y ninguna parábola dices.

30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

30 Ahora entendemos que sabes todas las cosas, y no necesitas que nadie te pregunte; por esto creemos que has salido de Dios.

31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

31 Jesús les respondió: ¿Ahora creéis?

32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

32 He aquí, la hora viene, y ha venido ya, en que seréis esparcidos cada uno a lo suyo y me dejaréis solo; pero no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

33 Estas cosas os he hablado para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis aflicción. Pero confiad; yo he vencido al mundo.
