1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

1 ¡Oh gálatas insensatos! ¿Quién os fascinó, para no obedecer la verdad, a vosotros, ante cuyos ojos Jesucristo fue ya presentado claramente como crucificado?

2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

2 Esto solo quiero saber de vosotros: ¿Recibisteis el Espíritu por las obras de la ley, o por el oír con fe?

3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

3 ¿Tan necios sois? ¿Habiendo comenzado por el Espíritu, ahora os perfeccionáis por la carne?

4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

4 ¿Tantas cosas habéis padecido en vano?, si de veras fue en vano.

5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

5 Aquel, pues, que os da el Espíritu y hace milagros entre vosotros, ¿lo hace por las obras de la ley, o por el oír con fe?

6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

6 Como Abraham creyó a Dios y le fue contado por justicia.

7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

7 Sabed, por tanto, que los que son de fe, estos son hijos de Abraham.

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

8 Y la Escritura, previendo que Dios había de justificar por la fe a los gentiles, anunció de antemano el evangelio a Abraham, diciendo: En ti serán benditas todas las naciones.

9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

9 Así que los que son de fe son benditos con el creyente Abraham.

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

10 Porque todos los que son de las obras de la ley están bajo maldición. Porque escrito está: Maldito todo aquel que no permanezca en todas las cosas que están escritas en el libro de la ley, para hacerlas.

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

11 Y que por la ley ninguno se justifica ante Dios, es evidente, porque: El justo por la fe vivirá.

12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

12 Pero la ley no procede de la fe, sino que dice: El hombre que haga estas cosas, vivirá por ellas.

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

13 Cristo nos redimió de la maldición de la ley, habiéndose hecho maldición por nosotros (porque está escrito: Maldito todo el que es colgado en un madero),

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

14 para que en Cristo Jesús la bendición de Abraham fuese sobre los gentiles, a fin de que por la fe recibiésemos la promesa del Espíritu.

15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

15 Hermanos, hablo en términos humanos: Un pacto, aunque sea de hombre, una vez confirmado, nadie lo invalida ni le añade.

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

16 Ahora bien, a Abraham fueron hechas las promesas, y a su descendencia. No dice: Y a los descendientes, como si hablara de muchos, sino como de uno: Y a tu descendencia, la cual es Cristo.

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

17 Esto, pues, digo: El convenio previamente confirmado por Dios para con Cristo, la ley, que fue hecha cuatrocientos treinta años después, no lo abroga, como para invalidar la promesa.

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

18 Porque si la herencia es por la ley, ya no es por la promesa; pero mediante la promesa, Dios la concedió a Abraham.

19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

19 Entonces, ¿de qué sirve la ley? Fue añadida a causa de las transgresiones, hasta que viniese la descendencia a quien fue hecha la promesa, ordenada aquella por medio de ángeles por mano de un mediador.

20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

20 Y el mediador no es de uno solo, pero Dios es uno.

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

21 Entonces, ¿está la ley contra las promesas de Dios? ¡De ninguna manera! Porque si la ley dada pudiera vivificar, la justicia sería verdaderamente por la ley.

22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

22 Pero la Escritura lo encerró todo bajo pecado, para que la promesa que es por la fe en Jesucristo fuese dada a los creyentes.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

23 Pero antes que viniese la fe, estábamos guardados bajo la ley, encerrados para aquella fe que iba a ser revelada.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

24 De manera que la ley fue nuestro ayo para llevarnos a Cristo, a fin de que fuésemos justificados por la fe.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

25 Pero ahora que ha venido la fe, ya no estamos bajo ayo,

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

26 porque todos sois hijos de Dios por la fe en Cristo Jesús.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

27 Pues todos los que habéis sido bautizados en Cristo, de Cristo estáis revestidos.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

28 Ya no hay judío, ni griego; no hay esclavo, ni libre; no hay varón, ni mujer; porque todos vosotros sois uno en Cristo Jesús.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

29 Y si vosotros sois de Cristo, ciertamente descendientes de Abraham sois, y herederos conforme a la promesa.
