1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

1 Después, pasados catorce años, subí otra vez a Jerusalén juntamente con Bernabé, llevando también conmigo a Tito.

2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

2 Y subí por revelación, y expuse el evangelio que predico entre los gentiles, en privado, a los que parecían ser personas importantes, para no correr o haber corrido en vano.

3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

3 Pero ni siquiera Tito, que estaba conmigo, siendo griego, fue obligado a circuncidarse.

4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

4 Y eso a pesar de los falsos hermanos, que entraban secretamente para espiar nuestra libertad que tenemos en Cristo Jesús, para reducirnos a esclavitud;

5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

5 a quienes ni por un momento accedimos a someternos, para que la verdad del evangelio permaneciese con vosotros.

6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

6 Pero de los que parecían ser importantes (lo que hayan sido en otro tiempo nada me importa; Dios no hace acepción de personas), ciertamente los que parecían ser importantes nada nuevo me añadieron.

7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

7 Antes por el contrario, como vieron que se me había encomendado el evangelio de la incircuncisión, como a Pedro el de la circuncisión

8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

8 (porque el que actuó en Pedro para el apostolado de la circuncisión actuó también en mí para con los gentiles),

9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

9 y reconociendo la gracia que se me había dado, Jacobo, y Cefas y Juan, que eran considerados como columnas, nos dieron a mí y a Bernabé, la diestra en señal de compañerismo para que nosotros fuésemos a los gentiles, y ellos a los de la circuncisión.

10 Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

10 Solamente nos pidieron que nos acordásemos de los pobres, lo cual también fui solícito en hacer.

11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

11 Pero cuando Pedro vino a Antioquía, le resistí cara a cara, porque era de condenar.

12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

12 Porque antes que viniesen algunos de parte de Jacobo, comía con los gentiles; pero después que vinieron, se retraía y se apartaba, pues tenía miedo a los que eran de la circuncisión.

13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

13 Y en su simulación consentían también los otros judíos, de tal manera que aun Bernabé fue también arrastrado por la hipocresía de ellos.

14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

14 Pero cuando vi que no andaban rectamente conforme a la verdad del evangelio, dije a Pedro delante de todos: Si tú, siendo judío, vives como los gentiles y no como judío, ¿por qué obligas a los gentiles a judaizar?

15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

15 Nosotros, judíos de nacimiento, y no pecadores de entre los gentiles,

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

16 sabiendo que el hombre no es justificado por las obras de la ley, sino por la fe en Jesucristo, nosotros también hemos creído en Jesucristo, para ser justificados por la fe en Cristo, y no por las obras de la ley; por cuanto por las obras de la ley ninguna carne será justificada.

17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

17 Ahora bien, si buscando nosotros ser justificados en Cristo, también resultamos ser pecadores, ¿es por eso Cristo ministro de pecado? ¡De ninguna manera!

18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

18 Porque si las cosas que destruí, las mismas vuelvo a edificar, transgresor me hago.

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

19 Porque yo por la ley he muerto a la ley, a fin de vivir para Dios.

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

20 Con Cristo estoy juntamente crucificado, y ya no vivo yo, mas vive Cristo en mí; y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de Dios, el que me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí.

21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

21 No desecho la gracia de Dios, porque si por la ley viene la justicia, entonces en vano murió Cristo.
