1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

1 Pero hubo también falsos profetas entre el pueblo, como habrá entre vosotros falsos maestros que introducirán encubiertamente herejías destructivas, y hasta negarán al Señor que los rescató, atrayendo sobre sí mismos una destrucción repentina.

2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

2 Y muchos seguirán sus lascivias, y por causa de ellos, el camino de la verdad será blasfemado;

3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

3 y por avaricia os explotarán con palabras fingidas. Sobre ellos la antigua condenación no se tarda, y su perdición no se duerme.

4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

4 Porque si Dios no perdonó a los ángeles que pecaron, sino que, habiéndolos arrojado al infierno, los entregó a cadenas de oscuridad, para ser reservados para el juicio;

5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

5 y si no perdonó al mundo antiguo, sino que protegió a Noé, pregonero de justicia, con otras siete personas, al traer el diluvio sobre el mundo de los impíos;

6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

6 y si condenó a la destrucción las ciudades de Sodoma y de Gomorra, reduciéndolas a ceniza, y poniéndolas de ejemplo a los que habrían de vivir impíamente,

7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

7 y si libró al justo Lot, abrumado por la conducta licenciosa de los malvados

8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

8 (porque este justo, mientras moraba entre ellos, afligía cada día su alma justa al ver y oír los hechos inicuos de ellos);

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

9 entonces el Señor sabe librar de la tentación a los piadosos, y reservar a los injustos para ser castigados en el día del juicio;

10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

10 y principalmente a aquellos que, siguiendo la carne, andan en concupiscencia e inmundicia, y desprecian la autoridad; atrevidos, obstinados, que no temen hablar mal de las potestades superiores,

11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

11 mientras que los mismos ángeles, que son mayores en fuerza y en poder, no pronuncian juicio de maldición contra ellos delante del Señor.

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

12 Pero estos, hablando mal de las cosas que no entienden, como animales irracionales naturales, nacidos para presa y destrucción, perecerán en su propia corrupción,

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

13 recibiendo el pago de su injusticia, ya que consideran delicia el gozar de deleites en pleno día. Estos son inmundicias y manchas, quienes aun mientras comen con vosotros se recrean en sus errores;

14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

14 tienen los ojos llenos de adulterio, y no cesan de pecar; seducen a las almas inconstantes; tienen el corazón ejercitado en la codicia; son hijos de maldición

15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

15 que han dejado el camino recto, y se han extraviado, siguiendo el camino de Balaam hijo de Beor, el que amó el pago de la maldad.

16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

16 Y fue reprendido por su iniquidad, pues una muda bestia de carga, hablando con voz de hombre, refrenó la locura del profeta.

17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

17 Esos son fuentes sin agua y brumas empujadas por torbellino de viento, para quienes está reservada la oscuridad de las tinieblas para siempre.

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

18 Porque hablando arrogantes palabras de vanidad, seducen con las concupiscencias de la carne y lascivias a los que verdaderamente habían escapado de los que viven en el error;

19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

19 les prometen libertad, siendo ellos mismos esclavos de la corrupción. Porque el que es vencido por alguno es hecho esclavo del que lo venció.

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

20 Ciertamente, si habiéndose ellos escapado de las contaminaciones del mundo, por el conocimiento del Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, y otra vez se enredan en ellas y son vencidos, su estado final viene a ser peor que el primero.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

21 Porque mejor les hubiera sido no haber conocido el camino de la justicia que, después de haberlo conocido, apartarse del santo mandamiento que les fue dado.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

22 Pero les ha acontecido acertadamente lo del proverbio: El perro vuelve a su vómito, y la puerca lavada, a revolcarse en el cieno.
