1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

1 Exhorto, pues, ante todo, a que se hagan plegarias, oraciones, peticiones y acciones de gracias por todos los hombres,

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

2 por los reyes y por todos los que están en eminencia, para que vivamos quieta y reposadamente en toda piedad y honestidad.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

3 Porque esto es bueno y agradable delante de Dios nuestro Salvador,

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

4 el que quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos y vengan al conocimiento de la verdad.

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

5 Porque hay un solo Dios, y un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, Jesucristo hombre,

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

6 quien se dio a sí mismo en rescate por todos, de lo cual se dio testimonio a su debido tiempo.

7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

7 Para esto yo fui constituido predicador y apóstol (digo la verdad en Cristo, no miento), maestro de los gentiles en fe y verdad.

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

8 Quiero, pues, que los hombres oren en todo lugar, levantando manos santas, sin ira ni contienda.

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

9 Asimismo, que también las mujeres se atavíen con vestimenta decorosa, con pudor y modestia; no con peinados ostentosos, ni oro, ni perlas ni vestidos costosos,

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

10 sino con buenas obras, como corresponde a mujeres que profesan piedad.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

11 La mujer aprenda en silencio, con toda sujeción.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

12 Porque no permito a la mujer enseñar, ni ejercer dominio sobre el hombre, sino estar en silencio.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

13 Porque Adán fue formado primero, después Eva;

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

14 y Adán no fue engañado, sino la mujer, siendo engañada, incurrió en transgresión.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

15 No obstante se salvará engendrando hijos, si permanece en fe, amor y santidad, con modestia.
