1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

1 Pero acerca de los tiempos y de las estaciones, no tenéis necesidad, hermanos, de que yo os escriba.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

2 Porque vosotros sabéis perfectamente que el día del Señor vendrá así como ladrón en la noche,

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

3 que cuando digan: Paz y seguridad, entonces vendrá sobre ellos destrucción repentina, como los dolores a la mujer encinta, y no escaparán.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

4 Mas vosotros, hermanos, no estáis en tinieblas, para que aquel día os sorprenda como ladrón;

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

5 porque todos vosotros sois hijos de luz, e hijos del día; no somos de la noche, ni de las tinieblas.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

6 Por tanto, no durmamos como los demás, sino velemos y seamos sobrios.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

7 Porque los que duermen, de noche duermen; y los que se emborrachan, de noche se emborrachan.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

8 Pero nosotros, que somos del día, seamos sobrios, habiéndonos vestido con la coraza de la fe y del amor, y con la esperanza de la salvación como yelmo.

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

9 Porque no nos ha puesto Dios para ira, sino para alcanzar salvación por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

10 quien murió por nosotros, ya sea que velemos, o que durmamos, vivamos juntamente con él.

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

11 Por lo cual, consolaos los unos a los otros, y edificaos los unos a los otros, así como lo hacéis.

12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

12 Y os rogamos, hermanos, que reconozcáis a los que trabajan entre vosotros, y os presiden en el Señor, y os amonestan;

13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

13 y que los tengáis en mucha estima por causa de su obra. Tened paz los unos con los otros.

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

14 También os rogamos, hermanos, que amonestéis a los que andan desordenadamente, que consoléis a los de poco ánimo, que sostengáis a los débiles, que seáis pacientes para con todos.

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

15 Mirad que ninguno devuelva a otro mal por mal, sino seguid lo bueno siempre los unos para con los otros, y para con todos.

16 Rejoice evermore.

16 Estad siempre gozosos.

17 Pray without ceasing.

17 Orad sin cesar.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

18 Dad gracias en todo, porque esta es la voluntad de Dios para con vosotros en Cristo Jesús.

19 Quench not the Spirit.

19 No apaguéis el Espíritu.

20 Despise not prophesyings.

20 No menospreciéis las profecías.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

21 Examinadlo todo; retened lo bueno.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

22 Apartaos de toda apariencia de mal.

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

23 Y el mismo Dios de paz os santifique por completo; y todo vuestro ser, y espíritu, y alma y cuerpo sea guardado irreprensible para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

24 Fiel es el que os ha llamado, quien también lo hará.

25 Brethren, pray for us.

25 Hermanos, orad por nosotros.

26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

26 Saludad a todos los hermanos con beso santo.

27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

27 Os encargo, por el Señor, que esta carta sea leída a todos los santos hermanos.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

28 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con vosotros. Amén.
