1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

1 Ruego a los ancianos que están entre vosotros, yo anciano también con ellos, y testigo de los padecimientos de Cristo, que soy también participante de la gloria que será revelada:

2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

2 Apacentad la grey de Dios que está entre vosotros, cuidando de ella, no por fuerza, sino voluntariamente; no por ganancia deshonesta, sino con ánimo pronto;

3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

3 no como teniendo señorío sobre los rebaños del Señor, sino siendo ejemplos de la grey.

4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

4 Y cuando aparezca el Príncipe de los pastores, vosotros recibiréis la corona incorruptible de gloria.

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

5 Igualmente, jóvenes, estad sujetos a los ancianos; y todos sumisos unos a otros, revestíos de humildad, porque: Dios resiste a los soberbios, y da gracia a los humildes.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

6 Humillaos, pues, bajo la poderosa mano de Dios, para que él os exalte a su debido tiempo,

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

7 echando toda vuestra ansiedad sobre él, porque él tiene cuidado de vosotros.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

8 Sed sobrios, y velad, porque vuestro adversario el diablo, cual león rugiente, anda alrededor buscando a quien devorar;

9 Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

9 al cual resistid firmes en la fe, sabiendo que las mismas aflicciones han de ser cumplidas en vuestros hermanos que están en el mundo.

10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

10 Mas el Dios de toda gracia, que nos ha llamado a su gloria eterna en Jesucristo, después que hayáis padecido un poco de tiempo, él mismo os perfeccione, afirme, fortalezca y establezca.

11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

11 A él sean la gloria y el dominio para siempre. Amén.

12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

12 Por conducto de Silvano, a quien considero un hermano fiel, os he escrito brevemente, amonestándoos y testificando que esta es la verdadera gracia de Dios, en la cual estáis.

13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.

13 La iglesia que está en Babilonia, elegida juntamente con vosotros, y Marcos, mi hijo, os saludan.

14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

14 Saludaos unos a otros con un beso de amor. La paz sea con todos vosotros los que estáis en Jesucristo. Amén.
