1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

1 Lo que era desde el principio, lo que hemos oído, lo que hemos visto con nuestros ojos, lo que hemos contemplado y lo que palparon nuestras manos tocante al Verbo de vida

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

2 (porque la vida fue manifestada, y la hemos visto, y testificamos y os anunciamos la vida eterna, que estaba con el Padre y se nos ha manifestado);

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

3 lo que hemos visto y oído, eso os anunciamos, para que también vosotros tengáis comunión con nosotros; y nuestra comunión verdaderamente es con el Padre y con su Hijo Jesucristo.

4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

4 Y estas cosas os escribimos, para que vuestro gozo sea completo.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

5 Y este es el mensaje que hemos oído de él y que os anunciamos: Dios es luz, y en él no hay ningunas tinieblas.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

6 Si decimos que tenemos comunión con él y andamos en tinieblas, mentimos y no practicamos la verdad;

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

7 pero si andamos en la luz, como él está en la luz, tenemos comunión los unos con los otros, y la sangre de Jesucristo, su Hijo, nos limpia de todo pecado.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

8 Si decimos que no tenemos pecado, nos engañamos a nosotros mismos, y la verdad no está en nosotros.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

9 Si confesamos nuestros pecados, él es fiel y justo para perdonar nuestros pecados y limpiarnos de toda maldad.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

10 Si decimos que no hemos pecado, lo hacemos a él mentiroso, y su palabra no está en nosotros.
