1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

1 Así, pues, téngannos los hombres por ministros de Cristo, y mayordomos de los misterios de Dios.

2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

2 Ahora bien, se requiere de los mayordomos que cada uno sea hallado fiel.

3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

3 Yo en muy poco tengo el ser juzgado por vosotros, o por tribunal humano; y ni aun yo me juzgo a mí mismo.

4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

4 Porque aunque de nada tengo mala conciencia, no por eso soy justificado; pero el que me juzga es el Señor.

5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

5 Así que, no juzguéis nada antes de tiempo, hasta que venga el Señor, quien también aclarará lo oculto de las tinieblas, y manifestará las intenciones de los corazones; y entonces cada uno recibirá de Dios la alabanza.

6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

6 Pero esto, hermanos, lo he aplicado en sentido figurado a mí y a Apolos por amor de vosotros, para que en nosotros aprendáis a no ir más allá de lo que está escrito, no sea que por causa de uno, os envanezcáis el uno contra el otro.

7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

7 Porque, ¿quién te distingue? ¿O qué tienes que no hayas recibido? Y si lo recibiste, ¿por qué te glorías como si no lo hubieras recibido?

8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

8 Ya estáis saciados, ya sois ricos, y sin nosotros reináis; y ojalá reinaseis, para que nosotros reinásemos también juntamente con vosotros.

9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

9 Porque según lo que pienso, Dios nos ha mostrado a nosotros los apóstoles como los postreros, como a sentenciados a muerte; porque somos hechos espectáculo al mundo, y a los ángeles y a los hombres.

10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

10 Nosotros somos insensatos por amor de Cristo, y vosotros sois prudentes en Cristo; nosotros, débiles, y vosotros, fuertes; vosotros, nobles, y nosotros, despreciados.

11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

11 Hasta esta hora padecemos hambre, y tenemos sed, y estamos desnudos, y somos abofeteados y no tenemos dónde vivir;

12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

12 y nos fatigamos, trabajando con nuestras propias manos; nos maldicen, y bendecimos; padecemos persecución, y la sufrimos.

13 Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

13 Somos difamados, y respondemos con bondad; hemos venido a ser hasta ahora como la escoria del mundo, el desecho de todos.

14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.

14 No escribo esto para avergonzaros, sino para amonestaros como a mis hijos amados.

15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

15 Porque aunque tengáis diez mil ayos en Cristo, no tendréis muchos padres, porque en Cristo Jesús yo os engendré por medio del evangelio.

16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

16 Por tanto, os ruego que me imitéis.

17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

17 Por lo cual os he enviado a Timoteo, que es mi hijo amado y fiel en el Señor, el que os recordará mis caminos en Cristo, de la manera que enseño en todas partes y en todas las iglesias.

18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

18 Mas algunos están envanecidos, como si yo nunca hubiese de ir a vosotros.

19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

19 Pero iré pronto a vosotros, si el Señor quiere, y conoceré, no las palabras de los que andan envanecidos, sino el poder.

20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

20 Porque el reino de Dios no consiste en palabras, sino en poder.

21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

21 ¿Qué queréis? ¿Iré a vosotros con vara, o con amor y espíritu de mansedumbre?
