1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

1 Si yo hablase lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo caridad, vengo a ser como metal que resuena o címbalo que retiñe.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

2 Y si tuviese profecía, y entendiese todos los misterios y todo conocimiento, y si tuviese toda la fe, de tal manera que trasladase los montes, y no tengo caridad, nada soy.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

3 Y si repartiese todos mis bienes para dar de comer a los pobres, y si entregase mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo caridad, de nada me sirve.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

4 La caridad es sufrida, es benigna; la caridad no tiene envidia, la caridad no se jacta, no se envanece;

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

5 no se comporta indebidamente, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no piensa el mal;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

6 no se regocija en la maldad, sino que se regocija en la verdad;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

7 todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

8 La caridad nunca deja de ser; mas las profecías se acabarán, y cesarán las lenguas, y el conocimiento se acabará;

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

9 porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

10 mas cuando venga lo que es perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

11 Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, juzgaba como niño; mas cuando ya fui hombre, dejé lo que era de niño.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

12 Ahora vemos por espejo, oscuramente; mas entonces veremos cara a cara. Ahora conozco en parte; pero entonces conoceré como fui conocido.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

13 Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y la caridad, estas tres; pero la mayor de ellas es la caridad.
