1 A revelation of Jesus Christ unto his servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and six elders, as they united their hearts and lifted their voices on high.

1 Una revelación de Jesucristo a su siervo José Smith, hijo, y a seis élderes, cuando unieron sus corazones y elevaron sus voces al cielo.

2 Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem.

2 Sí, la palabra del Señor concerniente a su iglesia, establecida en los últimos días para la restauración de su pueblo, como lo ha declarado por boca de sus profetas, así como para el recogimiento de sus santos sobre el monte de Sion, el cual será la ciudad de la Nueva Jerusalén,

3 Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.

3 ciudad que será edificada, empezando desde el terreno del templo, señalado por el dedo del Señor, en las fronteras occidentales del estado de Misuri, y el cual se consagró por mano de José Smith, hijo, y otros con quienes el Señor estaba bien complacido.

4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.

4 De cierto, esta es la palabra del Señor, que la ciudad de la Nueva Jerusalén sea edificada mediante el recogimiento de los santos, comenzando en este lugar, sí, el sitio para el templo que se edificará en esta generación.

5 For verily this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of the Lord, which shall fill the house.

5 Porque en verdad, no pasará toda esta generación sin que se le edifique una casa al Señor, y una nube descansará sobre ella, que será la gloria del Señor que llenará la casa.

6 And the sons of Moses, according to the Holy Priesthood which he received under the hand of his father-in-law, Jethro;

6 Y los hijos de Moisés, de acuerdo con el Santo Sacerdocio que Moisés recibió de manos de su suegro Jetro;

7 And Jethro received it under the hand of Caleb;

7 y Jetro lo recibió de manos de Caleb;

8 And Caleb received it under the hand of Elihu;

8 y Caleb de manos de Eliú;

9 And Elihu under the hand of Jeremy;

9 y Eliú de manos de Jeremías;

10 And Jeremy under the hand of Gad;

10 y Jeremías de manos de Gad;

11 And Gad under the hand of Esaias;

11 y Gad de manos de Esaías;

12 And Esaias received it under the hand of God.

13 Esaias also lived in the days of Abraham, and was blessed of him—

13 Esaías también vivió en los días de Abraham, y por él fue bendecido.

14 Which Abraham received the priesthood from Melchizedek, who received it through the lineage of his fathers, even till Noah;

14 Y Abraham recibió el sacerdocio de manos de Melquisedec, que a su vez lo recibió por medio del linaje de sus padres, hasta Noé,

15 And from Noah till Enoch, through the lineage of their fathers;

15 y de Noé hasta Enoc, por medio del linaje de sus padres;

16 And from Enoch to Abel, who was slain by the conspiracy of his brother, who received the priesthood by the commandments of God, by the hand of his father Adam, who was the first man—

16 y de Enoc a Abel, que fue muerto por la conspiración de su hermano, y quien, por mandato de Dios, recibió el sacerdocio de manos de su padre Adán, el primer hombre;

17 Which priesthood continueth in the church of God in all generations, and is without beginning of days or end of years.

17 y este sacerdocio continúa en la iglesia de Dios en todas las generaciones, y es sin principio de días ni fin de años.

18 And the Lord confirmed a priesthood also upon Aaron and his seed, throughout all their generations, which priesthood also continueth and abideth forever with the priesthood which is after the holiest order of God.

18 Y el Señor también confirmó un sacerdocio sobre Aarón y su descendencia, por todas sus generaciones; y este sacerdocio también continúa y permanece para siempre con el sacerdocio que es según el orden más santo de Dios.

19 And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God.

19 Y este sacerdocio mayor administra el evangelio y posee la llave de los misterios del reino, sí, la llave del conocimiento de Dios.

20 Therefore, in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest.

20 Así que, en sus ordenanzas se manifiesta el poder de la divinidad.

21 And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh;

21 Y sin sus ordenanzas y la autoridad del sacerdocio, el poder de la divinidad no se manifiesta a los hombres en la carne;

22 For without this no man can see the face of God, even the Father, and live.

22 porque sin esto, ningún hombre puede ver la faz de Dios, sí, el Padre, y vivir.

23 Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God;

23 Moisés claramente enseñó esto a los hijos de Israel en el desierto, y procuró diligentemente santificar a los de su pueblo, a fin de que vieran la faz de Dios;

24 But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his anger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory.

24 mas endurecieron sus corazones y no pudieron aguantar su presencia; por tanto, el Señor en su ira, porque su ira se había encendido en contra de ellos, juró que mientras estuviesen en el desierto no entrarían en su reposo, el cual es la plenitud de su gloria.

25 Therefore, he took Moses out of their midst, and the Holy Priesthood also;

25 Por consiguiente, tomó a Moisés de entre ellos, y el Santo Sacerdocio también;

26 And the lesser priesthood continued, which priesthood holdeth the key of the ministering of angels and the preparatory gospel;

26 y continuó el sacerdocio menor, que tiene la llave del ministerio de ángeles y el evangelio preparatorio,

27 Which gospel is the gospel of repentance and of baptism, and the remission of sins, and the law of carnal commandments, which the Lord in his wrath caused to continue with the house of Aaron among the children of Israel until John, whom God raised up, being filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother's womb.

27 el cual es el evangelio de arrepentimiento y de bautismo, y la remisión de pecados, y la ley de los mandamientos carnales, que el Señor en su ira hizo que continuara en la casa de Aarón entre los hijos de Israel hasta Juan, a quien Dios levantó, pues fue lleno del Espíritu Santo desde el vientre de su madre.

28 For he was baptized while he was yet in his childhood, and was ordained by the angel of God at the time he was eight days old unto this power, to overthrow the kingdom of the Jews, and to make straight the way of the Lord before the face of his people, to prepare them for the coming of the Lord, in whose hand is given all power.

28 Porque se bautizó mientras estaba aún en su niñez, y cuando tenía ocho días de edad, el ángel de Dios lo ordenó para este poder, con el objeto de derribar el reino de los judíos y enderezar las sendas del Señor ante la faz de su pueblo, a fin de prepararlo para la venida del Señor, en cuya mano se halla todo poder.

29 And again, the offices of elder and bishop are necessary appendages belonging unto the high priesthood.

29 Y además, los oficios de élder y obispo son dependencias necesarias que corresponden al sacerdocio mayor.

30 And again, the offices of teacher and deacon are necessary appendages belonging to the lesser priesthood, which priesthood was confirmed upon Aaron and his sons.

30 Y además, los oficios de maestro y diácono son dependencias necesarias que pertenecen al sacerdocio menor, sacerdocio que se confirmó sobre Aarón y sus hijos.

31 Therefore, as I said concerning the sons of Moses—for the sons of Moses and also the sons of Aaron shall offer an acceptable offering and sacrifice in the house of the Lord, which house shall be built unto the Lord in this generation, upon the consecrated spot as I have appointed—

31 De manera que, como dije concerniente a los hijos de Moisés—porque los hijos de Moisés y también los hijos de Aarón ofrecerán una ofrenda y un sacrificio aceptables en la casa del Señor, la cual se le edificará en esta generación, en el lugar consagrado como he indicado—

32 And the sons of Moses and of Aaron shall be filled with the glory of the Lord, upon Mount Zion in the Lord's house, whose sons are ye; and also many whom I have called and sent forth to build up my church.

32 y los hijos de Moisés y de Aarón, cuyos hijos sois vosotros, serán llenos de la gloria del Señor sobre el monte de Sion en la casa del Señor; y también muchos que he llamado y enviado para edificar mi iglesia.

33 For whoso is faithful unto the obtaining these two priesthoods of which I have spoken, and the magnifying their calling, are sanctified by the Spirit unto the renewing of their bodies.

33 Porque quienes son fieles hasta obtener estos dos sacerdocios de los cuales he hablado, y magnifican su llamamiento, son santificados por el Espíritu para la renovación de sus cuerpos.

34 They become the sons of Moses and of Aaron and the seed of Abraham, and the church and kingdom, and the elect of God.

34 Llegan a ser los hijos de Moisés y de Aarón, y la descendencia de Abraham, y la iglesia y reino, y los elegidos de Dios.

35 And also all they who receive this priesthood receive me, saith the Lord;

35 Y también todos los que reciben este sacerdocio, a mí me reciben, dice el Señor;

36 For he that receiveth my servants receiveth me;

36 porque el que recibe a mis siervos, me recibe a mí;

37 And he that receiveth me receiveth my Father;

37 y el que me recibe a mí, recibe a mi Padre;

38 And he that receiveth my Father receiveth my Father's kingdom; therefore all that my Father hath shall be given unto him.

38 y el que recibe a mi Padre, recibe el reino de mi Padre; por tanto, todo lo que mi Padre tiene le será dado.

39 And this is according to the oath and covenant which belongeth to the priesthood.

39 Y esto va de acuerdo con el juramento y el convenio que corresponden a este sacerdocio.

40 Therefore, all those who receive the priesthood, receive this oath and covenant of my Father, which he cannot break, neither can it be moved.

40 Así que, todos los que reciben el sacerdocio reciben este juramento y convenio de mi Padre, que él no puede quebrantar, ni tampoco puede ser traspasado.

41 But whoso breaketh this covenant after he hath received it, and altogether turneth therefrom, shall not have forgiveness of sins in this world nor in the world to come.

41 Pero el que violare este convenio, después de haberlo recibido, y lo abandonare totalmente, no recibirá perdón de los pecados en este mundo ni en el venidero.

42 And wo unto all those who come not unto this priesthood which ye have received, which I now confirm upon you who are present this day, by mine own voice out of the heavens; and even I have given the heavenly hosts and mine angels charge concerning you.

42 Y, ¡ay! de todos aquellos que no obtengan este sacerdocio que habéis recibido, el cual ahora confirmo por mi propia voz desde los cielos sobre vosotros que estáis presentes este día; y aun os he encomendado a las huestes celestiales y a mis ángeles.

43 And I now give unto you a commandment to beware concerning yourselves, to give diligent heed to the words of eternal life.

43 Y ahora os doy el mandamiento de tener cuidado, en cuanto a vosotros mismos, de estar diligentemente atentos a las palabras de vida eterna.

44 For you shall live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God.

44 Porque viviréis de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.

45 For the word of the Lord is truth, and whatsoever is truth is light, and whatsoever is light is Spirit, even the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

45 Porque la palabra del Señor es verdad, y lo que es verdad es luz, y lo que es luz es Espíritu, a saber, el Espíritu de Jesucristo.

46 And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.

46 Y el Espíritu da luz a todo hombre que viene al mundo; y el Espíritu ilumina a todo hombre en el mundo que escucha la voz del Espíritu.

47 And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father.

47 Y todo aquel que escucha la voz del Espíritu, viene a Dios, sí, el Padre.

48 And the Father teacheth him of the covenant which he has renewed and confirmed upon you, which is confirmed upon you for your sakes, and not for your sakes only, but for the sake of the whole world.

48 Y el Padre le enseña concerniente al convenio que él ha renovado y confirmado sobre vosotros, el cual os es confirmado por vuestro bien; y no solo por el bien de vosotros, sino del mundo entero.

49 And the whole world lieth in sin, and groaneth under darkness and under the bondage of sin.

49 Y todo el mundo yace en el pecado, y gime bajo la obscuridad y la servidumbre del pecado.

50 And by this you may know they are under the bondage of sin, because they come not unto me.

50 Y por esto sabréis que están bajo la servidumbre del pecado, porque no vienen a mí.

51 For whoso cometh not unto me is under the bondage of sin.

51 Porque quien no viene a mí está bajo la servidumbre del pecado.

52 And whoso receiveth not my voice is not acquainted with my voice, and is not of me.

52 Y el que no recibe mi voz no conoce mi voz, y no es mío.

53 And by this you may know the righteous from the wicked, and that the whole world groaneth under sin and darkness even now.

53 Y de esta manera podréis discernir a los justos de los inicuos, y saber que el mundo entero gime bajo el pecado y la obscuridad ahora mismo.

54 And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received—

54 Y en ocasiones pasadas vuestras mentes se han ofuscado a causa de la incredulidad, y por haber tratado ligeramente las cosas que habéis recibido,

55 Which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation.

55 y esta incredulidad y vanidad han traído la condenación sobre toda la iglesia.

56 And this condemnation resteth upon the children of Zion, even all.

56 Y esta condenación pesa sobre los hijos de Sion, sí, todos ellos;

57 And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them, not only to say, but to do according to that which I have written—

57 y permanecerán bajo esta condenación hasta que se arrepientan y recuerden el nuevo convenio, a saber, el Libro de Mormón y los mandamientos anteriores que les he dado, no solo de hablar, sino de obrar de acuerdo con lo que he escrito,

58 That they may bring forth fruit meet for their Father's kingdom; otherwise there remaineth a scourge and judgment to be poured out upon the children of Zion.

58 a fin de que den frutos dignos para el reino de su Padre; de lo contrario, queda por derramarse un azote y juicio sobre los hijos de Sion.

59 For shall the children of the kingdom pollute my holy land? Verily, I say unto you, Nay.

59 Porque, ¿han de contaminar los hijos del reino mi tierra santa? De cierto os digo que no.

60 Verily, verily, I say unto you who now hear my words, which are my voice, blessed are ye inasmuch as you receive these things;

60 En verdad, en verdad os digo a vosotros que ahora escucháis mis palabras, que son mi voz, benditos sois si recibís estas cosas;

61 For I will forgive you of your sins with this commandment—that you remain steadfast in your minds in solemnity and the spirit of prayer, in bearing testimony to all the world of those things which are communicated unto you.

61 porque yo os perdonaré vuestros pecados con este mandamiento: Que os conservéis firmes en vuestras mentes en solemnidad y en el espíritu de oración, en dar testimonio a todo el mundo de las cosas que os son comunicadas.

62 Therefore, go ye into all the world; and unto whatsoever place ye cannot go ye shall send, that the testimony may go from you into all the world unto every creature.

62 Id, pues, por todo el mundo; y a cualquier lugar a donde no podáis ir, enviad, para que de vosotros salga el testimonio a todo el mundo y a toda criatura.

63 And as I said unto mine apostles, even so I say unto you, for you are mine apostles, even God's high priests; ye are they whom my Father hath given me; ye are my friends;

63 Y como dije a mis apóstoles, así os digo a vosotros, porque sois mis apóstoles, sí, sumos sacerdotes de Dios: Vosotros sois los que mi Padre me ha dado; sois mis amigos;

64 Therefore, as I said unto mine apostles I say unto you again, that every soul who believeth on your words, and is baptized by water for the remission of sins, shall receive the Holy Ghost.

64 por tanto, así como dije a mis apóstoles, de nuevo os digo que toda alma que crea en vuestras palabras y se bautice en el agua para la remisión de los pecados, recibirá el Espíritu Santo.

65 And these signs shall follow them that believe—

65 Y estas señales seguirán a los que creen:

66 In my name they shall do many wonderful works;

66 En mi nombre harán muchas obras maravillosas;

67 In my name they shall cast out devils;

67 en mi nombre echarán fuera demonios;

68 In my name they shall heal the sick;

68 en mi nombre sanarán a los enfermos;

69 In my name they shall open the eyes of the blind, and unstop the ears of the deaf;

69 en mi nombre abrirán los ojos de los ciegos y destaparán los oídos de los sordos;

70 And the tongue of the dumb shall speak;

70 y la lengua del mudo hablará;

71 And if any man shall administer poison unto them it shall not hurt them;

71 y si alguien les administra veneno, no los dañará;

72 And the poison of a serpent shall not have power to harm them.

72 y la ponzoña de la serpiente no tendrá poder para hacerles daño.

73 But a commandment I give unto them, that they shall not boast themselves of these things, neither speak them before the world; for these things are given unto you for your profit and for salvation.

73 Pero un mandamiento les doy, que no se jacten de estas cosas ni hablen de ellas ante el mundo; porque os son dadas para vuestro provecho y para salvación.

74 Verily, verily, I say unto you, they who believe not on your words, and are not baptized in water in my name, for the remission of their sins, that they may receive the Holy Ghost, shall be damned, and shall not come into my Father's kingdom where my Father and I am.

74 En verdad, en verdad os digo, que aquellos que no crean en vuestras palabras, ni se bauticen en el agua en mi nombre para la remisión de sus pecados, a fin de recibir el Espíritu Santo, serán condenados y no entrarán en el reino de mi Padre, donde mi Padre y yo estamos.

75 And this revelation unto you, and commandment, is in force from this very hour upon all the world, and the gospel is unto all who have not received it.

75 Y esta revelación y mandamiento dado a vosotros está en vigor desde esta misma hora en todo el mundo; y el evangelio es para todos los que no lo han recibido.

76 But, verily I say unto all those to whom the kingdom has been given—from you it must be preached unto them, that they shall repent of their former evil works; for they are to be upbraided for their evil hearts of unbelief, and your brethren in Zion for their rebellion against you at the time I sent you.

76 Pero de cierto os digo a todos aquellos a quienes se ha dado el reino: Es preciso que de vosotros les sea predicado a ellos, para que se arrepientan de sus obras inicuas anteriores; porque merecen ser reprochados por motivo de sus corazones malos de incredulidad, así como vuestros hermanos en Sion por su rebelión contra vosotros en el tiempo en que os envié.

77 And again I say unto you, my friends, for from henceforth I shall call you friends, it is expedient that I give unto you this commandment, that ye become even as my friends in days when I was with them, traveling to preach the gospel in my power;

77 Y además, os digo, mis amigos, porque desde ahora os llamaré mis amigos, conviene que os dé este mandamiento para que lleguéis a ser como mis amigos en los días en que viajaba con ellos para predicar el evangelio con mi poder;

78 For I suffered them not to have purse or scrip, neither two coats.

78 porque no les permití llevar bolsa, ni alforja, ni tampoco dos prendas de vestir.

79 Behold, I send you out to prove the world, and the laborer is worthy of his hire.

79 He aquí, os envío para probar al mundo, y el obrero es digno de su salario.

80 And any man that shall go and preach this gospel of the kingdom, and fail not to continue faithful in all things, shall not be weary in mind, neither darkened, neither in body, limb, nor joint; and a hair of his head shall not fall to the ground unnoticed. And they shall not go hungry, neither athirst.

80 Y ningún hombre que salga y predique este evangelio del reino, sin dejar de continuar fiel en todas las cosas, sentirá fatigada o entenebrecida su mente, ni su cuerpo, miembros ni coyunturas; y ni un cabello de su cabeza caerá a tierra inadvertido. Y no padecerá hambre ni sed.

81 Therefore, take ye no thought for the morrow, for what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, or wherewithal ye shall be clothed.

81 Por tanto, no os afanéis por el día de mañana, por lo que habéis de comer o beber, ni con qué os habéis de vestir.

82 For, consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toil not, neither do they spin; and the kingdoms of the world, in all their glory, are not arrayed like one of these.

82 Pues considerad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan; y los reinos del mundo, con toda su gloria, no se visten como ninguno de ellos.

83 For your Father, who is in heaven, knoweth that you have need of all these things.

83 Porque vuestro Padre que está en los cielos sabe que tenéis necesidad de todas estas cosas.

84 Therefore, let the morrow take thought for the things of itself.

84 Así que, dejad que el día de mañana se haga cargo de su propio afán.

85 Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man.

85 Ni os preocupéis tampoco de antemano por lo que habéis de decir; mas atesorad constantemente en vuestras mentes las palabras de vida, y os será dado en la hora precisa la porción que le será medida a cada hombre.

86 Therefore, let no man among you, for this commandment is unto all the faithful who are called of God in the church unto the ministry, from this hour take purse or scrip, that goeth forth to proclaim this gospel of the kingdom.

86 De modo que ninguno de vosotros—porque este mandamiento es para todos los fieles de la iglesia que son llamados de Dios al ministerio—lleve, desde esta hora, bolsa ni alforja al salir a proclamar este evangelio del reino.

87 Behold, I send you out to reprove the world of all their unrighteous deeds, and to teach them of a judgment which is to come.

87 He aquí, os envío para reprobar al mundo por todos sus hechos inicuos, y para enseñarle acerca de un juicio que ha de venir.

88 And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.

88 Y quienes os reciban, allí estaré yo también, porque iré delante de vuestra faz. Estaré a vuestra diestra y a vuestra siniestra, y mi Espíritu estará en vuestro corazón, y mis ángeles alrededor de vosotros, para sosteneros.

89 Whoso receiveth you receiveth me; and the same will feed you, and clothe you, and give you money.

89 El que os reciba, a mí me recibe; y os alimentará y os vestirá y os dará dinero.

90 And he who feeds you, or clothes you, or gives you money, shall in nowise lose his reward.

90 Y el que os alimente, u os proporcione vestido o dinero, de ningún modo perderá su galardón.

91 And he that doeth not these things is not my disciple; by this you may know my disciples.

91 Y el que no haga estas cosas, no es mi discípulo; en esto conoceréis a mis discípulos.

92 He that receiveth you not, go away from him alone by yourselves, and cleanse your feet even with water, pure water, whether in heat or in cold, and bear testimony of it unto your Father which is in heaven, and return not again unto that man.

92 Apartaos de quien no os reciba, y estando a solas, lavaos los pies con agua, agua pura, sea en tiempo de frío o de calor, y dad testimonio de ello a vuestro Padre que está en los cielos, y no volváis más a tal hombre.

93 And in whatsoever village or city ye enter, do likewise.

93 Y haced lo mismo en cualquier aldea o ciudad en donde entréis.

94 Nevertheless, search diligently and spare not; and wo unto that house, or that village or city that rejecteth you, or your words, or your testimony concerning me.

94 Sin embargo, buscad diligentemente y no desmayéis; y, ¡ay de aquella casa, o aldea, o ciudad que os rechace a vosotros, vuestras palabras o vuestro testimonio concerniente a mí!

95 Wo, I say again, unto that house, or that village or city that rejecteth you, or your words, or your testimony of me;

95 ¡Ay, vuelvo a decir, de aquella casa, aldea o ciudad que os rechace a vosotros, o vuestras palabras, o vuestro testimonio de mí!

96 For I, the Almighty, have laid my hands upon the nations, to scourge them for their wickedness.

96 Porque yo, el Omnipotente, he puesto mis manos sobre las naciones para azotarlas por sus iniquidades.

97 And plagues shall go forth, and they shall not be taken from the earth until I have completed my work, which shall be cut short in righteousness—

97 Y se derramarán plagas, y no serán quitadas de la tierra hasta que haya cumplido mi obra, la cual se ha de acortar en justicia,

98 Until all shall know me, who remain, even from the least unto the greatest, and shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, and shall see eye to eye, and shall lift up their voice, and with the voice together sing this new song, saying:

98 hasta que me conozcan todos los que quedaren, desde el menor hasta el mayor, y sean llenos del conocimiento del Señor, y vean ojo a ojo, y alcen sus voces, y al unísono canten este nuevo cántico, diciendo:

99 The Lord hath brought again Zion; The Lord hath redeemed his people, Israel, According to the election of grace, Which was brought to pass by the faith And covenant of their fathers.

99 El Señor de nuevo ha traído a Sion; el Señor ha redimido a su pueblo, Israel, conforme a la elección de gracia, la cual se llevó a cabo por la fe y el convenio de sus padres.

100 The Lord hath redeemed his people; And Satan is bound and time is no longer. The Lord hath gathered all things in one. The Lord hath brought down Zion from above. The Lord hath brought up Zion from beneath.

100 El Señor ha redimido a su pueblo, y Satanás está atado, y el tiempo ha dejado de ser. El Señor ha reunido en una todas las cosas. El Señor ha bajado a Sion desde lo alto. Ha hecho subir a Sion desde abajo.

101 The earth hath travailed and brought forth her strength; And truth is established in her bowels; And the heavens have smiled upon her; And she is clothed with the glory of her God; For he stands in the midst of his people.

101 La tierra ha estado de parto y ha dado a luz su fuerza; y la verdad está establecida en sus entrañas; y los cielos le han sonreído; y está revestida con la gloria de su Dios, porque él está en medio de su pueblo.

102 Glory, and honor, and power, and might, Be ascribed to our God; for he is full of mercy, Justice, grace and truth, and peace, Forever and ever, Amen.

102 Gloria y honra, y poder y fortaleza, sean atribuidos a nuestro Dios; porque en él abundan la misericordia, la justicia, gracia, verdad y paz, para siempre jamás. Amén.

103 And again, verily, verily, I say unto you, it is expedient that every man who goes forth to proclaim mine everlasting gospel, that inasmuch as they have families, and receive money by gift, that they should send it unto them or make use of it for their benefit, as the Lord shall direct them, for thus it seemeth me good.

103 Y además, de cierto, de cierto os digo, conviene que todo hombre que salga a predicar mi evangelio eterno, si tiene familia y le obsequian dinero, se lo envíe o lo utilice para beneficiarla, conforme a lo que el Señor le indique, porque así me parece bien.

104 And let all those who have not families, who receive money, send it up unto the bishop in Zion, or unto the bishop in Ohio, that it may be consecrated for the bringing forth of the revelations and the printing thereof, and for establishing Zion.

104 Y todos los que no tengan familias, y reciban dinero, envíenlo al obispo de Sion, o al obispo de Ohio, a fin de que se consagre para la preparación y publicación de las revelaciones y al establecimiento de Sion.

105 And if any man shall give unto any of you a coat, or a suit, take the old and cast it unto the poor, and go on your way rejoicing.

105 Y si alguien os da un abrigo o un traje, tomad el viejo y dadlo a los pobres, e id gozosos por vuestro camino.

106 And if any man among you be strong in the Spirit, let him take with him him that is weak, that he may be edified in all meekness, that he may become strong also.

106 Y si de entre vosotros uno es fuerte en el Espíritu, lleve consigo al que es débil, a fin de que sea edificado con toda mansedumbre para que se haga fuerte también.

107 Therefore, take with you those who are ordained unto the lesser priesthood, and send them before you to make appointments, and to prepare the way, and to fill appointments that you yourselves are not able to fill.

107 Llevad, pues, con vosotros a los que son ordenados con el sacerdocio menor, y enviadlos delante de vosotros para fijar citas, preparar la vía y cumplir con los compromisos que vosotros mismos no podáis cumplir.

108 Behold, this is the way that mine apostles, in ancient days, built up my church unto me.

108 He aquí, así fue como mis apóstoles me edificaron mi iglesia en los días antiguos.

109 Therefore, let every man stand in his own office, and labor in his own calling; and let not the head say unto the feet it hath no need of the feet; for without the feet how shall the body be able to stand?

109 Por tanto, ocupe cada hombre su propio oficio, y trabaje en su propio llamamiento; y no diga la cabeza a los pies que no tiene necesidad de ellos; porque sin los pies, ¿cómo podrá sostenerse el cuerpo?

110 Also the body hath need of every member, that all may be edified together, that the system may be kept perfect.

110 También el cuerpo tiene necesidad de cada miembro, para que todos se edifiquen juntamente, para que el sistema se conserve perfecto.

111 And behold, the high priests should travel, and also the elders, and also the lesser priests; but the deacons and teachers should be appointed to watch over the church, to be standing ministers unto the church.

111 Y he aquí, los sumos sacerdotes deben viajar, y también los élderes y los presbíteros; mas los diáconos y los maestros deben ser nombrados para velar por la iglesia y para ser sus ministros residentes.

112 And the bishop, Newel K. Whitney, also should travel round about and among all the churches, searching after the poor to administer to their wants by humbling the rich and the proud.

112 Y el obispo Newel K. Whitney también debe viajar por entre todas las iglesias, buscando a los pobres para satisfacer sus necesidades, haciendo humildes a los ricos y a los orgullosos.

113 He should also employ an agent to take charge and to do his secular business as he shall direct.

113 También ha de emplear a un agente para encargarse de los asuntos seculares bajo su dirección.

114 Nevertheless, let the bishop go unto the city of New York, also to the city of Albany, and also to the city of Boston, and warn the people of those cities with the sound of the gospel, with a loud voice, of the desolation and utter abolishment which await them if they do reject these things.

114 No obstante, vaya el obispo a la ciudad de Nueva York, y a las de Albany y de Boston, y amoneste a la gente de esas ciudades, con el son del evangelio, en voz alta, de la desolación y destrucción completa que les espera si rechazan estas cosas.

115 For if they do reject these things the hour of their judgment is nigh, and their house shall be left unto them desolate.

115 Porque si rechazan estas cosas, se acerca la hora de su juicio, y su casa les será dejada desierta.

116 Let him trust in me and he shall not be confounded; and a hair of his head shall not fall to the ground unnoticed.

116 Confíe él en mí y no será confundido; y ni uno de sus cabellos caerá a tierra inadvertido.

117 And verily I say unto you, the rest of my servants, go ye forth as your circumstances shall permit, in your several callings, unto the great and notable cities and villages, reproving the world in righteousness of all their unrighteous and ungodly deeds, setting forth clearly and understandingly the desolation of abomination in the last days.

117 Y de cierto os digo a vosotros, el resto de mis siervos, salid a vuestros distintos llamamientos, según os lo permitan vuestras circunstancias, a las grandes y notables ciudades y pueblos, reprobando en justicia al mundo por todos sus hechos injustos e inmundos, exponiéndoles clara y comprensiblemente la abominación desoladora de los últimos días.

118 For, with you saith the Lord Almighty, I will rend their kingdoms; I will not only shake the earth, but the starry heavens shall tremble.

118 Porque con vosotros, dice el Señor Todopoderoso, hendiré sus reinos; no solamente sacudiré la tierra, sino que los cielos estrellados temblarán.

119 For I, the Lord, have put forth my hand to exert the powers of heaven; ye cannot see it now, yet a little while and ye shall see it, and know that I am, and that I will come and reign with my people.

119 Porque yo, el Señor, he extendido mi mano para ejercer los poderes del cielo; no lo podéis ver ahora, pero dentro de un corto plazo lo veréis, y sabréis que yo soy, y que vendré y reinaré con mi pueblo.

120 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Amen.
