1 Oliver Cowdery, verily, verily, I say unto you, that assuredly as the Lord liveth, who is your God and your Redeemer, even so surely shall you receive a knowledge of whatsoever things you shall ask in faith, with an honest heart, believing that you shall receive a knowledge concerning the engravings of old records, which are ancient, which contain those parts of my scripture of which has been spoken by the manifestation of my Spirit.

1 Oliver Cowdery, de cierto, de cierto te digo: Así como vive el Señor, que es tu Dios y tu Redentor, que ciertamente recibirás conocimiento de cuantas cosas pidieres con fe, con un corazón sincero, creyendo que recibirás conocimiento concerniente a los grabados sobre anales antiguos, que son de antaño, los cuales contienen aquellas partes de mis Escrituras de que se ha hablado por la manifestación de mi Espíritu.

2 Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.

2 Sí, he aquí, hablaré a tu mente y a tu corazón por medio del Espíritu Santo que vendrá sobre ti y morará en tu corazón.

3 Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground.

3 Ahora, he aquí, este es el espíritu de revelación; he aquí, es el espíritu mediante el cual Moisés condujo a los hijos de Israel a través del mar Rojo sobre tierra seca.

4 Therefore this is thy gift; apply unto it, and blessed art thou, for it shall deliver you out of the hands of your enemies, when, if it were not so, they would slay you and bring your soul to destruction.

4 Por tanto, este es tu don; empéñate en él y serás bendecido, porque te librará de las manos de tus enemigos, pues de no ser así, te matarían y llevarían tu alma a la destrucción.

5 Oh, remember these words, and keep my commandments. Remember, this is your gift.

5 ¡Oh, acuérdate de estas palabras y guarda mis mandamientos! Recuerda que este es tu don.

6 Now this is not all thy gift; for you have another gift, which is the gift of Aaron; behold, it has told you many things;

6 Ahora bien, este no es tu único don, porque tienes otro don, el cual es el don de Aarón; he aquí, te ha manifestado muchas cosas;

7 Behold, there is no other power, save the power of God, that can cause this gift of Aaron to be with you.

7 he aquí, no hay otro poder, sino el de Dios, que haga que este don de Aarón esté contigo.

8 Therefore, doubt not, for it is the gift of God; and you shall hold it in your hands, and do marvelous works; and no power shall be able to take it away out of your hands, for it is the work of God.

8 No dudes, pues, porque es el don de Dios; y lo tendrás en tus manos y harás obras maravillosas; y ningún poder te lo podrá arrebatar de las manos, porque es la obra de Dios.

9 And, therefore, whatsoever you shall ask me to tell you by that means, that will I grant unto you, and you shall have knowledge concerning it.

9 De modo que, cualquier cosa que me pidas que te diga por ese medio, te la concederé, y recibirás conocimiento concerniente a ella.

10 Remember that without faith you can do nothing; therefore ask in faith. Trifle not with these things; do not ask for that which you ought not.

10 Recuerda que sin fe no puedes hacer nada; por tanto, pide con fe. No juegues con estas cosas; no pidas lo que no debes.

11 Ask that you may know the mysteries of God, and that you may translate and receive knowledge from all those ancient records which have been hid up, that are sacred; and according to your faith shall it be done unto you.

11 Pide que se te conceda conocer los misterios de Dios y que puedas traducir y recibir conocimiento de todos esos antiguos anales que han sido escondidos, que son sagrados; y según tu fe te será hecho.

12 Behold, it is I that have spoken it; and I am the same that spake unto you from the beginning. Amen.

12 He aquí, soy yo quien lo he hablado; y soy el mismo que te hablé desde el principio. Amén.
