1 Hearken, O ye people of my church; for verily I say unto you that these things were spoken unto you for your profit and learning.

1 Escuchad, oh pueblo de mi iglesia, porque en verdad os digo que estas cosas os fueron declaradas para vuestro provecho e instrucción.

2 But notwithstanding those things which are written, it always has been given to the elders of my church from the beginning, and ever shall be, to conduct all meetings as they are directed and guided by the Holy Spirit.

2 Pero a pesar de las cosas que están escritas, siempre se ha concedido a los élderes de mi iglesia desde el principio, y siempre será así, dirigir todas las reuniones conforme los oriente y los guíe el Santo Espíritu.

3 Nevertheless ye are commanded never to cast any one out from your public meetings, which are held before the world.

3 Sin embargo, se os manda nunca desechar a nadie de vuestros servicios públicos, los que se verifican ante el mundo.

4 Ye are also commanded not to cast any one who belongeth to the church out of your sacrament meetings; nevertheless, if any have trespassed, let him not partake until he makes reconciliation.

4 También se os manda no desechar de vuestras reuniones sacramentales a ninguno que pertenezca a la iglesia; sin embargo, si alguien ha transgredido, no le permitáis participar sino hasta que se haya reconciliado.

5 And again I say unto you, ye shall not cast any out of your sacrament meetings who are earnestly seeking the kingdom—I speak this concerning those who are not of the church.

5 Y además, os digo que no desecharéis de vuestros servicios sacramentales a nadie que sinceramente esté buscando el reino; esto lo digo con respecto a los que no pertenecen a la iglesia.

6 And again I say unto you, concerning your confirmation meetings, that if there be any that are not of the church, that are earnestly seeking after the kingdom, ye shall not cast them out.

6 Y además os digo, concerniente a vuestras reuniones de confirmación, que si hubiere algunos que no fueren de la iglesia, que sinceramente estén buscando el reino, no los desecharéis.

7 But ye are commanded in all things to ask of God, who giveth liberally; and that which the Spirit testifies unto you even so I would that ye should do in all holiness of heart, walking uprightly before me, considering the end of your salvation, doing all things with prayer and thanksgiving, that ye may not be seduced by evil spirits, or doctrines of devils, or the commandments of men; for some are of men, and others of devils.

7 Mas en todo se os manda pedir a Dios, el cual da liberalmente; y lo que el Espíritu os testifique, eso quisiera yo que hicieseis con toda santidad de corazón, andando rectamente ante mí, considerando el fin de vuestra salvación, haciendo todas las cosas con oración y acción de gracias, para que no seáis seducidos por espíritus malos, ni por doctrinas de demonios, ni por los mandamientos de los hombres; porque unos son de los hombres y otros de los demonios.

8 Wherefore, beware lest ye are deceived; and that ye may not be deceived seek ye earnestly the best gifts, always remembering for what they are given;

8 Por tanto, cuidaos a fin de que no os engañen; y para que no seáis engañados, buscad diligentemente los mejores dones, recordando siempre para qué son dados;

9 For verily I say unto you, they are given for the benefit of those who love me and keep all my commandments, and him that seeketh so to do; that all may be benefited that seek or that ask of me, that ask and not for a sign that they may consume it upon their lusts.

9 porque de cierto os digo, que se dan para el beneficio de los que me aman y guardan todos mis mandamientos, y de los que procuran hacerlo; para que se beneficien todos los que me buscan o me piden, y que no piden señales para satisfacer sus concupiscencias.

10 And again, verily I say unto you, I would that ye should always remember, and always retain in your minds what those gifts are, that are given unto the church.

10 Y además, de cierto os digo, quisiera que siempre recordaseis y retuvieseis en vuestras mentes cuáles son esos dones que se dan a la iglesia.

11 For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God.

11 Porque no a todos se da cada uno de los dones; pues hay muchos dones, y a todo hombre le es dado un don por el Espíritu de Dios.

12 To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby.

12 A algunos les es dado uno y a otros otro, para que así todos se beneficien.

13 To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world.

13 A algunos el Espíritu Santo da a saber que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios, y que fue crucificado por los pecados del mundo;

14 To others it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful.

14 a otros les es dado creer en las palabras de aquellos, para que también tengan vida eterna, si continúan fieles.

15 And again, to some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know the differences of administration, as it will be pleasing unto the same Lord, according as the Lord will, suiting his mercies according to the conditions of the children of men.

15 Y además, el Espíritu Santo hace saber a algunos las diferencias de administración, conforme a lo que fuere agradable al mismo Señor, según su voluntad, acomodando sus misericordias a las condiciones de los hijos de los hombres.

16 And again, it is given by the Holy Ghost to some to know the diversities of operations, whether they be of God, that the manifestations of the Spirit may be given to every man to profit withal.

16 Y además, a algunos les es dado por el Espíritu Santo discernir las diversidades de operaciones, si es que son de Dios, para que las manifestaciones del Espíritu sean dadas a todo hombre para su provecho.

17 And again, verily I say unto you, to some is given, by the Spirit of God, the word of wisdom.

17 Y además, de cierto os digo, que a algunos les es dada, por el Espíritu de Dios, la palabra de sabiduría;

18 To another is given the word of knowledge, that all may be taught to be wise and to have knowledge.

18 a otros, la palabra de conocimiento, para que se instruya a todos a ser sabios y a tener conocimiento.

19 And again, to some it is given to have faith to be healed;

19 Y además, a unos les es dado tener fe para ser sanados;

20 And to others it is given to have faith to heal.

20 y a otros, fe para sanar.

21 And again, to some is given the working of miracles;

21 Y además, a algunos les es dado obrar milagros;

22 And to others it is given to prophesy;

22 y a otros, profetizar;

23 And to others the discerning of spirits.

23 y a otros, discernir espíritus.

24 And again, it is given to some to speak with tongues;

24 Y además, a algunos les es dado hablar en lenguas;

25 And to another is given the interpretation of tongues.

25 y a otros, la interpretación de lenguas;

26 And all these gifts come from God, for the benefit of the children of God.

26 y todos estos dones vienen de Dios, para el beneficio de los hijos de Dios.

27 And unto the bishop of the church, and unto such as God shall appoint and ordain to watch over the church and to be elders unto the church, are to have it given unto them to discern all those gifts lest there shall be any among you professing and yet be not of God.

27 Y al obispo de la iglesia, y a cuantos Dios nombrare y ordenare para velar por la iglesia y ser sus élderes, les será concedido discernir todos esos dones, no sea que haya entre vosotros alguno que profesare tenerlos y, sin embargo, no sea de Dios.

28 And it shall come to pass that he that asketh in Spirit shall receive in Spirit;

28 Y acontecerá que el que pidiere en el Espíritu, recibirá en el Espíritu;

29 That unto some it may be given to have all those gifts, that there may be a head, in order that every member may be profited thereby.

29 para que a algunos les sea concedido tener todos estos dones, para que haya una cabeza, a fin de que todo miembro se beneficie con ello.

30 He that asketh in the Spirit asketh according to the will of God; wherefore it is done even as he asketh.

30 El que pide en el Espíritu, pide según la voluntad de Dios; por tanto, es hecho conforme a lo que pide.

31 And again, I say unto you, all things must be done in the name of Christ, whatsoever you do in the Spirit;

31 Y además, os digo que todas las cosas deben hacerse en el nombre de Cristo, cualquier cosa que hagáis en el Espíritu;

32 And ye must give thanks unto God in the Spirit for whatsoever blessing ye are blessed with.

32 y habéis de dar gracias a Dios en el Espíritu por cualquier bendición con que seáis bendecidos.

33 And ye must practice virtue and holiness before me continually. Even so. Amen.

33 Y debéis practicar la virtud y la santidad delante de mí constantemente. Así sea. Amén.
