1 Hearken, O ye people of my church, to whom the kingdom has been given; hearken ye and give ear to him who laid the foundation of the earth, who made the heavens and all the hosts thereof, and by whom all things were made which live, and move, and have a being.

1 Escuchad, oh pueblo de mi iglesia, vosotros a quienes el reino ha sido dado; escuchad y dad oído al que puso los fundamentos de la tierra, que hizo los cielos y todas sus huestes, y por quien fueron hechas todas las cosas que viven, se mueven y tienen su ser.

2 And again I say, hearken unto my voice, lest death shall overtake you; in an hour when ye think not the summer shall be past, and the harvest ended, and your souls not saved.

2 Y de nuevo os digo, escuchad mi voz, no sea que la muerte os sobrevenga; a la hora en que menos lo penséis, el verano habrá pasado, y la siega habrá terminado, y vuestras almas estarán sin salvar.

3 Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him—

3 Escuchad al que es vuestro intercesor con el Padre, que aboga por vuestra causa ante él,

4 Saying: Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sin, in whom thou wast well pleased; behold the blood of thy Son which was shed, the blood of him whom thou gavest that thyself might be glorified;

4 diciendo: Padre, ve los padecimientos y la muerte de aquel que no pecó, en quien te complaciste; ve la sangre de tu Hijo que fue derramada, la sangre de aquel que diste para que tú mismo fueses glorificado;

5 Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life.

5 por tanto, Padre, perdona a estos mis hermanos que creen en mi nombre, para que vengan a mí y tengan vida sempiterna.

6 Hearken, O ye people of my church, and ye elders listen together, and hear my voice while it is called today, and harden not your hearts;

6 Escuchad, oh pueblo de mi iglesia, y vosotros los élderes escuchad juntamente, y oíd mi voz mientras dure el tiempo llamado hoy, y no endurezcáis vuestros corazones.

7 For verily I say unto you that I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the light and the life of the world—a light that shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not.

7 Porque, de cierto os digo, que soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin, la luz y la vida del mundo, una luz que resplandece en las tinieblas y las tinieblas no la comprenden.

8 I came unto mine own, and mine own received me not; but unto as many as received me gave I power to do many miracles, and to become the sons of God; and even unto them that believed on my name gave I power to obtain eternal life.

8 Vine a los míos, y los míos no me recibieron; mas a cuantos me recibieron les di el poder de hacer muchos milagros y de llegar a ser los hijos de Dios; y a los que creyeron en mi nombre les di poder para obtener la vida eterna.

9 And even so I have sent mine everlasting covenant into the world, to be a light to the world, and to be a standard for my people, and for the Gentiles to seek to it, and to be a messenger before my face to prepare the way before me.

9 Y así he enviado al mundo mi convenio sempiterno, a fin de que sea una luz al mundo y un estandarte a mi pueblo, y para que lo busquen los gentiles, y sea un mensajero delante de mi faz, preparando el camino delante de mí.

10 Wherefore, come ye unto it, and with him that cometh I will reason as with men in days of old, and I will show unto you my strong reasoning.

10 Por tanto, venid a él, y razonaré con el que viniere, como con los hombres en los días antiguos, y os enseñaré mi potente razonamiento.

11 Wherefore, hearken ye together and let me show unto you even my wisdom—the wisdom of him whom ye say is the God of Enoch, and his brethren,

11 Por tanto, escuchad unánimes y dejad que os muestre mi sabiduría, la sabiduría de aquel que decís es el Dios de Enoc y de sus hermanos,

12 Who were separated from the earth, and were received unto myself—a city reserved until a day of righteousness shall come—a day which was sought for by all holy men, and they found it not because of wickedness and abominations;

12 que fueron separados de la tierra y a quienes recibí: una ciudad reservada hasta que venga un día de rectitud, un día anhelado por todos los hombres santos, y no lo hallaron a causa de la maldad y las abominaciones;

13 And confessed they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth;

13 y confesaron que eran extranjeros y peregrinos en la tierra;

14 But obtained a promise that they should find it and see it in their flesh.

14 mas recibieron la promesa de que lo hallarían y lo verían en la carne.

15 Wherefore, hearken and I will reason with you, and I will speak unto you and prophesy, as unto men in days of old.

15 Por tanto, escuchad y razonaré con vosotros, y os hablaré y profetizaré, como con los hombres en días antiguos.

16 And I will show it plainly as I showed it unto my disciples as I stood before them in the flesh, and spake unto them, saying: As ye have asked of me concerning the signs of my coming, in the day when I shall come in my glory in the clouds of heaven, to fulfil the promises that I have made unto your fathers,

16 Y lo manifestaré claramente, como lo manifesté a mis discípulos cuando estuve ante ellos en la carne, y les hablé diciendo: Por cuanto me habéis preguntado acerca de las señales de mi venida, en el día en que venga en mi gloria en las nubes del cielo para cumplir las promesas que yo hice a vuestros padres,

17 For as ye have looked upon the long absence of your spirits from your bodies to be a bondage, I will show unto you how the day of redemption shall come, and also the restoration of the scattered Israel.

17 pues ya que habéis considerado como un cautiverio la larga ausencia de vuestro espíritu fuera del cuerpo, yo os enseñaré cómo vendrá el día de la redención y también la restauración del Israel disperso.

18 And now ye behold this temple which is in Jerusalem, which ye call the house of God, and your enemies say that this house shall never fall.

18 Y ahora veis este templo que se halla en Jerusalén, al cual llamáis la casa de Dios, y vuestros enemigos dicen que esta casa jamás caerá.

19 But, verily I say unto you, that desolation shall come upon this generation as a thief in the night, and this people shall be destroyed and scattered among all nations.

19 Mas en verdad os digo, que la desolación vendrá sobre esta generación como ladrón en la noche, y este pueblo será destruido y dispersado entre todas las naciones.

20 And this temple which ye now see shall be thrown down that there shall not be left one stone upon another.

20 Y este templo que ahora veis será derribado, de manera que no quedará una piedra sobre otra.

21 And it shall come to pass, that this generation of Jews shall not pass away until every desolation which I have told you concerning them shall come to pass.

21 Y acontecerá que esta generación de judíos no pasará sin que se verifique toda la desolación que os he dicho acerca de ellos.

22 Ye say that ye know that the end of the world cometh; ye say also that ye know that the heavens and the earth shall pass away;

22 Decís que sabéis que el fin del mundo viene; decís también que sabéis que los cielos y la tierra pasarán;

23 And in this ye say truly, for so it is; but these things which I have told you shall not pass away until all shall be fulfilled.

23 y en esto decís verdad, porque así es; mas estas cosas que yo os he dicho no pasarán sino hasta que todo se cumpla.

24 And this I have told you concerning Jerusalem; and when that day shall come, shall a remnant be scattered among all nations;

24 Y esto os he dicho acerca de Jerusalén; y cuando venga ese día, será esparcido un resto entre todas las naciones;

25 But they shall be gathered again; but they shall remain until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

25 mas serán recogidos de nuevo; pero quedarán hasta después del cumplimiento de los tiempos de los gentiles.

26 And in that day shall be heard of wars and rumors of wars, and the whole earth shall be in commotion, and men's hearts shall fail them, and they shall say that Christ delayeth his coming until the end of the earth.

26 Y en ese día se oirá de guerras y rumores de guerras, y toda la tierra estará en conmoción, y desmayará el corazón de los hombres y dirán que Cristo demora su venida hasta el fin de la tierra.

27 And the love of men shall wax cold, and iniquity shall abound.

27 Y el amor de los hombres se enfriará, y abundará la iniquidad.

28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel;

28 Y cuando llegue el tiempo de los gentiles, resplandecerá una luz entre los que se asientan en tinieblas, y será la plenitud de mi evangelio;

29 But they receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.

29 mas no lo reciben, porque no perciben la luz, y apartan de mí su corazón a causa de los preceptos de los hombres.

30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

30 Y en esa generación serán cumplidos los tiempos de los gentiles.

31 And there shall be men standing in that generation, that shall not pass until they shall see an overflowing scourge; for a desolating sickness shall cover the land.

31 Y vivirán hombres en esa generación que no morirán hasta que vean una plaga arrasadora, porque una enfermedad desoladora cubrirá la tierra.

32 But my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved; but among the wicked, men shall lift up their voices and curse God and die.

32 Pero mis discípulos estarán en lugares santos y no serán movidos; pero entre los inicuos, los hombres alzarán sus voces y maldecirán a Dios, y morirán.

33 And there shall be earthquakes also in divers places, and many desolations; yet men will harden their hearts against me, and they will take up the sword, one against another, and they will kill one another.

33 Y también habrá terremotos en diversos lugares, y muchas devastaciones; sin embargo, los hombres endurecerán su corazón contra mí y levantarán la espada el uno contra el otro, y unos a otros se matarán.

34 And now, when I the Lord had spoken these words unto my disciples, they were troubled.

34 Y cuando yo el Señor hube hablado estas palabras a mis discípulos, se turbaron.

35 And I said unto them: Be not troubled, for, when all these things shall come to pass, ye may know that the promises which have been made unto you shall be fulfilled.

35 Y les dije: No os turbéis, porque cuando todas estas cosas acontezcan, sabréis que se cumplirán las promesas que os han sido hechas.

36 And when the light shall begin to break forth, it shall be with them like unto a parable which I will show you—

36 Y cuando la luz empiece a manifestarse, les será semejante a una parábola que os enseñaré:

37 Ye look and behold the fig trees, and ye see them with your eyes, and ye say when they begin to shoot forth, and their leaves are yet tender, that summer is now nigh at hand;

37 Miráis y observáis la higuera, y la veis con vuestros ojos; y cuando empieza a retoñar y sus hojas todavía están tiernas, decís que el verano ya está próximo;

38 Even so it shall be in that day when they shall see all these things, then shall they know that the hour is nigh.

38 así será en aquel día cuando vean todas estas cosas, entonces sabrán que la hora está cerca.

39 And it shall come to pass that he that feareth me shall be looking forth for the great day of the Lord to come, even for the signs of the coming of the Son of Man.

39 Y acontecerá que el que me teme estará esperando que llegue el gran día del Señor, sí, las señales de la venida del Hijo del Hombre.

40 And they shall see signs and wonders, for they shall be shown forth in the heavens above, and in the earth beneath.

40 Y verán señales y maravillas, porque se manifestarán arriba en los cielos y abajo en la tierra.

41 And they shall behold blood, and fire, and vapors of smoke.

41 Y verán sangre y fuego y vapores de humo.

42 And before the day of the Lord shall come, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon be turned into blood, and the stars fall from heaven.

42 Y antes que venga el día del Señor, el sol se obscurecerá, y la luna se tornará en sangre, y las estrellas caerán del cielo.

43 And the remnant shall be gathered unto this place;

43 Y el resto será congregado en este lugar;

44 And then they shall look for me, and, behold, I will come; and they shall see me in the clouds of heaven, clothed with power and great glory; with all the holy angels; and he that watches not for me shall be cut off.

44 y entonces me buscarán, y he aquí, vendré; y me verán en las nubes del cielo, revestido de poder y gran gloria, con todos los santos ángeles; y el que no me esté esperando será desarraigado.

45 But before the arm of the Lord shall fall, an angel shall sound his trump, and the saints that have slept shall come forth to meet me in the cloud.

45 Pero antes que caiga el brazo del Señor, un ángel tocará su trompeta, y los santos que hayan dormido saldrán para recibirme en la nube.

46 Wherefore, if ye have slept in peace blessed are you; for as you now behold me and know that I am, even so shall ye come unto me and your souls shall live, and your redemption shall be perfected; and the saints shall come forth from the four quarters of the earth.

46 Por tanto, si habéis dormido en paz, benditos sois, porque como ahora me veis y sabéis que yo soy, así vendréis a mí y vivirán vuestras almas, y vuestra redención será perfeccionada; y los santos saldrán de los cuatro extremos de la tierra.

47 Then shall the arm of the Lord fall upon the nations.

47 Entonces el brazo del Señor caerá sobre las naciones.

48 And then shall the Lord set his foot upon this mount, and it shall cleave in twain, and the earth shall tremble, and reel to and fro, and the heavens also shall shake.

48 Y entonces el Señor pondrá su pie sobre este monte, y se partirá por en medio, y temblará la tierra y se tambaleará, y también se estremecerán los cielos.

49 And the Lord shall utter his voice, and all the ends of the earth shall hear it; and the nations of the earth shall mourn, and they that have laughed shall see their folly.

49 Y el Señor emitirá su voz, y todos los confines de la tierra la oirán; y las naciones de la tierra se lamentarán, y los que hayan reído descubrirán su insensatez.

50 And calamity shall cover the mocker, and the scorner shall be consumed; and they that have watched for iniquity shall be hewn down and cast into the fire.

50 Y la calamidad oprimirá al burlador, y el mofador será consumido; y los que se desvelan para obrar iniquidad serán talados y echados al fuego.

51 And then shall the Jews look upon me and say: What are these wounds in thine hands and in thy feet?

51 Y entonces me mirarán los judíos y dirán: ¿Qué heridas son estas en tus manos y en tus pies?

52 Then shall they know that I am the Lord; for I will say unto them: These wounds are the wounds with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. I am he who was lifted up. I am Jesus that was crucified. I am the Son of God.

52 Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor, porque les diré: Estas son las heridas con que fui herido en casa de mis amigos. Soy el que fue levantado. Soy Jesús que fue crucificado. Soy el Hijo de Dios.

53 And then shall they weep because of their iniquities; then shall they lament because they persecuted their king.

53 Y entonces llorarán a causa de sus iniquidades; y se lamentarán porque persiguieron a su rey.

54 And then shall the heathen nations be redeemed, and they that knew no law shall have part in the first resurrection; and it shall be tolerable for them.

54 Y entonces serán redimidas las naciones paganas, y los que no conocieron ninguna ley tendrán parte en la primera resurrección; y les será tolerable.

55 And Satan shall be bound, that he shall have no place in the hearts of the children of men.

55 Y Satanás será atado, para que no tenga cabida en el corazón de los hijos de los hombres.

56 And at that day, when I shall come in my glory, shall the parable be fulfilled which I spake concerning the ten virgins.

56 Y en aquel día, cuando yo venga en mi gloria, se cumplirá la parábola que hablé acerca de las diez vírgenes.

57 For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.

57 Porque aquellos que son prudentes y han recibido la verdad, y han tomado al Santo Espíritu por guía, y no han sido engañados, de cierto os digo que estos no serán talados ni echados al fuego, sino que aguantarán el día.

58 And the earth shall be given unto them for an inheritance; and they shall multiply and wax strong, and their children shall grow up without sin unto salvation.

58 Y les será dada la tierra por herencia; y se multiplicarán y se harán fuertes, y sus hijos crecerán sin pecado hasta salvarse.

59 For the Lord shall be in their midst, and his glory shall be upon them, and he will be their king and their lawgiver.

59 Porque el Señor estará en medio de ellos y su gloria estará sobre ellos, y él será su rey y su legislador.

60 And now, behold, I say unto you, it shall not be given unto you to know any further concerning this chapter, until the New Testament be translated, and in it all these things shall be made known;

60 Y ahora bien, he aquí, os digo que no os será permitido saber más concerniente a este capítulo, sino hasta que sea traducido el Nuevo Testamento, y en él se darán a conocer todas estas cosas;

61 Wherefore I give unto you that ye may now translate it, that ye may be prepared for the things to come.

61 por tanto, ahora os concedo traducirlo, a fin de que estéis preparados para las cosas que vendrán.

62 For verily I say unto you, that great things await you;

62 Porque de cierto os digo que os esperan grandes cosas;

63 Ye hear of wars in foreign lands; but, behold, I say unto you, they are nigh, even at your doors, and not many years hence ye shall hear of wars in your own lands.

63 oís de guerras en países extranjeros; mas he aquí, os digo que están cerca, aun a vuestras puertas, y dentro de pocos años oiréis de guerras en vuestras propias tierras.

64 Wherefore I, the Lord, have said, gather ye out from the eastern lands, assemble ye yourselves together ye elders of my church; go ye forth into the western countries, call upon the inhabitants to repent, and inasmuch as they do repent, build up churches unto me.

64 Por tanto, yo, el Señor, he dicho: Salid de las regiones del Este; congregaos, vosotros los élderes de mi iglesia; id a las tierras del oeste, llamad a los habitantes al arrepentimiento, y al grado que se arrepientan, establecedme iglesias.

65 And with one heart and with one mind, gather up your riches that ye may purchase an inheritance which shall hereafter be appointed unto you.

65 Y con corazones y mentes unánimes juntad vuestras riquezas para que compréis una heredad que más adelante os será designada.

66 And it shall be called the New Jerusalem, a land of peace, a city of refuge, a place of safety for the saints of the Most High God;

66 Y se llamará la Nueva Jerusalén, una tierra de paz, una ciudad de refugio, un lugar de seguridad para los santos del Más Alto Dios;

67 And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and the terror of the Lord also shall be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be called Zion.

67 y la gloria del Señor estará allí, y el terror del Señor también estará allí, de tal manera que los inicuos no llegarán a ella, y se llamará Sion.

68 And it shall come to pass among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety.

68 Y acontecerá entre los inicuos, que todo hombre que no tome la espada contra su prójimo tendrá que huir a Sion para hallar seguridad.

69 And there shall be gathered unto it out of every nation under heaven; and it shall be the only people that shall not be at war one with another.

69 Y se recogerán en ella de todas las naciones debajo del cielo; y será el único pueblo que no estará en guerra el uno contra el otro.

70 And it shall be said among the wicked: Let us not go up to battle against Zion, for the inhabitants of Zion are terrible; wherefore we cannot stand.

70 Y se dirá entre los inicuos: No subamos a combatir contra Sion, porque sus habitantes son terribles; por tanto, no podemos prevalecer.

71 And it shall come to pass that the righteous shall be gathered out from among all nations, and shall come to Zion, singing with songs of everlasting joy.

71 Y acontecerá que los justos serán recogidos de entre todas las naciones, y vendrán a Sion entonando canciones de gozo sempiterno.

72 And now I say unto you, keep these things from going abroad unto the world until it is expedient in me, that ye may accomplish this work in the eyes of the people, and in the eyes of your enemies, that they may not know your works until ye have accomplished the thing which I have commanded you;

72 Y ahora os digo: No permitáis que estas cosas vayan al mundo hasta que yo lo considere oportuno, para que cumpláis esta obra a la vista del pueblo y a los ojos de vuestros enemigos, a fin de que no se den cuenta de vuestras obras sino hasta que hayáis efectuado aquello que os he mandado;

73 That when they shall know it, that they may consider these things.

73 para que cuando lo sepan, consideren estas cosas.

74 For when the Lord shall appear he shall be terrible unto them, that fear may seize upon them, and they shall stand afar off and tremble.

74 Porque cuando el Señor aparezca, será terrible para ellos, de modo que el temor se apoderará de ellos, y se mantendrán alejados y temblarán.

75 And all nations shall be afraid because of the terror of the Lord, and the power of his might. Even so. Amen.

75 Y todas las naciones temerán a causa del terror del Señor y del poder de su fuerza. Así sea. Amén.
