1 Listen to the voice of Jesus Christ, your Lord, your God, and your Redeemer, whose word is quick and powerful.

1 Escucha la voz de Jesucristo, tu Señor, tu Dios y tu Redentor, cuya palabra es viva y poderosa.

2 For, behold, I say unto you, that it mattereth not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink when ye partake of the sacrament, if it so be that ye do it with an eye single to my glory—remembering unto the Father my body which was laid down for you, and my blood which was shed for the remission of your sins.

2 Porque he aquí, te digo que no importa lo que comáis o bebáis al tomar el sacramento, si es que lo hacéis con la mira puesta únicamente en mi gloria, recordando ante el Padre mi cuerpo que fue sacrificado por vosotros, y mi sangre que se derramó para la remisión de vuestros pecados.

3 Wherefore, a commandment I give unto you, that you shall not purchase wine neither strong drink of your enemies;

3 Por tanto, os doy el mandamiento de no comprar vino, ni bebidas alcohólicas a vuestros enemigos;

4 Wherefore, you shall partake of none except it is made new among you; yea, in this my Father's kingdom which shall be built up on the earth.

4 de modo que, no beberéis de ninguno, a menos que sea recién hecho por vosotros; sí, en este reino de mi Padre que se edificará sobre la tierra.

5 Behold, this is wisdom in me; wherefore, marvel not, for the hour cometh that I will drink of the fruit of the vine with you on the earth, and with Moroni, whom I have sent unto you to reveal the Book of Mormon, containing the fulness of my everlasting gospel, to whom I have committed the keys of the record of the stick of Ephraim;

5 He aquí, así me parece sabio; por tanto, no os maravilléis, porque la hora viene cuando beberé del fruto de la vid con vosotros en la tierra; y con Moroni, a quien he enviado para revelaros el Libro de Mormón, que contiene la plenitud de mi evangelio eterno, y a quien he encomendado las llaves de los anales del palo de Efraín;

6 And also with Elias, to whom I have committed the keys of bringing to pass the restoration of all things spoken by the mouth of all the holy prophets since the world began, concerning the last days;

6 y también con Elías, a quien he encomendado las llaves de llevar a cabo la restauración de todas las cosas concernientes a los últimos días, que se han declarado por boca de todos los santos profetas desde el principio del mundo;

7 And also John the son of Zacharias, which Zacharias he (Elias) visited and gave promise that he should have a son, and his name should be John, and he should be filled with the spirit of Elias;

7 y también con Juan hijo de Zacarías, a quien él (Elías) visitó y prometió que tendría un hijo cuyo nombre sería Juan, y que este sería lleno del espíritu de Elías;

8 Which John I have sent unto you, my servants, Joseph Smith, Jun., and Oliver Cowdery, to ordain you unto the first priesthood which you have received, that you might be called and ordained even as Aaron;

8 y os he enviado a este Juan a vosotros, mis siervos José Smith, hijo, y Oliver Cowdery, para ordenaros al primer sacerdocio que habéis recibido, a fin de que fueseis llamados y ordenados como Aarón;

9 And also Elijah, unto whom I have committed the keys of the power of turning the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers, that the whole earth may not be smitten with a curse;

9 y también con Elías el Profeta, al que he encomendado las llaves del poder de volver el corazón de los padres a los hijos, y el corazón de los hijos a los padres, para que toda la tierra no sea herida con una maldición;

10 And also with Joseph and Jacob, and Isaac, and Abraham, your fathers, by whom the promises remain;

10 y también con José, y con Jacob, Isaac y Abraham, vuestros padres, por quienes permanecen las promesas;

11 And also with Michael, or Adam, the father of all, the prince of all, the ancient of days;

11 y también con Miguel, o sea, Adán, el padre de todos, el príncipe de todos, el anciano de días;

12 And also with Peter, and James, and John, whom I have sent unto you, by whom I have ordained you and confirmed you to be apostles, and especial witnesses of my name, and bear the keys of your ministry and of the same things which I revealed unto them;

12 y también con Pedro, Santiago y Juan, a quienes os he enviado a vosotros, por medio de los cuales os he ordenado y confirmado para ser apóstoles y testigos especiales de mi nombre, y para poseer las llaves de vuestro ministerio y de las mismas cosas que les revelé a ellos;

13 Unto whom I have committed the keys of my kingdom, and a dispensation of the gospel for the last times; and for the fulness of times, in the which I will gather together in one all things, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth;

13 a quienes he encomendado las llaves de mi reino y una dispensación del evangelio para los últimos tiempos; y para el cumplimiento de los tiempos, en la cual juntaré en una todas las cosas, tanto las que están en el cielo, como las que están en la tierra;

14 And also with all those whom my Father hath given me out of the world.

14 y también con todos aquellos que mi Padre me ha dado de entre el mundo.

15 Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand.

15 Por tanto, alzad vuestros corazones y regocijaos, y ceñid vuestros lomos y tomad sobre vosotros toda mi armadura, para que podáis resistir el día malo, después de haber hecho todo, a fin de que podáis persistir.

16 Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine angels to commit unto you;

16 Seguid firmes, pues, estando ceñidos vuestros lomos con la verdad, llevando puesta la coraza de la rectitud y calzados vuestros pies con la preparación del evangelio de paz, el cual he mandado a mis ángeles que os entreguen;

17 Taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked;

17 tomando el escudo de la fe con el cual podréis apagar todos los dardos encendidos de los malvados;

18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of my Spirit, which I will pour out upon you, and my word which I reveal unto you, and be agreed as touching all things whatsoever ye ask of me, and be faithful until I come, and ye shall be caught up, that where I am ye shall be also. Amen.

18 y tomad el yelmo de la salvación, así como la espada de mi Espíritu, que derramaré sobre vosotros, y mi palabra que os revelaré; y estad de acuerdo en todo lo que me pidiereis y sed fieles hasta que yo venga, y seréis arrebatados, para que donde yo estoy vosotros también estéis. Amén.
