1 When the Savior shall appear we shall see him as he is. We shall see that he is a man like ourselves.

2 And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy.

3 John 14:23—The appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man's heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false.

4 In answer to the question—Is not the reckoning of God's time, angel's time, prophet's time, and man's time, according to the planet on which they reside?

4 Respondiendo a la pregunta: ¿No se calcula el tiempo de Dios, el de los ángeles, el de los profetas y el del hombre, de acuerdo con el planeta en que residen?

5 I answer, Yes. But there are no angels who minister to this earth but those who do belong or have belonged to it.

5 Contesto que sí. Pero no hay ángeles que ministren en esta tierra sino los que pertenecen o han pertenecido a ella.

6 The angels do not reside on a planet like this earth;

6 Los ángeles no moran en un planeta como esta tierra;

7 But they reside in the presence of God, on a globe like a sea of glass and fire, where all things for their glory are manifest, past, present, and future, and are continually before the Lord.

7 sino que viven en la presencia de Dios, en un globo semejante a un mar de vidrio y fuego, donde se manifiestan todas las cosas para su gloria, pasadas, presentes y futuras, y están continuamente delante del Señor.

8 The place where God resides is a great Urim and Thummim.

8 El lugar donde Dios reside es un gran Urim y Tumim.

9 This earth, in its sanctified and immortal state, will be made like unto crystal and will be a Urim and Thummim to the inhabitants who dwell thereon, whereby all things pertaining to an inferior kingdom, or all kingdoms of a lower order, will be manifest to those who dwell on it; and this earth will be Christ's.

9 Esta tierra, en su estado santificado e inmortal, llegará a ser semejante al cristal, y será un Urim y Tumim para los habitantes que moren en ella, mediante el cual todas las cosas pertenecientes a un reino inferior, o sea, a todos los reinos de un orden menor, serán manifestadas a los que la habiten; y esta tierra será de Cristo.

10 Then the white stone mentioned in Revelation 2:17, will become a Urim and Thummim to each individual who receives one, whereby things pertaining to a higher order of kingdoms will be made known;

10 Entonces la piedrecita blanca mencionada en el Apocalipsis, capítulo 2, versículo 17, se convertirá en un Urim y Tumim para toda persona que reciba una, y por ese medio se darán a conocer cosas pertenecientes a un orden superior de reinos;

11 And a white stone is given to each of those who come into the celestial kingdom, whereon is a new name written, which no man knoweth save he that receiveth it. The new name is the key word.

11 y a cada uno de los que entran en el reino celestial se da una piedrecita blanca, en la cual está escrito un nombre nuevo que ningún hombre conoce, sino el que lo recibe. El nombre nuevo es la palabra clave.

12 I prophesy, in the name of the Lord God, that the commencement of the difficulties which will cause much bloodshed previous to the coming of the Son of Man will be in South Carolina.

12 Yo profetizo, en el nombre del Señor Dios, que las dificultades que causarán el derramamiento de mucha sangre antes de la venida del Hijo del Hombre empezarán en Carolina del Sur.

13 It may probably arise through the slave question. This a voice declared to me, while I was praying earnestly on the subject, December 25th, 1832.

14 I was once praying very earnestly to know the time of the coming of the Son of Man, when I heard a voice repeat the following:

15 Joseph, my son, if thou livest until thou art eighty-five years old, thou shalt see the face of the Son of Man; therefore let this suffice, and trouble me no more on this matter.

15 José, hijo mío, si vives hasta tener ochenta y cinco años de edad, verás la faz del Hijo del Hombre; por tanto, sea esto suficiente para ti, y no me importunes más sobre el asunto.

16 I was left thus, without being able to decide whether this coming referred to the beginning of the millennium or to some previous appearing, or whether I should die and thus see his face.

16 Y así quedé, sin poder decidir si esta venida se refería al principio del milenio, o a alguna aparición previa, o si yo había de morir y de esa manera ver su faz.

17 I believe the coming of the Son of Man will not be any sooner than that time.

17 Creo que la venida del Hijo del Hombre no se verificará antes de ese tiempo.

18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.

18 Cualquier principio de inteligencia que logremos en esta vida se levantará con nosotros en la resurrección;

19 And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.

19 y si en esta vida una persona adquiere más conocimiento e inteligencia que otra, por medio de su diligencia y obediencia, hasta ese grado le llevará la ventaja en el mundo venidero.

20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated—

20 Hay una ley, irrevocablemente decretada en el cielo antes de la fundación de este mundo, sobre la cual todas las bendiciones se basan;

21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

21 y cuando recibimos una bendición de Dios, es porque se obedece aquella ley sobre la cual se basa.

22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.

22 El Padre tiene un cuerpo de carne y huesos, tangible como el del hombre; así también el Hijo; pero el Espíritu Santo no tiene un cuerpo de carne y huesos, sino es un personaje de Espíritu. De no ser así, el Espíritu Santo no podría morar en nosotros.

23 A man may receive the Holy Ghost, and it may descend upon him and not tarry with him.

23 El hombre puede recibir el Espíritu Santo, y este puede descender sobre él y no permanecer con él.
