1 Verily thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and also my servant Sidney Rigdon, and also my servant Hyrum Smith, and your counselors who are and shall be appointed hereafter;

1 De cierto, así te dice el Señor, a ti, mi siervo José Smith, hijo, y también a mis siervos Sidney Rigdon y Hyrum Smith, así como a tus consejeros que son, y que sean nombrados más adelante;

2 And also unto you, my servant Edward Partridge, and his counselors;

2 como también a ti, mi siervo Edward Partridge, y a tus consejeros;

3 And also unto my faithful servants who are of the high council of my church in Zion, for thus it shall be called, and unto all the elders and people of my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, scattered abroad in all the world;

3 y también a mis siervos fieles del sumo consejo de mi iglesia en Sion, porque así se llamará, y a todos los élderes y pueblo de mi Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días esparcidos por todo el mundo;

4 For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

4 porque así se llamará mi iglesia en los postreros días, a saber, La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días.

5 Verily I say unto you all: Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations;

5 De cierto os digo a todos: Levantaos y brillad, para que vuestra luz sea un estandarte a las naciones;

6 And that the gathering together upon the land of Zion, and upon her stakes, may be for a defense, and for a refuge from the storm, and from wrath when it shall be poured out without mixture upon the whole earth.

6 a fin de que el recogimiento en la tierra de Sion y sus estacas sea para defensa y para refugio contra la tempestad y contra la ira, cuando sea derramada sin mezcla sobre toda la tierra.

7 Let the city, Far West, be a holy and consecrated land unto me; and it shall be called most holy, for the ground upon which thou standest is holy.

7 Sea para mí la ciudad de Far West una tierra santa y consagrada; y se llamará santísima, porque es santa la tierra sobre la cual os halláis.

8 Therefore, I command you to build a house unto me, for the gathering together of my saints, that they may worship me.

8 Por tanto, os mando edificarme una casa para el recogimiento de mis santos, a fin de que me adoren.

9 And let there be a beginning of this work, and a foundation, and a preparatory work, this following summer;

9 Iníciese esta obra, así como los cimientos y una labor preparatoria, el verano que viene;

10 And let the beginning be made on the fourth day of July next; and from that time forth let my people labor diligently to build a house unto my name;

10 désele principio el día cuatro de julio próximo, y desde ese día en adelante trabaje mi pueblo diligentemente para construir una casa a mi nombre;

11 And in one year from this day let them re-commence laying the foundation of my house.

11 y de aquí a un año comiencen de nuevo a poner los cimientos de mi casa.

12 Thus let them from that time forth labor diligently until it shall be finished, from the cornerstone thereof unto the top thereof, until there shall not anything remain that is not finished.

12 Así trabajen con diligencia de allí en adelante hasta terminarla, desde la piedra angular hasta el techo, hasta que no quede nada incompleto.

13 Verily I say unto you, let not my servant Joseph, neither my servant Sidney, neither my servant Hyrum, get in debt any more for the building of a house unto my name;

13 De cierto os digo, no contraigan más deudas mi siervo José, ni mi siervo Sidney, ni mi siervo Hyrum, para la edificación de una casa a mi nombre;

14 But let a house be built unto my name according to the pattern which I will show unto them.

14 sino constrúyase una casa a mi nombre de acuerdo con el modelo que les mostraré.

15 And if my people build it not according to the pattern which I shall show unto their presidency, I will not accept it at their hands.

15 Y si mi pueblo no la construye conforme al modelo que yo muestre a su presidencia, no la aceptaré de sus manos.

16 But if my people do build it according to the pattern which I shall show unto their presidency, even my servant Joseph and his counselors, then I will accept it at the hands of my people.

16 Pero si mi pueblo la edifica de acuerdo con el modelo que yo muestre a su presidencia, a saber, mi siervo José y sus consejeros, entonces la aceptaré de las manos de mi pueblo;

17 And again, verily I say unto you, it is my will that the city of Far West should be built up speedily by the gathering of my saints;

17 y además, de cierto os digo, es mi voluntad que se edifique la ciudad de Far West rápidamente mediante el recogimiento de mis santos;

18 And also that other places should be appointed for stakes in the regions round about, as they shall be manifested unto my servant Joseph, from time to time.

18 y que también se designen otros lugares como estacas en las regiones inmediatas, según lo que se le indique a mi siervo José de cuando en cuando.

19 For behold, I will be with him, and I will sanctify him before the people; for unto him have I given the keys of this kingdom and ministry. Even so. Amen.

19 Pues he aquí, estaré con él y lo santificaré delante del pueblo; porque a él he dado las llaves de este reino y ministerio. Así sea. Amén.
