1 The veil was taken from our minds, and the eyes of our understanding were opened.

1 El velo fue retirado de nuestras mentes, y los ojos de nuestro entendimiento fueron abiertos.

2 We saw the Lord standing upon the breastwork of the pulpit, before us; and under his feet was a paved work of pure gold, in color like amber.

2 Vimos al Señor sobre el barandal del púlpito, delante de nosotros; y debajo de sus pies había un pavimento de oro puro del color del ámbar.

3 His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:

3 Sus ojos eran como llama de fuego; el cabello de su cabeza era blanco como la nieve pura; su semblante brillaba más que el resplandor del sol; y su voz era como el estruendo de muchas aguas, sí, la voz de Jehová, que decía:

4 I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father.

4 Soy el primero y el último; soy el que vive, soy el que fue muerto; soy vuestro abogado ante el Padre.

5 Behold, your sins are forgiven you; you are clean before me; therefore, lift up your heads and rejoice.

5 He aquí, vuestros pecados os son perdonados; os halláis limpios delante de mí; por tanto, alzad la cabeza y regocijaos.

6 Let the hearts of your brethren rejoice, and let the hearts of all my people rejoice, who have, with their might, built this house to my name.

6 Regocíjese el corazón de vuestros hermanos, así como el corazón de todo mi pueblo, que con su fuerza ha construido esta casa a mi nombre.

7 For behold, I have accepted this house, and my name shall be here; and I will manifest myself to my people in mercy in this house.

7 Porque he aquí, he aceptado esta casa, y mi nombre estará aquí; y me manifestaré a mi pueblo en misericordia en esta casa.

8 Yea, I will appear unto my servants, and speak unto them with mine own voice, if my people will keep my commandments, and do not pollute this holy house.

8 Sí, apareceré a mis siervos y les hablaré con mi propia voz, si mi pueblo guarda mis mandamientos y no profana esta santa casa.

9 Yea the hearts of thousands and tens of thousands shall greatly rejoice in consequence of the blessings which shall be poured out, and the endowment with which my servants have been endowed in this house.

9 Sí, el corazón de millares y decenas de millares se regocijará en gran manera como consecuencia de las bendiciones que han de ser derramadas, y la investidura con que mis siervos han sido investidos en esta casa.

10 And the fame of this house shall spread to foreign lands; and this is the beginning of the blessing which shall be poured out upon the heads of my people. Even so. Amen.

10 Y la fama de esta casa se extenderá hasta los países extranjeros; y este es el principio de la bendición que se derramará sobre la cabeza de los de mi pueblo. Así sea. Amén.

11 After this vision closed, the heavens were again opened unto us; and Moses appeared before us, and committed unto us the keys of the gathering of Israel from the four parts of the earth, and the leading of the ten tribes from the land of the north.

11 Después de cerrarse esta visión, los cielos nuevamente nos fueron abiertos; y se apareció Moisés ante nosotros y nos entregó las llaves del recogimiento de Israel de las cuatro partes de la tierra, y de la conducción de las diez tribus desde el país del norte.

12 After this, Elias appeared, and committed the dispensation of the gospel of Abraham, saying that in us and our seed all generations after us should be blessed.

12 Después de esto, apareció Elías y entregó la dispensación del evangelio de Abraham, diciendo que en nosotros y en nuestra descendencia serían bendecidas todas las generaciones después de nosotros.

13 After this vision had closed, another great and glorious vision burst upon us; for Elijah the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us, and said:

13 Concluida esta visión, se nos desplegó otra visión grande y gloriosa; porque Elías el Profeta, que fue llevado al cielo sin gustar la muerte, se apareció ante nosotros, y dijo:

14 Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachi—testifying that he [Elijah] should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord come—

14 He aquí, ha llegado plenamente el tiempo del cual se habló por boca de Malaquías, testificando que él [Elías el Profeta] sería enviado antes que viniera el día grande y terrible del Señor,

15 To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse—

15 para hacer volver el corazón de los padres a los hijos, y el de los hijos a los padres, para que el mundo entero no fuera herido con una maldición.

16 Therefore, the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands; and by this ye may know that the great and dreadful day of the Lord is near, even at the doors.

16 Por tanto, se entregan en vuestras manos las llaves de esta dispensación; y por esto sabréis que el día grande y terrible del Señor está cerca, sí, a las puertas.
