1 A great and marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.

1 Una obra grande y maravillosa está a punto de aparecer entre los hijos de los hombres.

2 Behold, I am God; give heed to my word, which is quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, to the dividing asunder of both joints and marrow; therefore give heed unto my word.

2 He aquí, yo soy Dios; escucha mi palabra que es viva y poderosa, más cortante que una espada de dos filos, que penetra hasta partir las coyunturas y los tuétanos; por consiguiente, presta atención a mi palabra.

3 Behold, the field is white already to harvest; therefore, whoso desireth to reap let him thrust in his sickle with his might, and reap while the day lasts, that he may treasure up for his soul everlasting salvation in the kingdom of God.

3 He aquí, el campo blanco está ya para la siega; por tanto, quien deseare cosechar, meta su hoz con su fuerza y siegue mientras dure el día, a fin de que atesore para su alma la salvación sempiterna en el reino de Dios.

4 Yea, whosoever will thrust in his sickle and reap, the same is called of God.

4 Sí, quien meta su hoz y coseche es llamado por Dios.

5 Therefore, if you will ask of me you shall receive; if you will knock it shall be opened unto you.

5 Por consiguiente, si me pides, recibirás; si llamas, se te abrirá.

6 Now, as you have asked, behold, I say unto you, keep my commandments, and seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion.

6 Ahora, ya que has pedido, he aquí, te digo: Guarda mis mandamientos y procura sacar a luz y establecer la causa de Sion.

7 Seek not for riches but for wisdom; and, behold, the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto you, and then shall you be made rich. Behold, he that hath eternal life is rich.

7 No busques riquezas sino sabiduría; y he aquí, los misterios de Dios te serán revelados, y entonces serás rico. He aquí, rico es el que tiene la vida eterna.

8 Verily, verily, I say unto you, even as you desire of me so it shall be done unto you; and, if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation.

8 De cierto, de cierto te digo, que se te concederá según lo que de mí deseares; y si quieres, serás el medio para hacer mucho bien en esta generación.

9 Say nothing but repentance unto this generation. Keep my commandments, and assist to bring forth my work, according to my commandments, and you shall be blessed.

9 No prediques sino el arrepentimiento a esta generación. Guarda mis mandamientos y ayuda a que salga a luz mi obra, según mis mandamientos, y serás bendecido.

10 Behold, thou hast a gift, or thou shalt have a gift if thou wilt desire of me in faith, with an honest heart, believing in the power of Jesus Christ, or in my power which speaketh unto thee;

10 He aquí, tienes un don, o tendrás un don, si de mí lo deseas con fe, con un corazón sincero, creyendo en el poder de Jesucristo, o en mi poder que te habla;

11 For, behold, it is I that speak; behold, I am the light which shineth in darkness, and by my power I give these words unto thee.

11 porque he aquí, soy yo el que hablo; he aquí, soy la luz que brilla en las tinieblas, y por mi poder te doy estas palabras.

12 And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good—yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit.

12 Y ahora, de cierto, de cierto te digo: Pon tu confianza en ese Espíritu que induce a hacer lo bueno, sí, a obrar justamente, a andar humildemente, a juzgar con rectitud; y este es mi Espíritu.

13 Verily, verily, I say unto you, I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy;

13 De cierto, de cierto te digo: Te daré de mi Espíritu, el cual iluminará tu mente y llenará tu alma de gozo;

14 And then shall ye know, or by this shall you know, all things whatsoever you desire of me, which are pertaining unto things of righteousness, in faith believing in me that you shall receive.

14 y entonces conocerás, o por este medio sabrás, todas las cosas que de mí deseares, que corresponden a la rectitud, con fe, creyendo en mí que recibirás.

15 Behold, I command you that you need not suppose that you are called to preach until you are called.

15 He aquí, te mando que no vayas a suponer que eres llamado a predicar sino hasta que se te llame.

16 Wait a little longer, until you shall have my word, my rock, my church, and my gospel, that you may know of a surety my doctrine.

16 Espera un poco más, hasta que tengas mi palabra, mi roca, mi iglesia y mi evangelio, para que con certeza conozcas mi doctrina.

17 And then, behold, according to your desires, yea, even according to your faith shall it be done unto you.

17 Y entonces, he aquí, conforme a tus deseos, sí, de acuerdo con tu fe te será hecho.

18 Keep my commandments; hold your peace; appeal unto my Spirit;

18 Guarda mis mandamientos; guarda silencio; invoca a mi Espíritu;

19 Yea, cleave unto me with all your heart, that you may assist in bringing to light those things of which has been spoken—yea, the translation of my work; be patient until you shall accomplish it.

19 sí, allégate a mí con todo tu corazón para que ayudes a revelar esas cosas de las que se ha hablado, sí, la traducción de mi obra; sé paciente hasta que lo realices.

20 Behold, this is your work, to keep my commandments, yea, with all your might, mind and strength.

20 He aquí, esta es tu obra: Guardar mis mandamientos, sí, con todo tu poder, mente y fuerza.

21 Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed; then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit and my word, yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men.

21 No intentes declarar mi palabra, sino primero procura obtenerla, y entonces será desatada tu lengua; luego, si lo deseas, tendrás mi Espíritu y mi palabra, sí, el poder de Dios para convencer a los hombres.

22 But now hold your peace; study my word which hath gone forth among the children of men, and also study my word which shall come forth among the children of men, or that which is now translating, yea, until you have obtained all which I shall grant unto the children of men in this generation, and then shall all things be added thereto.

22 Mas por ahora guarda silencio; estudia mi palabra que ha salido entre los hijos de los hombres, y también estudia mi palabra que saldrá entre ellos, o lo que ahora se está traduciendo, sí, hasta que hayas logrado todo cuanto concederé a los hijos de los hombres en esta generación, y entonces se añadirán a esto todas las cosas.

23 Behold thou art Hyrum, my son; seek the kingdom of God, and all things shall be added according to that which is just.

23 He aquí, tú eres Hyrum, mi hijo; busca el reino de Dios, y todas las cosas serán añadidas según lo que es justo.

24 Build upon my rock, which is my gospel;

24 Edifica sobre mi roca, la cual es mi evangelio;

25 Deny not the spirit of revelation, nor the spirit of prophecy, for wo unto him that denieth these things;

25 no niegues el espíritu de revelación ni el espíritu de profecía, porque, ¡ay de aquel que niega estas cosas!

26 Therefore, treasure up in your heart until the time which is in my wisdom that you shall go forth.

26 Por lo tanto, atesora en tu corazón hasta el tiempo en que, según mi sabiduría, has de salir.

27 Behold, I speak unto all who have good desires, and have thrust in their sickle to reap.

27 He aquí, hablo a todos los que tienen deseos buenos y han metido sus hoces para segar.

28 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am the life and the light of the world.

28 He aquí, soy Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios. Soy la vida y la luz del mundo.

29 I am the same who came unto mine own and mine own received me not;

29 Soy el mismo que vine a los míos, y los míos no me recibieron;

30 But verily, verily, I say unto you, that as many as receive me, to them will I give power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on my name. Amen.

30 mas de cierto, de cierto te digo, que a cuantos me reciban daré el poder de llegar a ser hijos de Dios, sí, a los que crean en mi nombre. Amén.
