Purple Cello Mansion¶

Located at the base of the Purple Cello Peninsula. It is the home of Yeahbut, the owner of the world and President of The Capitol. It is listed on The Andromeda Registry of Special Buildings, designated 5 6.

History¶

Plans to construct the mansion started very early on in the world. Between March 22 and 31, 2015 the location was selected and marked with a beacon at 636, 1040.

Originally the glass dome over top the ballroom was pointed, but some time following the construction of the Dragon Egg Dome, it was removed. Between October 28, 2017 and December 22, 2017 the current dome was built.

Main Section¶

The first part of the mansion was the Main Section. It was built between March 31, 2015 and May 12, 2015. The building has a long history, and under it is the original basement and its many secret tunnels, which became problematic when the new basement was constructed.

Purple Cello District Library¶

To the west of the ball room is the Purple Cello District Library.

Old Basement¶

The old basement is located mostly under the main building, the wings, and the front yard. It is made up of redstone systems, tunnels, storage, and abandoned rooms. The walls and floor are mostly made up of the building’s foundations and the natural stone. The basement has never been open to the public and is used purely for functional uses.

Escape Tunnels¶

Under the building and the surrounding area is a maze of interconnected, secret tunnels leading to secret exits and entrances, the natural cave system, security and communication systems, secret bases and bunkers, and even possibly a Capitol Guard Void-Jumper Entrance or two.

New Basement¶

The new basement was started in May 2019. It is located behind the main building, with an entrance snaking around redstone and secret tunnels from the old basement. With a few exceptions, it has largely been open to the public. It is also connected to the Purple Cello City and Christmas Tree Tunnel Systems. With this and the area’s overall security, the Mansion is a viable alternative to the doomsday bunker, Bunker #8 as The Capitol’s Emergency HQ for less severe emergencies.

The Basement includes a boardroom, with a seating format similar to the one in The Capitol Office Building, a theatre/auditorium, classrooms, and lots of space for expansion. Future plans for the basement include offices, living quarters, and more classrooms.

With the classrooms and other resources, the basement serves as another campus for Purple Cello College.

Andromeda Theatre Lights¶

Lights are numbered starting at stage left going to stage right.

There are three rows of lights:

1. The down stage bright lights (B1-B9).
2. The down stage dim lights (D1-D8).
3. The up stage (cyc) lights (C1-C7).

Each light can be toggled on or off and are individually addressable on two separate, 4-bit circuits. The two circuits are connected to a show control system via an 8-bit bus.

The show control system does not store the state of the lights, it can only toggle the state of each light. Each light stores its own state independently. These states cannot be shared with the show control system as the 8-bit bus is only one way.

In addition to controlling each light individually, the house lights can be toggles, a bell can be rung, and two groups of lights can be toggled all together: B2-B8 and C1-C7.

The bell can be heard from the Andromeda Classroom, Music Area, Rehearsal Room, Prep Rooms M and F, and the Theatre Workshop, and the hallways in-between. The bell is not played in the Andromeda Theatre: both the house and stage.
