Government and Politics¶

The Dragon Egg World has a single sovereign state, a federation called The Capitol.

The Capitol Government¶

The national government or federal government, called The Capitol Government. The head of state has the title of The President of The Capitol, however holds supreme power (often delegating), resulting in little separation between executive, legislative, and judicial powers.

Legislative powers are delegated to a bicameral legislature, the lower house called The Capitol Assembly and meet in The Grand Assembly Hall, and the upper house called The Capitol Council and meet in The Grand Councilroom. Both are traditionally presided over by The President.

Executive powers are usually delegated to agencies and local governments, called districts which are further split into zones. Judicial powers may be delegated to officials, called judges, however this has never been done in practice.

The Capitol Dome Zone is the primary department of the Capitol.

The Capitol Guard is responsible for Defense and Law Enforcement.

Capitol Mint¶

The Capitol Mint is responsible for the Capitol Economic System, Business, and Trade.

Capitol Administration of Transportation and Exploration¶

CATE

The Capitol Administration of Transportation and Exploration is responsible for the Capitol Road Network, Agriculture, Land Management, and Conservation.

Political Divisions¶

The Capitol is divided into 4 districts and 2 Territories. There are 4 districts on the southern continent and are the Purple Cello District, the Capitol Plains District, the Atomic Desert District, and the Killer Bunny District. With them is the Glaciesterra Territory which is in an ocean blocked in by the southern continent and the edge of the world. Currently the north continent is almost completely undeveloped, and makes up the North Continent Territory.

The territories are under the jurisdiction and managed by the Purple Cello District. Historically the Purple Cello District has also managed areas where district claims overlap and are disputed. This is because the Purple Cello District was the first district and was given jurisdiction outside its borders of anything not inside another district.
